hurricane michael expected to make landfall sometime soon. it would be the morning for us. afternoon in the florida panhandle. huge waves crashing down right now. it has strengthened to a category 4 storm as mike nicco has been telling us throughout the morning. satellite view of the huge storm. life he threatening storm surge up to 12 feet that had been forecast. 375,000 residents under mandatory and voluntary evacuation orders in 18 florida counties. a tornado watch in florida and georgia right now. michael could be the strongest hurricane to ever make landfall in the florida panhandle. we will keep watching the live images and have a live report from panama city beach coming up. and these images from the international space station. it gives you an idea how big the storm is. the space station is about 255

san francisco police say six women are involved in the brutal beating of a 20-year-old man. the suspects are still in the run. police say the attack happened early sunday morning on mission near 29th street. the victim got into an argument with the women, it escalated into a fight. the man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. so far police have made no arrests. anyone with information is asked to call sfpd. statement fire stpeurbls officials say pg&e are to blame. fire protection says strong winds caused two sagging lines to touch, creating an electrical arc that sent molten materials onto dry vegetation blow. the fire started a year ago monday. it killed four people, scorched 15 square miles, destroyed 264 structures. cal fire has said that at least a dozen of wildfires in october of last year were called by pg&e power lines. in a statement, they said in

with pg&e in the sierras. and i'm an arborist since the onset of the drought, more than 129 million trees have died in california. pg&e prunes and removes over a million trees every year to ensure that hazardous trees can't impact power lines. and since the onset of the drought we've doubled our efforts. i grew up in the forests out in this area and honestly it's heartbreaking to see all these trees dying. what guides me is ensuring that the public is going to be safer and that these forests can be sustained and enjoyed by the community in the future.

precaution. we want to show you what the fire looked like when it was really going. they got the call at 2:15 that a fire was burning on main street near 7th street in oakley. they say part of the roof had collapsed when they arrived. they called for more help going to a second alarm. no one was in the buildings so there are no injuries. it is a tire shop. it looks like the tires outside the building caught fire, and it spread into the inside. we pulled a picture from google maps. you can see what it looked like before the fire. again, it is awe tire shop. it also looks like offices there as well. no word on what caused the tires to catch fire. live in the newsroom, amy hollyfield, abc 7 news. thank you, amy. city crews are testing water

across san francisco after a few neighbors in the sunset district said their tap water may be contaminated. one woman told the chronicle an at-home water kit tested positive for pesticides. other neighbors noted their water tasted bad. they say the water is safe but doing tests as a precaution. in the east bay, berkeley city council says they are open to allowing a nursery to grow cannabis. we told you last week about the plan to turn the lot on dwight way into a cannabis nursery. he is trying to revitalize his family's nursery business. he says he doesn't want to sell marijuana ready to consume. instead, he wants to sell the plants and seeds. last night he urged council to clear the way for cannabis nurseries. council members said they are leaning toward approving it but will discuss it at a later meeting. you're never more than 7 minutes away from my accuweather

cool this morning but mild this afternoon taking mass transit. i want to show you san francisco. remember two days ago it was 79 degrees. and the day before that was 79. today you're barely in the low to mid-60s after being in the 50s on either side of that. so kind of cool today. feels good out there. on the roads there's new accidents developing. >> hey, i will give mike credit for discovering this one. wall creek looking heavy. 30 seconds later we got calls there was a new crash in the area. southbound 680 before the 24 in walnut creek just beyond few. a two-car crash. it sounds pretty minor. they do need the tow truck. there you go. a lot of folks slowing down to take a look at that. we have a sea of brake lights approaching. that already was slow from about 242 split approaching that scene. just going to make things heavier in the area.
