many warning signs on the restricted roadway. >> he state head saw a few of them and figured he eads take his luck and see what he could make out of it. >> here's his answer still on the side forcing the future closer of at least one day to retrieve it. this construction crew recorded yesterday's video. they warned the driver to turn around. he did not. caltrans knows the drill. >> his trailer got off the berm and the trailer pulled him over. locals who saw the video today know better. >> i saw it yesterday. >> what did you think when you saw snit. >> i thought, here goes another one. >> reporter: last week, a similar truck. caltrans and the highway patrol said this road would still be restricted at two lanes. >> do you think you'll see this again? >> oh, yeah, 100%.

we could put a sign every two or three week and we could probably put a video of this truck going over the clip on loop and we'd still see this again. >> truckers beware. on 175 west of hopland, wayne freezeman, nbc 7 news. a big decision means electric schoolers will be back. several cities including emeryville, oakland, piedmont, and san jose have partnerships with at least one scooter company, sometimes many more. that's been an issue with san francisco until today. melanie woodrow is live to explain. melanie. >> well, dan, they're coming back, but they almost had yet another delay and that's because one of the companies involved in all of this, a company named lime wanted the sfmta to rethink its decision to give two other companies permits for those

scooters on monday. today's the efforts to halt this process were unsuccessful. >> it seems no matter what direction you look, people are scooting around oakland. >> i like to ride them. they're fun. >> it gives people more mobility and it's more affordable than transit. >> reporter: oakland is working out practices and policies that will come back to the city council for final approval in the coming weeks. >> people who use them will throw them, leave them on the corners. >> that's not all. our news producer took these pictures in lake merritt. >> they all have kick stands. people are just lazy. >> reporter: you'll find plenty of pedestrians and cyclists, but for now, no scooters. the city pumped the breaakes on those. >> we've got scooters really to go outed on monday.

>> reporter: they plan to issue a permit to skip. the education is a big part of their business model. >> they make sure they're serving all members of the community. >> they found a temporary restraining order. lime wanted the sfmta to hold offishes permits until they could appeal the decision to not choose it as one of the first two companies to permit it around san francisco. the city attorney's office says the request was denied and the permits will be issued on monday. skip, of course, they're happy with the decision and focused on the future. expect to see those scooters back in san francisco on morngsd especially here along the embarcadero, hopefully on the bike lane and not on the

sidewalk. one scooter company may have found a way to get around all the regular laces and bands. bird is launching a delivery service. people can now sign up online. they'll be added to a weightlift. they get a scooter dropped off at their home in the morning and use it all day. bird will pick it up at night. so far they're planning to roll it out where scooters are allowed, but the program should be viewed like rental car and they don't think cities will want to regulate them any differently than cars. they're trying to put the brakes on what they call unfair firings by the rideshare company. they say a driver can be d d e deactivated over an uber customer complaint. >> it's supporting drivers who are fighting against uber's

unfair driving poll sichl uber drivers don't have a voice. they live under the constant fear of accusation. >> reporter: decisions to block access to their acts are made in accordance. cal fire is certainly concerned about more fires in solano county and elsewhere this weekend. >> that's right. abc 7's sandhya patel has the latest. >> this is the peak of fire season. we have a fire weather watch between mind sunday and 12:00 p.m. monday. northeasterly wind gusts, 45 to 50 miles an hour with the humid down to the 5% to 10% range means this weekend fires that do develop will spread rapidly. be aware of that. hour by hour we go. midnight sunday, they start to increase at 11:00 a.m.

we were looking into this. we're joined live from city hall. >> reporter: we're doing this follow-up story because we heard from you. now, people donated money, thousands of dollars, to try to help drew, but noticed that nothing had been done. we found drew still homeless and his belongings scattered under the pergola. >> do you remember when we were here back in june? >> if it's about music -- >> no. it wasn't about finding a home. >> reporter: it was this video showing a jogger throwing his things into the lake that helped him to find a home. the gofundmest has brought in $14,000 but donors started complaining after they found that drew was still homeless.

some asked, can someone please donate and i heard he doesn't want to move into a new flas. please return the money. some who collected finally responded. we were able to get drew housing but he's refused. he does not have an i.d. we'll be donating the money to home lless rights organizations. they say we have to stop throwing money at problems we can't solve. >> money isn't going to be the key answer. it will definitely help, but we need resources out here. >> there's no political will to figure out and ask drew what do you want? obviously maybe not living here at the lake is an option for you at this point. what do you want? >> i did. i asked him.

wind which pushes those temperatures up. take look at where those numbers are rye now. it's a 24-degree temperature change. up 14 degrees in novato, 11 degrees in san jose. now here are your temperatures. they're still in the mild to warm range. oakland, 75 degrees. san jose, gilroy in the throw mid 80s. fairfield, you're in the mid 80s and it's 87 in con todd. these temperaturs are above average for some parts of the bay area. doesn't this look inviting? i love the beach. love to just relax and enjoy the y'roio be doing that this weekend, weather is going to be nice. but it is gong to include a little bit of fog tomorrow. it's not there right now. it's clear. here's another vantage point. san francisco, not seeing any fog. but it returns tomorrow. it's going to be a little cooler.

warmer weather for sunday, monday and elevated fire danger as it becomes gusty. hour by hour we go. tomorrow morning at 7:00 a.m., there will be some patches of fog, but it's not going to increase. that's when the fog expands along the entire coastline. that along with the sea breeze will mean the temperatures will come down. as the wind switches direction, the fog will get swept away. tomorrow morning, mainly clee. anywhere from the low 40s to the mid-50s. and then in the afternoon it's going to be nice and mild. 82, morgan hill. 80 in cupertino, san jose. very nice looking day on peninsula. mid-70s from palo al toe. 55 in pa siff kachlt fog will be here. the temperature will come down. it will be noticeable at the coast as the temperatures will be dramatically lower. 68, downtown san francisco. in the north bay, you're going
