good morning and thanks for joining us. i'm chris nice. . let's start with a look at the forecast. here is your meteorologistin ou comfortable temperatures in the 50s and not much in the way of fog right now. things change though. the on shore flow will bring low clouds on fog throughout the day later on. but right now it's in the 40s in santa rosa. dropped another degree. 44 there. 48 in san ramon. 56 in san jose. we do have a fire weather watch in effect for late tonight through monday afternoon. so the winds are going to switch to an offshore component. north and east bay hills once again gusty winds out ut of the northeast up to 50 miles an hour dropping the relative humidity to 5 and 10%. but right now we are warm up throughout the morning hours by noontime 60s and mid-seventies inland with coastal clouds. the sea breeze in the afternoon six at the coast. 70s around the bay. mid-80s inland but the fog it's not sticking around. i'll have details on that

train somebody they should be hiring my replacement today. they're hiring the replacement for the person leaving two years ago. >> oakland centers union president scott condi tells me air traffic controllers are professional who never put the public at risk. if the controller is too busy due to staffing shortages any slowdown the air traffic. >> we ensure the system is safe by metering the traffic. and you will see air traffic control delays. that becomes more prevailant as you have staffing shortages across the country. >> and then you start pressing limits of fatigue. you are -- you have something to worry about. >> abc news aviation consultant told me from a seattle office that long hours of over-the-from staff shortages can take a toll. >> you can have a controller who slowed everything down because he or she is getting tired, but now an emergency occurs and can that controller think as fast as needed? that's where fatigue comes into it. >> just last week several of mark desaunier's measures to

argen. hi, everyone. saturday morning waking up to cool and comfortable conditions much like you expect in the morning hours. here a live doppler 7 look. very little fog waking up to 40s and 50s. in fact pretty school along the coast and also in the north bay. last check 47 half moon bay. 46 in novato. 44 santa rosa. 55 in oakland with 52 down in fremont. upper elevation winds are offshore. but we have an on shore component today. so that's going to be a cool coast. and a little bit of fog comes back into play later on today are tonight. the fog is back allowing for breezier conditions at beaches. we'll warm up tomorrow into monday. we have elevated fire danger with low relative humidity gusty northeast winds. once again we watch that for you as the temperatures really soar tomorrow. so today will be warm inland as well pl but look being at winds midnight tonight here they come from the sierra nevada into calistoga looking at 23 miles an hour gusts there.

this time tomorrow we have 25 to 30 miles an hour gusts north and east bay hills. by 11:00 sunday morning yes we are very breezy. and the winds are coming out of the northeast right on through the afternoon on sunday. it's an offshore event and winds get gustier by sunday night. 30 to 40 miles an hour winds. and the temperatures are going to be high. the relative humidity drops and then into 3:00 monday morning this is just like a week ago. very little change. finally by afternoon monday the winds lighten up. but -- accompanying the winds will be the relative humidity starting out as high as it's getting. which is not that high by midnight 59% in pet lam. and look at 2:00 in the afternoon. we're dropping to 10%. from antioch livermore, san ramon 13%. we continue to dry out the atmosphere early in the morning on monday remember we should have the up 70, 89%. only in 9% in nama. right through the afternoon we

continue the dry conditions. keep that in mind today a bit of a break out there with the fog returning. we're on coup to half moon bay later on today. 64 for the pumpkin festival. tomorrow it will be warmer at 69 degrees. a lot of sunshine but a little bit of fog for you. and if you are planning on heading over to berkeley today ucla is in town. temperatures very pleasant. 71 degrees. then you know the sun sets at 6:30. the temperatures drop quickly. upper 50s. highs today around the bay, cooler than yesterday. yesterday was 78 in san francisco. the average high is 70. so 8 degrees above average. today 68. a little breezy at the shoreline 64 half moon bay. 71 in richmond. upper 70s in fremont. we have the warm 80s inle pl livermore and morgan hill. slightly cooler around the bay and coast today with the on shore winds. i winner it would last but tomorrow it's an offshore component by about midnight that brings windy conditions in the
