forecast. the big story, the high fire danger that continues through noon today. aoeflt bay hills, diablo range and north bay mountains.east bad north bay mountains. university of california san diego has the largest shake table of its kind. it is used to simulate earthquakes and their impact on structures. national science foundation is giving the school $16 million to modify the table. right now it only moves backward and forward. when upgraded it will move in different directions. it already led to tougher design codes. san trans will show off its new battery powered buses.

call it tara or tarra. it is not moving at all. 2 miles per hour. over the next several days, it doesn't move at all. so look for plenty of rain. in fact, too much rain around puerto vallarta. a lot of mudslides going there. it will continue to rain possibly 10, 15 inches. over to alexis with the morning commute. it has been a busy start here. we have had several collisions already on the boards. one just in for the tri-valley, northbound 680, south of the 580 merge in the dublin pleasanton area. a van hit the barrier. debris was all over the roadway. chp on the way to get that cleared. the vehicle made it off to the shoulder. no delay there. be on the lookout if you're headed through that stretch. fairfield and cordelia, another person hit debris, and that turned into a five-car collision. everything off to the shoulder.

back in the green there. the richmond side of the richmond-san rafael bridge. the volumes slowly increasing. no significant delays here. walmart has agreed to pay $65 million to settle a lawsuit claiming it did not provide seating for california cashiers. the settlement was filed in federal court in san francisco. the suit were alleged walmart violated a 2001 california order requiring workers to be given seats when the work reasonably permits it. if a judge approves it, the deal would end a decade-old lawsuit. walmart denies any wrongdoing but will offer stools in the future. >> a 10-year-old san francisco boy is sleeping well after accomplishing a big mission, running his 50th 5k race in 50 days. he finished at his grandfather was unexpectedly diagnosed with lung cancer.
