live where you live, this i gmorng.oining us on this sunday, october 21. let's look at weather. >> morning, everyone. we are starting off with live doppler 7. we have the low clouds and fog. the fog is thick in the north bay where visibility has been reduced to a fourth of a mile in napa, three miles in sunrise is 7:24. by this afternoon, we will see partly sunny conditions. then coastal clouds throughout the day. inland temperatures warming up into the mid 80s. around the bay, mid 70s. at the coast, mid 60s.

things are a little bit cooler today. we have more cooling on the way. i will have that with the seven-day forecast in my main report. dozens of people are hurt after this floor collapse at an apartmentparty. it happened just before 12:30 near clemson university. the center of a first floor clubhouse collapsed into a basement. medics took 30 people to the hospital. none of the injuries appear to be life-threatening. the floor suddenly gave out. many clemson students were celebrating after yesterday's homecoming football game. we will stay on this story and bring youuptes we now to an abc 7 news exclusive. a little girl is safe and back with her family after a scary ride in the south bay. her father left her in the car while making a stop in a convenience store. a thief got in and took off. we talked to the girl after she was reunited with her parents.

window. she saw a little girl over here behind us crying. she came out to see what was going on. >> 5-year-old dropped off by a van. >> reporter: police reunited the young girl with her parents. >> 20 minutes maybe. i don't know. i was so panicked. i didn't really know how long it was. it felt like forever. >> reporter: the thief ditched the suv nearby. this man confronted the man in his backyard. >> he was frantic. he was telling me to be quiet, to not say nothing. >> reporter: police arrested the 30-year-old on kidnapping, auto theft and obstruction charges. >> hopefully, other people listening will not leave their kids in the car when it's running anywhere. a man is dead after an amtrak police blocked off the area to

investigate. video shows the impact of the crash flipped the car on its roof. witnesses told abc 7 the driver was impatient and tried to drive around a train crossing arm. the family of a pittsburgh man shot to death by police staged a protest. it was at the fast food restaurant where he was killed. a warning, this story contains graphic police body cam video that may be disturbing to some. >> justice for terry. >> reporter: a grieving mom re-visited the parking spot where her 43-year-old son died outside this restaurant. >> what happened in january, my son was killed right here in this spot. he was shot by the police. he was sitting in his car eating a hamburger. >> reporter: police claim officers approached the car of a suspected drug dealer on janua center console. no comment from police today. in july, they released body cam video of the shooting encounter.

>> put your [ bleep ] hands up. >> reporter: it shows police then handcuffed him and he died at a hospital a short while later. the committee against police brutality helped organize this rally with other parents who lost sons and daughters in police shootings. >> i believe cops are scared of their own shadow. they are too quick with pulling out their weapon to kill somebody. >> reporter: rick perez lost his 24-year-old son in a police shooting four years ago in richmond. >> thank god, bill 1421 has passed here, to make -- get more accountability and more records shown about the cops. >> i want justice for my son. i want people to know what the police are doing. >> reporter: i spoke to the victim's family's attorney. he told me they will be filing a lawsuit alleging excessive use of force and a violation of constitutional rights.

figure out what sparked a house fire in concord. you could see flames shooting out of the home. fire started just before 8:00 last night. no one was hurt. firefighters found a dog not breathing. they performed cpr on the animal. crews were able to revive it. 40 people are out of their homes after this apartment fire. it happened at the kimberly apartments just after midnight. firefighters say smoke was pouring from the second and third floor when they arrived. four other local fire departments were called to help. everyone was able to make it out. the red cross is helping those victims. new developments now. crews are making progress repairing the orville dam. they released this video. it shows workers placing the final section of a concrete wall on the main spillway this week. in february last year, both spillway collapsed forcing nearly 200,000 people downstream to evacuate. marriott workers have been

on strike for more than two weeks. in san francisco yesterday, thousands of people showed up to support them. abc 7 news was there as workers, political allies and members of other unions marched outside the marriott marquis. striking workers across the bay area are demanding higher wages and job security. >> we need to get up with the times, up with the wages and the rents are too high. >> similar demonstrations were held in san jose and oakland. a spokes for marriott said while we respect our associates' rights to voice their opinions, we are disappointed unite here has chosen to resort to a strike. we believe the best place to resort the issue r resolve the issues is at the bargaining table. more than $2 billion is on the line in the mega millions

>> what she has accomplished is unprecedented. she became the youngest world champion in the sport's history at 12. >> reporter: more remarkable is where she honed her skills. not on the rivers of idaho or the northwest, but the angling and casting club in golden gate park. >> to have this facility right in san francisco was just amazing. >> reporter: her dad, also a fly caster, eventually teamed her up with a coach. >> the roll cast is the most important to learn. >> reporter: at 9, she began mastering roll casting, shifting the motion of her upper and lower body in unison with her wrists and placing fly and fly into small circular targets. soon she began reeling in medals. finally in what some thought was a fluke, a first place finish at the world championships in 2016.

good morning. once again, we have the morning clouds. you can see the gray skies. it has filled in through the north bay all around the bay and through parts of the south bay. clearing in some inland spots. here is a live shot as we look toward downtown san francisco. we see some of the gray skies. we have a deeper marine layer and this onshore flow will bring us cooler temperatures. in san francisco, it's 53 degrees. oakland, 54. san jose, 56. morgan hill, 51 degrees. as we look from our roof camera towards the bay bridge, we have a pretty view. see the wind is blowing a little bit. we have cooler numbers in the north bay. that's where fog developed. napa, 49. livermore, 49 degrees. here we are locki inglooking at bridge. we have the morning fog, low clouds. we will see a mostly sunny

afternoon once again. with a stronger onshore flow. the cooling trend starts today and continues through tuesday. then after that, high pressure rebuilds. then we have a warming trend wednesday through friday. we will go down a little bit and come right back up. here is a look at the forecast animation. we have more extensive low clouds and fog this morning until 7:00. we will see it spread past the delta. then it will start to pull back. it will take a little bit longer to pull back. by 3:00, cloudy at the beaches, most everywhere else it should be sunny. then it will push in overnight again pretty quickly into monday. we will see clouds return a little bit earlier this evening. highs today just a little cooler compared to yesterday but still warm throughs pa parts of the s bay. san jose warming up to 77 with plenty of sunshine. we will find low 70s on the lower part of the peninsula. breezy at the coast. the coastal areas will see

temperatures in the low 60s throughout parts of the day. daily city will hit a high of 62. downtown san francisco, 64. look for lots of 70s in the north bay. lots of sunshine as well in the east bay. berkeley, 69. other places hitting the upper 70s, like fremont, 77 degrees. inland areas will be in the low to mid 80s today. look for a high of 80 in pleasanton. lows tonight, it kill be cowill. you will see fog tomorrow morning. we will see low 50s around the bay as well. here is a look at the week ahead in livelivermore. we are above average. above average but we will be dropping temperatures into

tuesday. that will be the coolest day of the week. we will be close to average. high pressure rebuilds and then we will come back up to almost where we were yesterday, which is about ten degrees above average for the inland areas. here is the seven-day forecast. for today, we have morning clouds. still a beautiful day. inland highs warming into the mid 80s. around the bay, mid 70s. at the coast, mid 60s. we will cool down tomorrow and tuesday will be the coolest day where we will be near average. we will see partly cloudy conditions on wednesday and thursday, but temperatures will warm up into friday and then next weekend looking pretty good as well. >> look at all those 80s. >> you were asking about rain. we don't have any rain in sight through the month right now. >> we need it. let's enjoy this while we've got it. abc's new series called alll "more in common."

do to improve conditions there? >> reporter: as the debate over how to handle the crisis continues, the president will travel to texas, north carolina and wisconsin in the coming week. president trump says the u.s. will withdraw from a nuclear arms treaty with russia. trump said moscow violated the treaty. it protects the u.s. and its allies in europe and the far east. it sets limits on how they use ground launch missiles. his national security adviser is headed to russia. the european union says the emerging details of the death of a "washington post" journalist are troubling. saudi arabia says khashoggi died after a fight inside the consulate. >> reporter: it has been more than two weeks since jamal khashoggi disappeared after entering the saudi consulate.

the saudi kingdom is admitting khashoggi is dead, claiming a fight with those he met at the consulate was the cause. they said discussions did not go as required, claiming there was a quarrel between some of the suspects and jamal khashoggi. it led to his death and their attempt to conceal and cover what happened. 18 saudis are in custody. five top intelligence officials have been fired. including a top intel official and close adviser to the crown prince. president trump says this is a good first step, adding that what happened to khashoggi was unacceptable but still supporting the lucrative arms deal with saudi arabia. >> i would prefer we don't use as retribution cancelling $110 billion worth of work, which means 600,000 jobs. >> reporter: some republican and democratic lawmakers are not convinced by the explanation. >> you know that old expression

wa watch it right here on abc 7. now to a bizarre story out of houston. a doorbell camera shows a woman dashing up to a stranger's home, ringing the bell and leaving a 2-year-old boy behind. we have the story behind the video and the charges one woman faces. >> reporter: this is the doorbell surveillance video that had people across houston alarmed. at first, it appeared the woman was abandoning this child at a stranger's home. carrying the porch by his arm with an odd smile on her face before she runs back to the car and speeds away. the homeowner called police who took the baby and alerted the media. that's when a reporter stepped in. she went and knocked on the house next door and met this man. >> that's my son. i live here. >> reporter: she showed the video and discovered he was the

boy's father. >> he never met that lady. i never seen that lady. >> reporter: the mother who had custody was supposed to bring the 2-year-old to his biological father's house wednesday afternoon. mom ended up in the hospital. police report that the woman in the video is the mother's friend, dropping the child off in the dark hours late at the wrong home and then speeding away. >> had she waited seven more seconds, the homeowner would have opened the door and maybe would have started a dialogue to direct her to the correct house. >> reporter: they are charging the unidentified woman with felony child abandonment. youtube is saying it's sorry by offering customer a one week credit. it went down for about an hour on tuesday. tv users should get an e-mail offering them a $10 credit. they missed opening night for the nba playoffs. new this morning, bookstores
