let's look at your weather forecast. good morning. we have the gray skies over much of the bay area. even foggy conditions in the north bay. you can see is here. there is some clearing though right now in some of the interior areas. we will see sunshine. it's going to take a while. sunrise 7:24. temperatures around the bay area in the 40s and 50s. by lunchtime, only partly sunny. it will take the afternoon for all the clouds to pull back to the coast. inland highs will be a little cooler compared to yesterday. in the mid 80s around the bay. look for mid 70s and at the coast. an onshore sea breeze that will cool everyone down in the next few days. sun sets at 6:23. i will have more details with cooling in the seven-day forecast coming up. new overnight, dozens of people are hurt after a floor collapse at an apartment party. it happened near clemson

university. police say the center of a first floor clubhouse collapsed into a basement. medics took 30 people to the hospital. none of the injuries appear to be life tl-threateninlife-threa. dozens of people were jumping and dancing when the floor gave out. many were celebrating after yesterday's homecoming football game. we will stay on top of this and bring you updates as we get them. now to an abc 7 news exclusive. a little girl is safe and back with her family after a scary ride. her father left her in the car while making a stop in a convenience store. that's when a thief got in and took off. we talked to the girl after she was reunited with her parents. >> i'm in kindergarten. >> reporter: saddie is a 5-year-old to tell her friends. >> i have a new friend kayla. >> reporter: around 4:00 this

afternoon, she slept in the back seat of her dad's suv. >> i parked right in front of the store. i grabbed a drink. i went, i double-checked to see if she was -- everything was cool. the guy gave me my change back. i looked back and my car was gone. >> reporter: he left the car running. it took the thief no time to get behind the wheel and take off. >> the guy break down. he is telling everybody here that he has a 5-year-old in the car. >> reporter: she woke up to a stranger driving her dad's suv. >> i didn't like it. i was so scared. >> reporter: then he kicked her out. >> my mom was at the kitchen window. she saw a little girl over here behind us crying. she came out to see what was going on. >> 5-year-old dropped off by a van. anyone available to go. >> reporter: they reunited the young girl with her parents. >> maybe 20 minutes.

i don't know. i was panicked. i didn't really know how long it was. it felt like forever. >> reporter: the thief ditched the suv nearby. >> he broke through. >> reporter: this man confronted the man in his and was telling me to be quiet, to not say nothing. >> reporter: police arrested the 30-year-old on kidnapping, auto theft and obstruction charges. >> hopefully, other people listening will not leave their kids in the car when it's running anywhere. a man is dead after an amtrak train hit a car in oakland. it happened yesterday afternoon. police blocked off the area to investigate. video shows the impact flipped the car on its roof. witnesses told abc 7 the driver was impatient and tried to drive around a crossing arm. the family of a man shot to dead by police staged a protest

at the fast food restaurant where he was killed. a warning, this story contained graphic police body cam video that may be disturbing to some. >> justice for terry. >> reporter: a grieving mom re-visited the parking spot where her 43-year-old son died outside this restaurant. >> what happened in january, my son was killed right here in this spot. he was shot by the police. he was sitting in his car eating a hamburger. >> reporter: police claim officers approached the car of a suspected drug dealer on january 12 and noticed a gun in the center console. no comment from police today. in july, they released bod cam video of the shooting encounter. >> put your [ bleep ] hands up. at a hospital later. a rally was held with other

it happened at the kimberly apartments just after midnight yesterday. firefighters say smoke was pouring from the second and third floor when they arrived. four other local fire departments were called to help. everyone was able to make it out. the red cross is helping those victims. new developments. crews are making repairing the orville damn. workers are placing the final section of a concrete wall in the main spillway this week. in february last year, both spillways collapsed forcing nearly 200,000 people downstream to evacuate. marriott workers have been on strike more than two weeks. in san francisco, yesterday, thous pplshedp suort em. abc 7 news was there asngorke ah the times, up with the wages and the rents are too high. demonst

santa rosa, 49 right now as well as napa. concord at livermore in the upper 40s at this point. we are looking west toward the bay bridge and the clouds over san francisco. here is the forecast for today. we have morning fog, clouds and then a mostly sunny afternoon. a cooling trend starts today and then continues through tuesday. then after that, we warm back up. warming trend wednesday through friday. here is a live look at we look from our roof towards the bay bridge. there's an air quality advisory through today. the air quality has improved. only the forth bay and the coast and central bay is expected to be moderate. other areas improving to good air quality. the forecast animation shows extensive cloud cover continuing through the 7:00 hour. it will take a little bit longer to pull back. by the afternoon, mostly sunny conditions.

khashoggi disappeared after entering the saudi consulate. now the saudi kingdom is admitting khashoggi is dead, claiming a fist fight with those he met at the consulate was the cause. the saudi press agency says discussions with khashoggi did not go as required, claiming there was a quarrel between some of the suspects and jamal khashoggi. it led to his death and their attempt to conceal and cover what happened. 18 saudis are in custody. five top intelligence officials have been fired, including this man, a top intel official and close adviser to the crown prince. president trump says this is a good first step, adding what happened to khashoggi was unacceptable, but still supporting the lucrative arms deal with saudi arabia. >> i would prefer we don't use as retribution cancelling $110 billion worth of work, which means 600,000 jobs. >> reporter: some republican and democratic lawmakers are not

schiff will discuss the diplomacy over the death of khashoggi. you can watch the full interview at 8:00 right here on abc 7. now to a story out of houston. a doorbell camera shows a woman dashing up to a stranger's home, ringing the bell and leaving a 2-year-old boy behind. we have the story behind the video and the charges one woman now faces. >> reporter: this is the surveillance video that had people alarmed. at first, it appeared the woman with the long hair wednesday night was abandoning this child at a stranger's home. roughly carrying the child to the porch with his arm with an odd smile on her face before she speeds away. the homeowner called plea polic. that's when a reporter stepped in. she went and knocked on the house next door and met this man. >> that's my son. i live here.

>> reporter: she showed the video and discovered he was the boy's father. >> i never met that lady. i never seen that lady in my life. >> reporter: police say the mother, who had custody of the child, was supposed to bring the 2-year-old to his biological father's house wednesday afternoon. mom ended up in the hospital. police report that the woman in the video is the mother's friend, dropping the child off in the dark hours late at the wrong home and then speeding away. >> had she waited, the home oern wou -- homeowner would have maybe started a dialogue to drop the child at the right house. >> reporter: they are charging the woman with felony child abandonment. youtube is saying it is sorry by offering customers a one week credit. it went down for an hour tuesday. tv users should get an e-mail offering them a $10 credit. viewers missed much of the opening night for the nba and baseball playoff games. it's not clear if youtube music

good morning. we have lots of gray skies and fog all around the bay area. the satellite image, we are seeing a little clearing in some of the interior locations. we will see clearing later on. right now, the fog is causing limited visibility, especially in the north bay where it's much more dense. only a fourth of a mile visibility in napa. half a mile in santa rosa. limited around the bay, including san jose, visibility down to five miles. you can see what it looks like at the san jose airport. gray skies there. temperatures are mostly in the 40s and 50s right now. san francisco, it's currently 53. oakland, it's 54. a little cooler in morgan hill, 51 degrees. you can see the macarthur maze there, gray here as well. cooler temperatures in the valleys like santa rosa and n a napa, 49 degrees. concord and livermore in the

upper 40s as well. this is a pretty view as we look out towards the bay. the waters are calm. see the bay bridge there and the gray clouds in it the distance. here is your forecast for today. we are dealing with morning fog, low clouds. a very typical day. mostly sunny this afternoon, except at the coast. the cooling trend will continue all the way into tuesday. temperatures will take a tumble. then we start a warming trend. we come right back up wednesday through fray.here is aoy view f the east bay hills. unfortunately, we didn't have a good chance of viewing the meteor shower. also, air quality advisory has been extended through today. however, it has improved for areas like the inland east bay, south central bay and santa clara valley. this is due to the smoke from the wildfires in southern oregon. 7:00 today, we will see the low

clouds and fog through the north bay and in through the delta as well around the bay. it starts to pull back. it might take longer compared to yesterday. by this afternoon, we will see clouds at the beaches, sunshine pretty much everywhere else. it will start to move back in this evening, a little bit earlier compared to yesterday and spread farther. we have a stronger onshore flow and sea breeze. that's going to cool temperatures down today and over the next few days. if you are headed to the 49ers game today -- check out the cool throwback uniforms. you wouldn't need a jacket. mid 70s throughout the game. highs today will be still warm in morgan hill and gilroy. lower peninsula will hit low 70s today. notice at the coast, it will be breezy and cool. daily city only warming up to 62. downtown san francisco, 64
