reyes and montano jr. face charges. all three are 18 and from pittsburg. the fire started ear wednesday morning and is a total loss. san francisco police have made an arrest in an assault that left a man with a traumatic brain injury. >> 25-year-old fang was arrested and facing two felony charges. this is surveillance video from last month's attack. he was waiting for a rideshare when he approached a car he thought was his. a man they say is fang got out and punched him n face, causing had imto fall to the ground. the diocese of san jose is expected to release an expanded estimated today after hundreds of priests are charged with child sex abuse. the report named 135 accused predator priests at the archdiocese of san francisco. 95 of oakland and 33 at the diocese of san he jose.

so in total, 263 alleged offenders. the diocese tells abc 7 news it is heartbreak to go see the list of so many who have betrayed innocent children in these ways. yo can find the entire report at abc7news.com. amazon is reportedly pitched its facial recognition system to immigration and customs enforcement. "the daily beast" published e-mails from the freedom of information act request. i.c.e. and amazon officials talked about using the recognition face scanning platform to help with homeland security investigations. the "washington post" reports i.c.e. does not currently have a contract with amazon. i.c.e. says it uses it to investigate fraud, i.d. theft, and child exploitation crimes. amazon has not responded to requests for comment. abc 7 news is committed to building a better bay area. which means we are investing more time into looking at issues that affect our quality of life

like construction. small businesses along san francisco's van ness corridor are suffering because of a major city road project that's been happening for months. kate larson talked with business owners who said the city just isn't doing enough to help them out. now some are planning to take action. >> reporter: after three years in business, messiah wall says she is closing out for good at the bootleg bar. >> i had just a chain metal fence. and i was like hmm. >> reporter: over the past year it has expanded into a full-blown construction site on van ness avenue and green street. one day i showed up and there was no interest to my storefront. i said we're closed today. maybe they will fix it today. the next day we were open for business, it wasn't fixed. >> for nine months she reached out to city hall and was finally given this sign. >> the sign isn't going to keep

>> thanks, sue. developing news in the east bay. atv investigators are expected at the site of the five-alarm fire in oakland. >> they will look to see if this is the latest in a string of arsons to hit the east bay. amy hollyfield is live in oakland this morning. hi, amy. >> reporter: hi, alexis. well, they are protecting this site. you will see oakland police officers are here watching over this damaged building. they have been here all night. this building at west grand and filbert was a big ball of fire yesterday morning at 2:00 a.m. townhomes were being built here. the builder says he will continue on this project. there will be more than 100 townhomes here. the project has the full support of the mayor. >> we are in a housing crisis. we need to build housing as quickly and effectively as possible.

everyone managed to get out safely. neighbors described the embers as raining down on them. it is the sixth major construction site in oakland to burn in just six years. in july of last year, a seven-story apartment building burned down. the cause of fire was not determined. arson not ruled out. >> a development on the border burned in july 2016 and again in may 2017. both were ruled arson. >> on halloween in 2016, a five-alarm fire hit a construction site a block from lake mary. investigators couldn't determine the cause. >> and in 2012, arson fire burned a construction site for a senior housing complex near the west oakland bart station. >> stay on top of the latest developments on the oak land fire with our abc 7 news app. enhanced live video features and push alerts. there's new trouble this morning for san francisco's

millennium tower. this is a picture of a cracked glass panel between the 9th and 10th floors. according to the city building iners, a window washing firm reported it to an engineering fire hired by the homeowners association two years ago. there is no explanation for why it took so long to come to light. this comes after a window on the 36th floor crashed last month. it was caused by exterior impact and not the sinking of the building. the city ordered the homeowners installation to reinstall scaffolding by friday. that will stay in place until the glass is replaced and the engineering firm additional analysis. pg&e will be working to produce wildfire threat in marin county. it cut power to napa, lake, and is sonoma counties following an emergency shutoff to represent wildfires. of starting this morning, crews will be flying to check for sagging power lines.

a look from east bay hills camera. cloudiness and fog trying to take over san francisco. that's the increase in clouds i was talking about. once they pull back, it reveals a day that couldn't be much closer to average for the east bay, inland, south bay, and up into the north bay. were for san francisco and the peninsula, it will be 4 to 5 degrees cooler than average. a starbucks is open where every employee is fluent in american sign language. sit down the is street from gallaudet university. this store features signs and logos in english and sign language on everything from aprons to the mugs. you can see it there. tablets at the register are also available. it seems like a fantastic idea. >> yeah. love that. >> jetblue wants a kind-hearted person to check in for good.
