all three are 18 and from pittsburg. the fire started early wednesday morning and is a total loss. >> 25-year-old fang was arrested and facing two felony charges. this is surveillance video from last month's attack. he was waiting for a rideshare when he approached a car he thought was his. a man police say is fang got out and punched him in the face, causing him to fall to the ground. go fund me raised $73,000 for matthew's recovery. the diocese of san jose is expected to release an expanded estimated today after hundreds of priests are charged with child sex abuse. the report named 135 accused predator priests at the archdiocese of san francisco. 95 of oakland and 33 at the diocese of san jose. so in total, 263 alleged offenders.

"the daily beast" published e-mails from the freedom of information act request. i.c.e. and amazon officials talked about using the recognition face scanning platform to help with homeland security investigations. the "washington post" reports i.c.e. does not currently have a contract with amazon. i.c.e. says it uses it to investigate fraud, i.d. theft, and child exploitation crimes. amazon has not responded to requests for comment. abc 7 news is committed to building a better bay area. which means we are investing more time into looking at issues

breaking news just in to the live desk. a suspicious package has been found near bill and hillary clinton's home in chappaqua, new york. incident was discovered sometime early this morning. local phraoeolice and the fbi investigator new york. you're looking at the home of george soros. we are showing you this because a device resembling a pipe bomb was found in a package inside a mailbox earlier this week. it's not clear if the two are connected. of course we will have updates on our abc 7 news app. federal investigators are expected at the site of that five-alarm fire that gutted a new construction project in oakland. >> their job will be to try to determine if this is the latest in a spring of e string of arsot

east bay. >> reporter: hi. good morning, alexis. it is very damaged. it is being protected and watched over. we have seen officers out here. we have seen agents from atf. so it is a very closely watched building. here is a great view droneview7. you can see the size of this development and the massive damage. the construction site did have a security guard on duty who said he didn't see a thing. the site also had cameras. this fire still happened. and it sfls the sixth one at a construction site in oakland. so the mayor is now saying the community needs to be on high alert. >> we call on everyone who lives around construction sites to monitor those sites. to call 911 if you see suspicious activity. >> reporter: it was such a huge fire that started at 2:00 yesterday morning. but the developer of these townhomes says he will resume

work on monday on the areas that weren't affected by fire. and he promises that he will rebuild the damaged ct till plans to create housing here. a team from the atf is going to be here today. we have seen agents walking around this morning. they will be be helping local investigators figure out what started this fire. reporting live from oakland, amy hollyfield, abgs 7 ne hollyfield, abc 7 news. firefighters battled a fire several blocks away. flying embers ignited two homes. everyone inside managed to get out safely. neighbors describe the embers as raining down on them as they escaped from their homes. >> a fire on west grant avenue is the sixth major construction site in oakland to burn in six years. >> here are all the events we have seen recently. july of last year, a seven-story apartment building on valdez street burned down. the cause of fire was not determined but arson not ruled out. >> a development on the border

between oakland and emeryville in july 2016 and again in may 2017. both were ruled arson. >> halloween 2016, five-alarm fire hit a construction site a block from lake mary. investigators couldn't determine that cause. >> and in 2012, arson fire burned a construction site for a senior housing complex near west oakland bart station. >> you can find the latest developments with our abc 7 news app. it has enhanced live features to get more of the news you want delivered to your phone in real-time. >> new trouble this morning for san francisco's millennium tower. this is a picture of a cracked glass panel between the 9th and 10th floors. according to the city building inspectors it was pointed out by window washing firm. no explanation for why it took so long to come to light. this is after a window cracked last month on the 36 floor. it was caused by some kind of exterior impact and not the sinking of the building.

the city ordered the homeowners installation to reinstall the glass is replaced and the engineering firm does additional analysis. pg&e will be working to produce wildfire threat in marin county. earlier this month they caught power to napa, lake, and counties following an sphpbemer shutoff to prevent wildfires. starting this morning, crews will be flying to check for sagging power lines. they will remove dangerous vegetation. work will continue through friday 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. state investigators blame pg&e equipment for causing 17 wildfires last fall, including 12 north bay fires. a commercial diver and filmmaker is recovered after he was rescued by the coast guard after getting bit by a shark. he was driving in farallon

islands 30 miles off the san francisco coast when he was attacked yesterday afternoon. he was rushed to stanford medical center. he is known for unwater documentaries on sharks. there are just over 100 sharks in the fair lesson islands. it happened in an area known as the red triangle including farallon islands to the north and big sur to the south. it is a notorious hunting grounds because of the prey. 80% of great white shark attacks on humans in the u.s. happened within that red triangle. >> all right. never more than 7 minutes away from my accuweather forecast. temperatures down in the south bay. a lot of mid to upper 40s. cooler than yesterday. i think this time yesterday san jose was of 56. you're at 49. low to mid-50s in sunnyvale, mountain view, and milpitas and lafayette, redwood city, along with novato.
