live, where you live, this is "abc7 news." it's scary. it's scary. i mean, i feel for that poor person, that they were caught up in this. i just hope that she's okay. >> a car chase and a violent crash with a baby inside. police say it's a case of domestic violence ending in death. good'veing. i'm dan ashley. >> and i'm ama daetz. it happened in fairfield where a woman was screaming for help in a car. the driver sped off and crashed near dover avenue and east travis boulevard. >> reporter: he heard a loud screech from incite his apartment and walked outside to see this wrecked vehicle. investigators first pulled out a female passenger, then a 10-month-old baby. >> i was so shocked there was a baby in the car. iwas like, oh, my god, and the baby was car.

>> the baby was getting passed around from firefighter to firefighter. >> reporter: the male driver was bleeding. >> they pulled the male out of the vehicle, he was bleeding in his chest. and after that, they put him on the floor and trying to do the cpr on him. >> reporter: the chaos started with the female passenger claiming to be kidnapped. >> she yelled something to the effect she was being assaulted and then the vehicle drove away. >> reporter: at that point, there was a short chase that ended here. police say the 22-year-old driver was shot by the 24-year-old female. the driver died from his injuries. all of this happening just as school was letting out. >> scary, because we always walk down here. >> we have the high school two, three blocks away. we have a middle school over here. >> reporter: at this point, the case has been considered domestic violence.

developing news with the wave of pipe bombs. there was a scare at senator dianne feinstein's office in los angeles after a suspicious package showed up there. it appears to be a false alarm. investigators say that device appears to be nothing like the others. three more showed up today, bringing the total to ten. so far the crude devices have been found in five states. investigators are shifting their attention to a post office near miami, florida. >> reporter: dan and ama, here in new york city and across the country people remain on high alert as there is no suspect in custody and the manhunt continues. >> it's absolutely terrorism. >> reporter: the nationwide manhunt for an alleged attempted bomber continues. >> i can say with certainty we will identify and arrest the person or people responsible. >> reporter: multiple sources confirm to abc news that federal

authorities are following leads in florida, zeroing in on this male facility in opa-locka. they'res the pratt to find a person or people behind the ten nearly identical packages sent to barack obama, hillary clinton, maxine waters, and most recently, former vice president joe biden and actor robert de niro. investigators believe they were all sent through the post office and fear more may still be out there. >> we have over 600,000 postal employees out there, so we have eyes and ears looking for them. >> reporter: each package so far contained explosive powder, a battery and pow eer source. now each of those devices is being painstakingly examined. sources say agents are searching each one for fingerprints on the

envelope, and from you the fires are twisted, they can tell if the bomber is left or right handed. investigators are also looking at the trip wiring, trying to find out if they were meant to detonate or meant to create fear and panic. b.a.r.t. is stepping up security in response to the threat of pipe bombs. a camera spotted extra officers and canine units patrolling san francisco civic station. b.a.r.t. says there are no specific threats but encourage riders to speak up if they see something suspicious. >> we all take b.a.r.t. to work every day. i want to feel safe and come home. so i think it's safe. they need to make sure the riders are safe. our employers do it for us, why not b.a.r.t.? >> they won't say how long this heightened security will last. >> b.a.r.t. is going to add a number of new surveillance measures. the plan calls for upgrading cameras, installing video

monitors so riders can see what's happening, adding emergency phones that connect to police dispatchers. riders can look for a mobile app that will guide them to a station based on their location. >> a man suspected of pretending to be a rideshare driver and sexually assaulting a woman is under arrest. 40-year-old brandon sherman was suspended from uber in august. he was still employed by lyft after the crime took place. lyft says they suspended him after they learned of the criminal investigation. police remind passengers to always make sure the car and license plate match those displayed on the app. google is doing damage control tonight in response to a "new york times" article that reported the tech giant gave lucrative exit packages to executives accused of sexual harassment. google says it's fired 48 people for sexual misconduct. kate larson spoke to a woman who feels she's been a victim of the culture at the tech giant.

>> he held me down and hit my face over and over while he raped me. >> reporter: after six years in an abusive marriage, jessica left her marriage three years ago. he worked at google then and there now. she says she was not surprised by the content oh thf note that google ceo sent to employees saying in part in the last two years, 48 people have been terminated for sexual harassment, including 13 who were senior managers and above. none of these individuals received an exit package. >> it's just so prevalent to treat women as objects. >> reporter: hudson was on a panel with congresswoman jackie spear about overcoming sexual trauma. >> a culture in silicon valley that we've known for some time is that it's a bit of a frat house. >> reporter: she says without more details about the circumstances of the 48 fired google employees, it's hard to

say if the culture has the tech giant has changed. >> it start at thetop, so i'm hoping the ceo is going to take a very strong public stand about this issue. >> reporter: the e-mail said google has made a number of changes and that they review every single complaint about inappropriate conduct. kate larson, "abc7 news." a tragic scene at a popular lookout in yosemite national park. the bodies of a man and woman were discovered yesterday afternoon below taft point, an outcrop that sits 7500 feet over the valley floor. park rangers lifted the bodies this morning. it's a popular outlook to have people photos taken. we hear a lot about car break-ins in the bay area, but police caught a pair of suspects that went high tech. officers found this device used

it is estimated more than 7,000 people in santa clara county are homeless. most of them are in san jose. >> i'm all for a new start to regain what i had before, start a family, you know, get my life right and never go back to the streets again. >> and he's one of those people trying to make a difference. also in san jose, it's beginning to look a lot like christmas, at least in the downtown area. organizers for christmas in the park are already prepping for the shortest christmas season yet. amanda is there tonight, and people love this event, it was one of my holiday traditions growing up. >> reporter: mine too, while i was a student at san jose state. but ama, we haven't even celebrated halloween yet, and already these huge christmas decorations are here in downtown san jose. coordinators say this is normal.

prep usually takes about a month. but what is unusual, though, is decorations. they're going to be cleared out of here christmas night. the time honored tradition is in its 39th year. >> it's something that san jose lives by. something we love to enjoy. >> kind of makes you feel like it's christmas. >> i don't want to miss it. >> and you won't, as long as you visit before christmas night. they're making space for events leading up to the college football championship game. >> it is going to be transformed into a college campus atmosphere. so they need to activate the park. >> reporter: sure, the game will be miles away in santa clara. but the plaza will be the place to be for football fans, team officials and the media. >> it's something maybe the city can benefit from. l this has history. it is bittersweet. >> reporter: there will be more bells and whistles this short

near the golden gate and around the rest of the bay area, which allowed those temperatures to warm. mid 60s to the low 80s today. live doppler 7 showing one little lonely patch we have. not going to be as widespread as we've seen in days past. i want to show you the wider perspective. why are we talking about this? because the jet stream is taking the storm track well into the pacific northwest. while there are storms lining up here in the pacific, they're all going to the north of us. that next system that is developing there will be coming through on sunday. the only thing it's going to do is drop our temperatures on sunday. here's a look at the numbers right now. it's still comfortable. i just heard from somebody on twitter, and she said it's so nice here in san francisco. not too cold. this is the best time of year to visit the city. 50s and 60s right now. so let's take a look at the highlights as we head into the overnight hours, just a few patches of fog into the morning

commute time. warming trend continues tomorrow. looking at cooler weather sunday and monday if you don't like the warmup that we're in. a live picture right now. we do have a great view looking across the bay. fog is not an issue. tomorrow morning, the few patches of fog will be locally inland around 8:00 a.m. and then more widespread by tomorrow night. keep that in mind. limited in the morning, a little more widespread by evening along the coast. first thing tomorrow morning, mid forts to mid 50s. you will not want to leave home without that extra layer. tomorrow afternoon, you can get away with shorts and short sleeves. look at the south bay. temperatures on the warm side. gilroy, low to mid 80s. on the peninsula, looking at 76 in palo alto and mountain view. half moon bay, 67 degrees. downtown san francisco, close to today's levels, low 70s. 65 in daley city.
