continues his quest to get his plane deal back. >> a judge stunned derrick almena and the rest on of us when he threw out a deal because he said almena didn't show enough remorse. amy hollyfield is here with with what happens next. ? he says he has always been remorseful about this fire. his attorney say he is very sorry. today he and his lawyers will try to convince a judge about that remorse. it was going to be an exchange for a nine-year sentence. but the judge rejected the deal saying he didn't think he showed enough remorse. the night of the fire was nearly two years ago. it was so full of art and furniture, victims found trouble finding the exit and couldn't get out. 36 people died. max harris, co-defendant, has decided to go ahead and go to

trial. both have been in jail since june of last year. reggie, alexis. >> thank you, aim y. now to fairfield. a wild story where a man is dead after police say he was shot by his romantic partner, possibly during a kidnapping. okay. so in fairfield, a chase ended on east travis boulevard and dover avenue. the 24-year-old female passenger was shouting at an officer through her window claiming she was kidnapped. they say she shot the 22-year-old driver, who then died from his injuries. after the crash, crews first pulled out a 10-month-old baby. >> i was so shocked there was a baby in the car after this big accident. i said oh, my god. and the baby was crying. >> the baby was being passed from firefighter to firefighter. >> police say the baby was dama control after a "new york times" article that they gave lucrative

exit packages to those accused of sexual harassment. it reads in part, in the last two years, 48 people have been terminated for sexual harassment, including 13 who were senior managers and above. none of these people received an exit package. congresswoman jackie speier held a discussion in san mateo about overcoming sexual trauma. >> i'm hoping that the ceo is going to take a strong public stand about this issue. and also make sure that zero tolerance is indeed not just words but actions. >> the e-mail says google has made a number of changes in recent years and the company reviews every complaint about inappropriate contact. tightening the reins of utility companies. pg&e needs a wildfire plan in place by mid-2019.

for the passengers we spoke with, it's not even close. what's more important, security or privacy? >> for me, security. >> it's best to have safety. i would rather safety more than privacy. >> reporter: the bart board said it was trying to beef up both safety and privacy with a package of new security measures to be installed in the coming years, along with guidelines tore how they can be used and how long data can be kept. >> the police department is working with bart i.t. department, mechanical and engineering working together to bring these things together. >> reporter: one of those is a mobile app to help riders find the closest bart station. it will require your location to do so. bart also plans to add to the 4,000 cameras they already have and upgrade them all to digital to deter them. cameras hope they help to catch

out of 10 adults in the u.s. were vaccinated against the flu last season. 49 million came down with the virus. and 79,000 people died. when it comes to u.s. volcanos few pose as high of a risk as mount shasta. the 14,000 foot peak north of reading ranks 5th on the u.s. geological survey latest volcano threat assessment. number one, not a surprise, kilauea in hawaii. that tops the list of 18 in the nation classified as a very high threat because of seismic activity and proximity to people. next is mount st. helen's. and mt. ranier in washington and one in alaska. there are 161 active volcanos in the u.s. in case you were wondering, kilauea has stopped erupting. no reports of lava for more than a month. it exploded may 17th, raining lava and ash for miles over the big island for months.
