up in that whale's tail. we drove over to check it out and saw a big humpback whale swimming around in a big counterclock wise circle and i called the coast guard and called noaa. no one else came and then we decided to get sam in the water to set him free. >> what would have happened if you didn't get involved? >> i'm pretty sure it would have died. you know? it was being held up on the surface with the buoy and then the gear was being attached to the bottom of the ocean, so it was swimming around in tight counterclockwise circles because it was held down to the bottom of the sea floor. >> when you watch the video are you guys like, whoa, what did we do? that was crazy. >> yeah, it was crazy to get this on video too. because it was a long endeavor. it was difficult to film it because i had one hand out the ndownd i was trying to put it out the window and yell at sam. it was crazy.
