>> and whatever god anyone worships, whatever languages they speak or their grandparent's speak, wherever they live, whatever party they are affiliated with we cannot tolerate in our country these kinds of acts of violence. >> harris was campaigning for florida democrats in miami. the social media site where bowers made some of his anti-semitic statements is struggling to stay online. gab has been cut off from some bay area companies and has been forced to switch web hosts. abc 7 reporter lillian kim has the story. >> reporter: gab describes itself as a free speech alternative from facebook and twitter. >> it's certainly a community of people who have very strong opinions that don't hesitate to share them even when it constitutes hate speech. >> reporter: but now the 2-year-old social media site says it's working around the clock to keep gab online after it became known that bowers used the site to post anti-semitic

messages. although it released a statement saying gab unequivocally disavows and condemns all acts of violence, san jose's paypal canceled the account, and stripe said it was suspending transfers to the site's bank account. >> right now it seems the answer silicon valley has come up to try to silence these extremists is to cut off their oxygen supply, whether it's to shutdown their access to these services or shutoff their ability to get stuff like funding. >> gab charges access through additional features and raises money through crowd funding as well. the site is now exploring ways to stay afloat despite the companies that have cut them off. >> i think they're going to take what's already the dark edges of the internet and go further underground and even darker. so may may lose their closer than main stream audience but the dedicated racists and

on the pensu s mateo police are trying to find out what went wrong after a kayak aftea boat hit the 15-year-old boy. officers looked at both the kayak and the boat to learn more about what happened. they say today's crash is reminder for everyone who enjoys the water to be careful. >> we take these very seriously

and, you know, it's not just during the summertime but boating accidents like this could happen at any time, and people should cruise caution while they're out on the water. >> investigators tell us the person who had been operating the boat is cooperating with them. paramedics rushed the injured boy to stanford medical center which specializes in treating trauma victims. in the east bay police in dublin have arrested the man in connection with a terrifying carjacking at a gas station saturday morning. 28-year-old travis byrd was taken nyc custody in oakland. he's accused of trying to kid nap and car jack a woman who had stopped at this chevron station. the victim managed to escape from the vehicle but police say byrd violently dragged her back into the car. a bystander helped free the victim. police say byrd left with her car taking her to east oakland. that's where he was captured. in the south bay drivers and shoppers endured headaches today

washington. searchers have starting to find wreckage after the crash of a brand new passenger jet in indonesia. the debris includes large pieces of lion-air jet along with smaller items belonging to the 188 passengers and crew. it crashed a few minutes after taking off from jakarta. flight tracking records show the boeing 737 max 8 entered flight in august. authorities today confirmed the owner of one of the most popular soccer teams was among those killed shortly after it left a match yesterday. the owner of the lester city football club, two of his players and passengers were killed in the wreck. air active investigators have been deployed to the site to figure out what caused the hel kaur copter to go down. thousands of migrants remain on the move towards the border
