w to latest in the pittsburgh synagogue shooting that left 11 worshippers dead. robert bowers is expect indeed court for his first hearing today. the victims range from 54 to 97 years old. three injured officers remain hospitalized. we have seen support from all over the world, including the bay area. amy hollyfield is live in san francisco with more on how local communities are coming together. amy. >> reporter: hi. good morning, alexis. there was a vigil here last night at temple emmanuel here at lake here in san francisco. it was a great turnout. there was a line to get inside. there are two other vigils schedule indeed san francisco today, but this was held last night. they prayed for peace and comfort. they read the names of the shooting victims aloud.

the incident to police. she said she decided to share the video so she could be "the voice" for others. there is a boost to push recycling waste in san francisco. a city committee is expected to vote on a proposal that would crack down on how well different places are sorting trash and recycling. according to the examiner, the department of environment would audit businesses like hotels, grocery stores, and city-owned buildings. if they fail the audit, they would have to hire someone to sort the recycling for two years. your voice, your vote. early voting was made available earlier than ever this election season. abc 7 was at city hall where hundreds of people made their voice heard. turnout is expected to be higher than usual this year. early voting may be your best bet if you don't want to wait in line. >> there's no lines here. we have a very full staff here to receive voters by the

there is a security seal shoe notice along the opening of the pump. if you see the seal is broken, don't use that gas. go to the attendant right away and report it. in the east bay, one of two eh fe is expected back in court today. derrick almena's attorney will argue a judge wrongly rejected a plea bargain deal. the motion was set to be on friday, but a judge postponed it until today. another judge rejected the plea agreement because he did not feel almena was remorseful. he would plead no contest to 36 counts of involuntary manslaughter in exchange for nine-year prison sentence. your voice, your vote. san francisco spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to get non-citizens to vote. a few dozen residents actually signed up.

non-citizen parents can vote for school board members in san francisco. the chronicle reports san francisco paid $310,000 to set up this registration system and urge people to register. but only 49 people did that. that works out to $6,300 per voter. a security breach containing 10,000 customers. a laptop was stolen last month. it contained names, prescription drug information and other health information. there are several stores in the bay area. 19 dogs just graduated from the pets and vets program.
