it will be upgraded to a red flag warning. for now it starts at 11:00 this evening through 6:00 wednesday morning. guests up to 55 miles per hour out of the northeast. humidity levels down to 10% to 20%. so fires can start quickly and spread rapidly. gusting to 37 on mt. tam. 48 to 55 this morning. 60 to 65 at noon. more sunshine this afternoon. right where we should be, in the 60s and 70s. sue? >> we have a couple of trouble spots this morning. first coming off the altamont pass. you get back to the limit only to find this waiting for you. 580 near hacienda. two to three vehicles involved. 101 petaluma south, six vehicles. it's off to the shoulder. looky-loos have things slowed even more through petaluma this

gab unequivocally disavows and condemns all acts of terrorism and violence. you can find out more about gab and the local impacts at abc7news.com. on the peninsula, san mateo police are trying to find out what went wrong after a teenage kayaker was badly hurt on the water. a boat hit the 15-year-old boy in a slew. they looked at both the kayak and the boat to learn about what happened. they say today's crash is a reminder -- or yesterday's crash is a reminder for everyone who enjoys the water for everyone to be careful. >> we take these very seriously. it's not just during the summertime, but boating accidents like this could happen at any time. people should use caution while they're out on the water. >> the person who had been operating the boat is cooperating with them. paramedics rushed the injured boy to stanford medical center, which specialized in treating trauma victims. in the south bay, drivers, shoppers and business owners had a rough time after a water main

break in sunnyvale. nbc 7 news was at lawrence expressway while crews worked on repairs. lack of matter forced at least one nearby business to close for several hours after the main rupture yesterday. the 10-inch pipe was more than 60 years old. there's a push to raise recycling. a proposal would crack down on how well different places are sorting trash and recycling. according to the examiner, the department of the environment would audit businesses like hotels, grocery stores, and city-owned buildings. ? they fail the audit, they would have to hire someone to sort the trash and recycling for two years. a vote is expected thursday. a disturbing discovery for a couple inside their bedroom on a cruise ship. the warning for others this morning. plus, the cannabis court battle today that could have implications for the entire industry. >> you're never more than 7 minutes away from my accuweather forecast.

we are searching for a shooter in a nightclub shooting that sent seven people to the hospital overnight in riverside. police responded and found two people shot. medics took them to the hospital a short time later. five others showed up also for gunshots. the victims are expected to be okay. according to a flyer, it appears they were hosting a halloween event inspired by "the purge" movie. so far police have not announced any arrests.

a disturbing found on a carnival cruise ship. a couple found a hidden camera pointed at their bed. their interview with "inside edition" is set to be released today. it happened during a caribbean cruise last october. they called carnival security who inspected it and took down the device. they said a video transmitter was found. carnival said it was not connected to a power source and was not capable of recording. the couple claims it was recording and they could feel the heat coming from the device. >> oh, wow. that is definitely concerning. a trial in denver, colorado that could be far-reaching effects on the cannabis industry. a couple claims the smell near their property is driving down the value. tax evaluations show the property's value is actually increasing. a trip to a local haunted house has plenty of surprises. but one north bay man gave his girlfriend a scare no one saw happening. catherine and kevin fischer

love halloween. on one of their first dates they went to the blind scream haunted house in rohnert park. they decided to go back last weekend with a dozen of their friends. just as they reached the museum of oddities, one of the scary actors handed catherine an object from a cabinet. it turns out it was an engagement ring. kevin got down on one knee. she shrieked, not in terror but of delight. >> i was not expecting it to happen at that time. i thought that it seriously was a secret room we were going to go through. i was genuinely surprised. >> she said yes. kevin said they both love haunted houses. t, k they ulto ti. foa ve lon and the happy couple plans on getting married next october but definitely not at a haunted house.

all right. you're never more than 7 minutes away from my accuweather forecast. the fire danger is getting closer to coming to fruition tonight. it starts at 11:00. the fire weather watch. conditions are possible we could have winds up to 55 miles per hour. humidity down to 10%. that means through 6:00 wednesday morning, fires could ignite and spread rapidly. if this looks even more likely in the next couple hours, this will be upgraded to a red flag wrarpb warning, which i think it will be. go bikes will be installed near the 24th and mission branch library just a block away from the train station. it's a compromise between a

gather at two events in san francisco tonight. the first at chabad of sf/soma shul on natoma. and the second on dolores and 16th. they both start at 7:30. we are honor the victims on the abc 7 news facebook page. we have listed all the names of those who lost their lives in saturday's attack. >> at the live desk, we are tracking the lion airplane crash investigation in indonesia. this morning investigators have found human remains. they say they don't expect any survivors. 189 passengers and crew were on board lion air flight 610. this is new video of the debris search. the flight crashed shortly after takeoff yesterday. the plane was cleared to return to the airport after making a request two to three minutes after leaving. they are still trying to figure out what exactly went wrong. the aircraft was brand-new.

a boeing 737 max 8. it had just been delivered in august. in the east bay, the navy is among three agencies set to give app update about the cleanup efforts at the former concord naval weapons station. concord city council hopes for clarity during tomorrow's meeting about possible contaminated soil in the area. the same company in charge of the disputed cleanup at hunters point is heading the effort in concord. in may, two former employees of tet extra tech pleaded guilty to falsifying records about the cleanup. plans include building about 12,000 apartment units and more than 6 million square feet of retail space. you are never more than 7 minutes away from my accuweather forecast. temperatures in the south bay. upper 40s to low 50s in most neighborhoods. 47 in alum rock. a little bit warmer in milpitas and mountain hills. 53 to 55.

co front. then slide south late this afternoon. 77 l.a. 92, palm springs. a look at the seven-day forecast and tahoe shows temperatures in the 50s the next two days. warm and dry again this weekend. thanks, mike. the man accused of sending pipe bombs to prominent democrats is expected in a florida courtroom today. new developments about a bay area man who had a package addressed to him. matt killer live in burlingame. matt? >> reporter: good morning, reggie and alexis. back to normal business here at this post office in burlingame. this is the place where they found the suspicious package friday. one of several places across the nation. now the man who sent that package here and is accused of sending that package here is scheduled to be in a florida courtroom later today. now, the package discovered here was addressed to tom authorities believe it was sent by cesar sayoc, a man with an

extensive criminal history and trump supporter. similar devices were sent to a dozen other prominent democrats and cnn. steyer blasted the president on cnn for his violent rhetoric, riling up supporters. >> he does not understand that in a civil society the kind of rhetoric that he uses, his attacks on the press, are absolutely wrong. >> reporter: after that appearance on cnn, president trump called him a crazed and stumbling lunatic in a tweet yesterday. steyer called it unthinkable that trump would resort to name-calling instead of restoring the fabric of our country. he is expected to be moved at a later time to new york. matt keller, abc 7 news. thank you, matt. east bay, the suspect in a carjacking at a gas station is off the streets this morning. officers arrested travis byrd in

oakland. a foot chase through back yards in 83rd avenue and a street. he is accused of trying to kidnap and car-jack a woman who was stopped at this chevron on san ramon road early saturday morning. the victim managed to escape from the vehicle but byrd violently dragged her back into her car. a by stander, thank goodness, helped to free the woman. he left in her car, drove to east oakland, where officers found it. credit card skimmers have been found on gas pumps. >> the department posted these photos of tampered gas pumps. they pried the outer seam and installed the skimming device behind the credit card reader. all gas pumps from a security seal. drivers who see the seal missing or broken should report the pump to the station attendant immediately. in the east bay, one of two suspects in the deadly ghost ship warehouse fire is expected back in court today.

derrick almena's attorney will argue a judge wrongly rejected a plea bargain deal. the motion was set to be heard on friday but a judge postponed it until date. his attorneys want it rein stated. another judge rejected it because he felt almena did not appear remorseful when victims' families spoke in court. he would plead no contest to 36 counts of involuntary manslaughter in exchange for a prison sentence. the other defendant plans to take his case to trial. your voice, your vote. san francisco spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to get non-citizens to vote. a few dozen residents actually signed up. the chronicle reports san francisco paid $310,000 to set up this registration system and urge people to register. but only 49 people did that. that works out to $6,300 per voter.

heads-up if you shop at rayle. >> a security breach a affecting 10,000 customers. a pharmacy laugh top was stolen. it contained names, medical records, prescription drug records and other health information. they are working to determine whether the data has been accessed or misused. there are several rayle stores in the bay area. ibm making a big move to the cloud. it is buying software company red hat for $34 billion. it's the third biggest tech deal in history and is considered the biggest shakeup in the industry this year. buying red hat is seen as a way for ibm to compete with phofl and amazon in the cloud business. the news sent ibm stock tumbling. it is down 3.28%.

however, red hat are up 50% this morning. if you invested in red hat the past few days, you're doing pretty well today. right now you can see how overall the new york stock exchange is doing. we're up 214 points. as you know, we have been down that much or more in recent days. for the first time we are hearing from the arizona man who fell into an abandoned mine shaft and survived three days before being rescued earlier in month. john waddell thought he was going to die. he was lowering himself in with a rope when he lost control and plunged 50 feet, breaking his left leg and ankle. not only did he survive without food and water he fought off rattle snakes at the bottom of the pit.
