>> live where you live, this is "abc7 news."ass shooting at the tree of life synagogue in pittsburgh this weekend. thank you for joining us. i'm dan ashley. >> and i'm kristen sze. the wheels of justice are moving for the accused gunman. we'll tell you about robert bowers, in a wheelchair, appeared in court today to face 29 charges in the killings of 11 people in saturday's shooting. >> he was wounded in the attack and released from the hospital today. the hospital's president says bowers was shouting "i want to kill all the jews" and says the first place who took care of him were jewish. >> the department of justice announced tan initiative of .il president trump will visit pittsburgh tomorrow. >> this tragic massacre in pittsburgh is reverb rating here

in the bay area. a jewish film festival is now beefing up security. >> david louie has this story from san jose. >> reporter: these silicon valley jewish film festival is using one of the 14 screens here, while the multiplex has its own security, the festival added armed security to give a sense of security to all the patrons coming to tonight's 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. performances. the film festival immediately hired armed security, to help protect the public. >> these are people that work for a private security company and are from various police forces, either retired or after hours work. >> reporter: the festival draws about 8,000 people over the course of four weeks. sunday, there was a show of solidarity. san jose city college math

professor asan raheem spoke to the audience. >> if you need more manpower, here we are. that's what my wife and i and others went there to say we are from another faith, but it doesn't matter. we are all in this together. whatever we can do, we'll do. >> reporter: the film festival has been under way for two weeks. one of tonight's feature films is a drama the support of people from other faiths has been touching. >> every community is offering help to help us out. safety, security, just to show love and it's really extraordinary. >> reporter: the festival staff and san jose police are declining to say whether they are providing any special details at tonight's

performances. live in san jose, david louie, "abc7 news." >> david, thank you very much. the community is invited to honor the victims and survivors of the synagogue shooting at two events in san francisco tonight. one is on 6th street, and another on color ii iis 16th st. >> we are honoring the victims on the abc7news.com facebook page. >> in the north bay, a field worker died this afternoon in an accident involving a great harvesting machine. napa sheriff department identified him as leon loua, a 49-year-old napa reresident. he apparently fell into the machine at the iconic vineyards in napa.

there does not appear to be any prior worker safety issues at that vineyard. a couple have been identified as the people who fell in yosemite last week. the married couple were natives of india. the college they attended posted this picture of the couple. officials haven't been able to find anyone who might have seen the couple fall. the couple had a travel blog and popular instagram account. earlier this year, she posted this photo from the grand canyon and wrote about the dapgers da standing too close to the edge of cliffs. happening now, the national weather service is warping of critical fire danger in the hills. compounding it is the dry, brown grass seen in this video near

sky 7 is live over the area of hop yard road, where a mountain lion has been spotted. police sent out an alert about 4:30 today. there is a business complex there, and police are escorting workers to their cars. california fish and game officers are also on the scene and working on a game plan. but police say there's no threat to the community and they are continuing to monitor what is happening there. we'll keep you posted as our helicopter flying over that scene. for month, attorneys for the ghost ship defendants have been talking about moving the case out of alameda county, but now there's a change in course. more now from laura anthony. >> we have withdrawn the prospect of filing a motion for change of venue. >> reporter: attorne for the ghost ship defendants now say if their clients go to trial, it

should stay in alameda county. >> we ascertain that the juries here in alameda are more favorable to our cause than other counties. >> reporter: he explained research showed perspective jurors in oakland and alameda county are more likely to sympathize with the two than those outside the area. both men face 36 counts of involuntary manslaughter in the december 2016 fire. inside a warehouse that had been transformed into a makeshift, live/work space for artists. while attorneys are hoping to have the plea deal reinstated at a hearing next month, max harris' defense team is fully committed to taking his case to trial. >> max harris does not want the plea bargain. he wants to vinld kadicate himst trial. we feel we can do that. the evidence is overwhelmingly in his favor.

>> they are the only two people facing criminal charges for the fire. but a separate civil suit names them as well as the city of oakland, pg&e, and the owner of the building. >> the owner of a building must make it safe, has a duty to make a building safe. >> reporter: at the criminal trial for both men is scheduled for next april. laura anthony, "abc7 news." the golden state warriors are being ordered to pay up ahead of their move to san francisco. an arbitrator the team must pay the remainder of the debt incurred in renovating oracle arena in 196. it's estimated the total is $40 million. the warriors argued that their lease obligations end in 2019. in a statement today, the warriors said in part, of course

winds increase in the hills overnight tonight. fire danger arises especially in the hills. let's take a closer look at the dama danger in the hills. we are going to notice that the high fire danger really starts late tonight, gusty hill top winds, dry vegetation with low humidity basically means that any fires that do start will spread quickly. please remain aware of their surroundings. a live picture from our walnut creek picture. it's not that breezy yet. 6:00 tonight, still the winds are fairly light until later tonight when we notice the winds begin to increase, going into the overnight hours. so 7:00 a.m., you'll notice the wind direction out of the north-northeast about 25 miles per hour, and napa, that is concerning as it will dry out our air even more. winds continue to gust tomorrow night. you can download the accuweather app and track the temperatures,

the wind, to wednesday morning they begin to subside, which is when the red flag warning will end. tomorrow morning, clear, windy in the hills. temperatures in the mid 40s to low 50s. tomorrow afternoon, a nice day. numbers will be coming up compared to today. 70 degrees in san francisco. 75 in oakland. so it's that wind that is going to cause the temperatures to rise. 77 in santa rosa. oakland, fremont, 75. 75 in san jose and 76 in santa cruz. i want to show you your hour by hour planner on halloween. temperatures in the 50s, sunny skies at noontime and halloween treat, 4:00 p.m., upper 60s to mid 80s. no extreme weather by nighttime. you'll notice that the temperatures begin to fall but it's not going to be terribly cold. they'll be just fine with a light extra layer underneath their forecasts.
