reflect the winds in the hills. 40s and 50s is the name of the game. the winds will ebb and flow throughout the day. it's breezy and bright with lots of sunshine. it's a mild day for the 30th of october. around the bay well into the 70s. our warmest spots inland going to near 80 degrees. that's weather. let's get a check of the roads with alexis. >> good morning. we still have some traffic alerts to talk about, drew. this we can barely not see it on this traffic camera, but a two-car crash before you get to the san mateo bridge toll once you make it to midspan, n earlier disabled vehicle. that has cleared. and we still have a sig alert for a crash getting into san francisco. northbound 101 before the 280 merge, we have a five-car crash. that's still blocking the three left lanes. they're working on getting more tow trucks to the scene. that's causing about a ten-minute delay. i would stick to 280 instead. next traffic update come up in

ten minutes. we're following developing news in the east bay. a child is in the hospital after he was shot last night. >> it happened on roblado drive in oakland near the san leandro border. amy hollyfield is at benioff children's hospital where that boy is this morning. >> reporter: the child was brought to this hospital but not right away. the shooting happened at about 7:30 last night in east oakland. it was on the border of san leandro on robledo drive. police are trying to figure out if it happened on the street or in a house. the child, though, was first driven in a personal car to san leandro's hospital. and then he was transferred here to children's. police did not say his condition, only that he is 3 years old. they are asking for any information, if anyone knows anything, they're asking them to please come forward and call the police department. reporting live in oakland, amy hollyfield, abc7 news. >> thank you. the president will travel to

pittsburgh today in the wake of the deadliest synagogue shooting in u.s. history. and it comes on the same day funerals for the victims begin. brothers cecil and david rosenthal and daniel stein will be laid to rest this morning. the father of another victim, rose mallinger released a statement, lovingly called bubby, her family says age was just a number. she retained her sharp wit, humor and intelligence until the very last day. no matter what obstacles she faced, she never complained. she did everything she wanted to do in her life. we will truly miss her presence and company. rabbi says he can still hear the gunshots that claimed the lives of 11 worshippers saturday. >> immediately, i announced to my congregation, drop to the floor, do not move, don't utter a sound. be still. heusd robert bowers was

expressionless as he sat shackled to a wheelchair for his first court appearance yesterday. he is due back in court before a judge on thursday. abc7 news was in san francisco where people gathered to remember victims and survivors of the shooting in pittsburgh. rabbis led the group in song and prayer, sharing the message that kindness to others and strength in the community are the best ways to overcome the worst of times. the attack is forcing a film festival in the south bay to hire armed security officers. abc7 news was also in san jose where the silicon valley jewish film festival runs through november 11th. people from a nearby islamic center are offering to volunteer to monitor the festival. christian churches have also offered their support. the president ordered flags lowered as a sign of respect for the victims of the tree of life

e shooting. the man accused of mailing explosives to prominent democrats and cnn will be court on friday as authorities find another suspicious package. >> a package was intercepted at a postal center in atlanta addressed to cnn's headquarters. it was similar to the other 14 packages allegedly sent by cesar sayock. these are sketches from the hearing where a judge ordered him to be held without bail. he'll have another detention hearing on friday. michael moore is releasing footage of sayock. he says it gives us a glimpse of him in action. he's holding an anti-cnn sign yelling at journalists who gathered for the rally in melbourne, florida. on his van he also had a picture of moore in cross-hairs. in the east bay, new details involving a human skull found in west oakland last week. the alameda county sheriff's office now believes the case is connected to a male torso

discovered in the same general area about a month ago. the skull was found in the backyard of a home on the corner of 29th and west streets friday morning. investigators believe the skull is part of a decomposed and somewhat mummified body found in a building on martin luther king jr. way. so far, no word on the cause of death. the coroner is working to identify that person. new at 6:00 -- san francisco considering sending inmates to alameda county. according to "the examiner" the hall of justice is at risk of collapsing during an earthquake. some san francisco officials oppose building a new jail. they suggest sending inmates to alameda county as an alternative. san francisco's sheriff says she does not want to ship inmates across the bay. she would rather the city renovate the jail in san bruno to accommodate more inmates. a major milestone for a central subway construction in san francisco. at the live desk this

out there. let's get a check of the roads alexis. good morning. >> good morning. if you're trying to get into san francisco on the 101, the crash is northbound on the 280 split. we're trying to get an estimate on when the tow truck will get there. we had some injuries involved. that's causing about a ten-minute delay. you can stick to 280 for an alternate. we're hearing from chp that the westbound 580 flyover is back open. we had a large pothole that's now coned over. check out these delays getting out of tracy, 6 miles an hour on 205. 7 miles an hour on 580. not a lot of fun on long that stretch. relief for business owners and drivers near san francisco's union square. according to the examiner, stockton street will reopen to traffic this winter. it's been so long it's been closed between geary and market.

cease and desist orders to the president. according to "usa today," a coalition of consumer and public safety advocates are hoping a major study from the michigan medical school will spark some change. they sent a letter to the federal trade commission asking the government agency to investigate the preschool app market and to end what they insist are deceptive practices. a developing story now out of los angeles. authorities say actor william daniels stopped an attempted robbery at his home. the 91-year-old is best known for his role as mr. feeney in the hit '90s sitcom "boy meets world." according to tmz, it happened saturday night. a suspect tried to kick down his front door, but he jumped up and turned on the lights and it scared the suspect off. he and his wife are okay.

have crash past sunol boulevard. and there could be another one on andrade or same one, i'm working on the details. if you're traveling through the tri-valley and you were with us here early this morning, you probably know about this one. all back open after a crash in pleasanton on the west side of 680. a crash happened before 4:00 this morning. chp only told us a little bit. they said there was a short pursuit and a crash following that. you can see that vehicle that crashed right here. that was an suv. that was not a chp patrol car. abc7 news was there as that was being towed away. no one hurt in that collision. at one point, all lanes were closed but they reopened quite some time ago. now to breaking news on the peninsula. a family of eight has escaped a house fire in south san francisco. >> firefighters battled smoke and flames at the home on fairway drive early this yold

tonight san jose city leaders and other religious groups will meet at city hall for an interfaith vigil 5:00. we're ho the pittsburgh synagogue shooting on the abc7 news facebook page. you can share this badge, listing all 11 of the lives lost during saturday's attack. in the east bay, a mountain lion is back in the wild this morning after quite a scare in a pleasanton neighborhood. >> officers hauled the cat out of the bushes after tranquilizing it last night. they shot it with tranquilizer darts several times. the alameda county sheriff's office brought out the drone to keep an eye on the vehicle. it was first spotted in the area of hopyard road around 4:30. it was in bushes near an office park full of people. >> we came outside. there were police waiting for us, security guards, escorting us to our cars. i wanted to stick around and see what happens. >> officials say the mountain lion is a 9 to 12-month-old male and appears to be healthy. your voice, your vote.

yes. is it good? no. an australian couple on vacation in san francisco had their rental car broken into wednesday. the car was parked at fisherman's wharf garage for less than an hour. the thieves stole their suitcases, computers, medication and most importantly, passports. necessity called the police. >> we asked them to review the garage for us and they said they didn't have the manpower to do so. >> maybe you've heard that before from san francisco police when you call them. we called the police and they said that this should not happen. then the situation quickly changed. the couple says officers found and then delivered their passports and their luggage to their hotel in monterrey. because of this we reached out to several bay area police departments and asked, what should we do if thieves target our car? to report a car burglary call 911 if a break-in is in progress

or if it just happened. because the vandal could be nearby. if there's been some time that has passed, report the burglary online. you can still call if you want or you can go to the police station. in san francisco you can actually call 311. police in berkeley, san francisco and fremont say that they'll send an officer if the scene is, quote/unquote, fresh. in berkeley that means the break-in happened you shouunder ago. in san francisco it's when the burglary is in progress or police aren't busy with other priority calls. fremont says it will almost always send an officer unless there's a severe staffing shortage. apple expected to introduce some new tech gadgets today. the focus at the event in brooklyn will likely be on ipads and macs. that could mean new specs on the ipad pro and new macbook and ma last month.

6:54. here are seven things to know before you go. number one -- all lanes back open after a crash on interstate 580 in pleasanton. this was on the westbound side near 680. the chp would only say there was a short police chase and then a crash. and number two -- a red flag warning is in effect the next 24 hours for the north bay mountains, the east bay hills. winds gusting close to 55 miles an hour. low humid means fires can easily start and spread under these conditions. number three -- a 3-year-old boy is in the hospital after he was shot in oakland. this happened last night near the san leandro border. it's not clear what led up to the shooting. number four -- president trump apparently considering ending citizenship with an executive order. this would have an impact on children who are born here whose parents are not citizens. no word yet on a - president travels to pittsburgh in the wake of the deadly synagogue
