jessica and reggie. this was a blowout game last night. not a lot for fans to remember. but a lot of people on social media are talking about the cheerleader who took a knee. this is a picture of a gold rush cheerleader who took a knee during the national anthem before the kickoff. viewers didn't see it because fox and other networks airing nfl games won't televise the anthem live this season to diffuse the controversy. colin kaepernick was the first to take a knee in 2016. other players around the league followed suit. it became a big political issue when president trump called it unpatriotic. this appears to be the second time a cheerleader took a knee. the bay area news group reports two gold rush cheerleaders kneeled last year on christmas eve. i reached out to the 49ers for a

statement. i have yet to hear back. reporting live in santa clara, matt keller, abc 7 news. >> thank you, matt. a high-speed chase took police officers across the east bay. it finally ended with a violent crash and an officer-involved shooting. >> shots fired. >> it started yesterday afternoon as a call of an armed man in vallejo and quickly turned into a high-speed police chase on east bay freeways. it finally ended 30 miles away with a crash on international boulevard in oakland. vallejo police fired multiple shots at the driver after he tried to get out of his suv. the suspect was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. a police captain says one officer suffered minor injuries. no one else was hurt in the chase or the crash. officials saver the suspect was carrying a handgun and had assault weapons in his suv. also in the east bay, a father faces child abuse charges after his 3-year-old son managed to get a gun and shoot himself. 29-year-old kavani page, sr.

made his first court appearance yesterday. he is also being charged with being an ex-felon in possession of a gun. investigators say page admitted he had a gun hidden in the top of an entertainment cabinet. the boy apparently climbed into the cabinet and grabbed the loaded semiautomatic gun and shot himself. the child remains in critical condition. google ployees are demanding action from the company following a day of protests. at least 50 google campuses a across the bay area and the world staged walkouts yesterday. >> here are demands. they want an toned force arbitration and harassment cases. and they want a clear process for reporting safely and anonymously. >> sometimes they are the ones above them and in charge of

a san jose bishop is recovering after a serious fall. he actually injured his business. >> bishop patrick mcgraw was injured yesterday. the diocese says he would appreciate prayers. last month he named 15 accused priests and announced an internal investigation. a cruise ship suddenly tilted to one side and stayed that way for a little while. some passengers cutting their trip short. scooters are back on the streets of san francisco. some say is the companies are still breaking the rules. breaking news out of holster, two earthquakes just now struck. one up to 4.0 magnitude. some people getting a rude alarm this morning. we'll keep an eye on that and let you know if anythin does develop. a little shaky in holster and a salinas valley. still warmer than

avenue blocking two lanes has cleared. certainly quick work by emergency crews there at the scene. you do still have delays lingering from the parkway. another significant crash this morning, westbound 80 at buchanan cleared minutes ago. highway 4 to the maze, about 25 minutes for you. no delays across the bay bridge. southbound 101, san francisco to sfo, still in the green at 9 minutes. san francisco awarded scoot a permit under the promise it would make e scooters available in underserved communities. now according to the examiner, the bay view neighborhood scoot has dropped its end of the bargain. transit applicants say the problem may not be where the scooters are distributed but how many scooters are allowed on city streets. scoot is only allowed to have 625 scooters in san francisco. first tre too ny now too little. >> we can't seem to get this right.

cruise ship returns to shore. passengers photos show plates broken on the floor, the dining room. an electrical switchboard malfunction caused the ship to list for a minute. it never affected the safe operation of the ship, but it was scary. new at 6:00, a group of tesla investors wants the company's board to tighten control over ceo elon musk beyond the settle many with the securities and exchange committee. the investors are demanding several different things, including permanently separating the chairman and ceo positions. sec agreement requires only separating the jobs for three years. they also want to create a plan to limit the time board members can serve and diversifying the candidate pools for new directors. it followed a fraud charges over musk's tweets about taking tesla private >> she is a mother, an artist,

staying on top of breaking news. an apparent earthquake swarm this morning. the most recent quake hit at 6:22. that one a 3.8. it all happened in the last half hour or so near hollister.ister. a 4.1 and other quakes have followed between 2.1 and 3.8. so far no reports of any damage. but please let us know if you have have felt any of these and tweet us at abc 7 news bay area. an emergency meeting in san francisco to deal with the ongoing hotel worker strike. >> it has lasted a month. there are fears this is starting to eat into tourism revenue. amy hollyfield live at the marquis in san francisco. amy. >> reporter: they are just starting to chant.

compensated. they are fired up now. they started chanting right when we went live. they are excite build today's hearing, which starts at noon. amy hollyfield, abc 7 news. amy, thank you. two people and a dog are without a home after a big fire in engel side neighborhood. flames shooting through the roof at 10:00 last night. this home is on capital avenue near thrift street. they are still investigating how the fire started and nobody got hurt >> the family of a man shot and killed by oakland police officers is reacting to the body camera video just released by the department. >> get your hands off the gun! >> oakland police officers show and killed joshua pollack in march. we want to avoid showing you all the body camera video because parts of it are graphic. a lawyer for pollack's mother said the man did have a gun near him but says he was lying down

when he was shot. >> at no time did he get up, make an aggressive move toward anyone. >> the family is pursuing legal action against the police department. in a statement they say the oakland police department acknowledges any officer-involved shooting is heartbreaking for all involved and impacts our entire community. officials can't comment on the case because there is an internal investigation going on. the 44-year-old man accused of killing 11 people at a synagogue has pleaded not guilty to federal charges. >> in the wake of the shooting, a synagogue is trying to raise thousands of dollars to improve security. rabbi langer of chabad of san francisco he e-mailed to community members asking for donations. h said after consulting with security specialists, he realizes he needs to raise abou, best bolts, best glass and you want to insulate a room for
