night's game at levi stadium. it got ugly. >> mropolice made dozens of arrests. >> it's a fight between two 49ers fans that spread on social media. we have the story now from santa clara. >> reporter: last night's performance by the 49ers should have been a good enough reason for its fans to celebrate. this video showed two of them fighting during the game. a puzzling scene for those in attendance. >> it's concerning. i have seen some of the guys get up from the fights and i don't want to be that guy. >> reporter: a 31-year-old was arrested for felony assault and booked at the santa clara county jail. police say they were able to identify and locate the suspect before he could exit the stadium because the fight was quickly posted to social media, which law enforcement had been monitoring. >> to identify the person, find the person and apprehend them is

just fantastic work. it's the type of luck that we had at the stadiu given the technology as well as the security personnel. >> reporter: overall, police made 32 arrests for public intoxication mainly. it's the highest amount of arrests since 2017, police considered last night a win giving the rivalry between the 49ers and the raiders. more than 800 cameras monitored the action along with extra scurity and undercover police officers. >> when you look at a stadium, people act that way, it's usual by 1% of the crowd. i don't think that is necessarily niners or raiders. >> reporter: fighting at sporting events isn't new. they hope escalate.

destroy destroyed at a homeless camp. it started after noon. it was near the county administration building. the smoke was so thick it set off fire alarms in nearby buildings. no one was hurt. sadly, a dog was killed. this is the second fire at a homeless camp in the last two days. yesterday we were in richmond where a camp caught fire. again, no one was hurt. firefighters have to be ready for anything these days as the fire season seems to grow longer and more ferocious every year. eric thomas is live in concord where a fire training session was held today. >> reporter: as you hear that

bell back there, that's training class number 52 coming to the end of a long training day. they were training on structure fires today. while they were doing that, their instructors were planning on something completely different, wildland fires. it's week five for this fire academy class. today, they are working on fighting fires inside a burning building and wrestling with high pressure hoses to put water where it's needed. >> it's a very didactic and physical environment. they expect a lot out of us. >> reporter: while they work on maneuvers in tight spaces, their teachers are thinking about one of the future teaching evolutions, fighting wildland fires. >> we train the recruits in how wildland fire behaves. we train them in the safety related to responding to wildland fires. >> reporter: it's timely this weekend. a red flag fire warning goes into affect at midnight and lasts through sunday morning.

local vegetation is dry. the weather is not cooperating. >> we expect weather conditions, high heat and high winds, to be conducive to if we were to get a wildland fire to spread quickly. >> reporter: local residents saw how quickly it could spread in june when a brush fire scorched 360 acres, threatening a pair of subdivisions. a quick response helped beat the flames back. these new firefighters are learning that fires they face in the future are burning hotter and faster and claiming more property because of climate change. >> fire season is no longer fire season. we're at some level of wildland threat throughout the year. >> reporter: these folks have another 13 weeks of training to go before they will be out there fighting fires. strike teams will be in place in the county just in case monitoring the wind conditions and the heat conditions to see if fires will start as the chief

10% fairfield. single digits in napa. the dry conditions continue saturday afternoon. that in combination with the dry fuels spells high fire danger. >> thanks very much. a red flag morning means fires can easily start and spread. download the app to get alerts if that happens. on the marriott hotel strike, abc 7 news learns workers at the oakland marriott have reached a tentative agreement. they will vote on that tonight much the 200 oakland workers joined a strike one month ago. union representatives in san francisco tell us they are still far from an agreement with marriott. today, san francisco's supervisors held a special hearing on the battle. marriott did not send a representative to the meeting. the ceo sent a letter to a supervisor on the 31st informing her of the decision. a supervisor called it a letter of excuses and says she was disappointed. >> when thousands of san

franciscoians feel the need to lay down their tools and to walk off the job, it's a sure sign something is not right in our city. >> minor progress has been made in negotiations but they are more optimistic after today's meeting. >> we are committed to making the bay area a better place to live. we are putting more time and resources covering issues that impact your quality of life. >> as part of the strike at marriott hotels, we look into how hard it is to make a living. we have that part of the coverage tonight. >> even though the drums went silent for a short time today, as you can hear the workers are back on the picket line. not many of them wanted to go on camera. all told their story to me told. at times, it was heartbreaking. for the past 30 days, julian has been on the puckett line.

hybrids didn't exist and cell phones were larger than land line phones and o.j. was being chased in his bronco, that long ago, there was no tax. it would raise money for transit improvement and road and bridge repair. we have more on today's big rally. >> reporter: interesting fact. the state legislature decided last year that raising the gas tax 12 cents a gallon would help to cover the road repairs that immediate to be done. critics have argued it's an undue burden. yes on 6 would repeal the gas tax and no would leave it in place. over 200,000 vehicles drive daily over this bridge at interstate 280 at lawrence expressway. it's in poor condition. it was built in 1965. it was reconstructed 27 years ago. it's one example of the challenges of keeping up with an aging highway system.

>> we need to fix our roads. we need to fix our bridges. we need to make sure our local transit is ready for the task. this is a great opportunity to show the country that california knows how to invest in its future. >> reporter: governor brown is urging a no vote on proposition 6, which would repeal the increase in the gasoline tax. he was joined at a rally today by construction workers and firefighters and democratic lawmakers. 6,500 highway and road projects are under wway in california. their status in jeopardy if it is repealed. >> there are not democrat or republican or independent potholes. >> reporte: supporters argue last year's gas tax is a burden on people with limited income. they say it could be a savings of $800 a year. >> the gas tax needs to be lowered to a more sustainable
