this morning. amy. >> reporter: hi. good morning, reggie. we just got briefed by a sergeant. three people were shot here. a woman and two men. one man died here at the scene. a woman and a man were taken to the hospital. he said he does not know their condition. they got the call to come out 1:30 this morning. this happened in the area of the helen vine detox center. we are at smith ranch road. officials tell us they looked for the suspect. they brought in the chp's helicopter so they could look from above. they did not find anyone. they do not have anyone in custody. however, they did want to get the word out that this area is safe, that no one is in danger, that the neighborhood is okay. we asked if there was a possible motive, did it have to do with the detox center, the patients or anyone who worked here.
