school zrikts have shut down. a red flag warning expired hours ago and another likely for the weekend. to give you perspective take a look at the satellite image. all of that white from the campfi campfire burning. thanks for joining us. now take a look at the map of the campfire. fire has exploded in size. it was 20,000 last night.

on earth. reduced to ashes. we saw a super tanker fly by. with daylight there's more air support. winds have been picking up. conditions here are bone dry. abc 7 news. >> thank you. we have this sat news just into the abc 7 news room. the sheriffs office confirmed five people have died due to the campfire. they say the victims were in their cars and were overcome by their fire, by the smoke. they were found on edgewood lane which as we have been reporting was hard hit by the fire pretty much destroyed. five people confirmed dead. we'll have much more on this throughout the day on the abc 7 news app as well. we want to let you know they held a news briefing just outside sacramento to give a state wide efforts to fight the wild fires. >> currently we have roughly

sky 7 was over a triple fatal crash on eastbound 80 at highway 12. you can see a crushed car on that. no word on what lead to the accident or if more than one car was involved it was shut down but it has sense reopened. the fire is burning in southern california are

effecting first responders and mourners in the thousand oaks bar mass shooting. this comes as the community rallies around the survivors. abc news reporter is in thousand oaks with the newest developments. >> it is a horrifying 24 hours for the people here. you can still see behind me there are authorities investigating. there is crime scene tape everywhere. we are starting to see ash falling from the sky because of the fires that are burning just right over there. so people who have now been evacuated from their homes in this area have nowhere to go it has been terrifying. we were evacuated from our hotel early this morning. we were seeing people with their dogs. many had to respond to if mass shooting. it hass been incredibly hard for this community to come together

brown throughout the day because of that smoke. a couple of tips if you're going to be out and about. if you're susceptible to that keep the recirculating option on your ac in your car if you need it in the morning. it will keep most of the smoke out also. the smoke is so thick. you delays because of reduction in visibility. look at temperatures. they are being held down a little bit because of filtered sunshine. santa rosa you the thickest smoke. temperatures in the 50s and rest of us in the low to mid-50s. spare the air. no wood the warm temperatures will continue. it will increase tomorrow with that fire danger. we are never seeing marine layer fog to come back and try to

clean our air out. same thing, 70 to 73 on the peninsula. near 70 in san francisco this afternoon. mid-70s throughout the north bay. 72 to about 73 along the east bay shore. around 72 to 76 in the east bay valleys. here is where they break down. it is hazy and hazy and we'll see stars and haze and temperatures will drop a little bit quicker tonight. we have dry air and really some of the driest air we have had. we have had no wind and cloud cover to keep the heat up a little bit. mid-to upper 30s here. throe mid-40s around the bay. san francisco around 48 degrees. let me tell you something close to my heart now. it is a walk to end alzheimer's. many of us will be at at&t mark to help find a cure. nobody has ever survived alzheimer's. also, a quick look.
