there, and 60s in mountainview, and 40s in morgan hill, and those northeasterly winds are allowing for some areas to the feel better at times. looking at the golden gate bridge, it is looking better, but it is going to change again. a and the air quality overall is poor. 69 in livermore. and the visibility has been changing from four miles to six miles to better at sfo. the beach is looking good in santa cruz, but the hazy skies and spare the air alert with temperatures in the low the mid-60s. and the red alert flag because of the northeasterly wind blowing the smoke from the camp fire our way. and i will further the detail that the alert in a moment. >> thank you. the butte county fire is now the deadliest in state history. 23 people have died and

others injured. it is 109 achers and only 5% contained. governor gavin new sosome tweet out some pictures and thanking the first responders for their work. this is a map here of the perspective of the size of the camp fire. if it were burning in bay area, it would go from san francisco to the peninsula past san mateo. and the air quality is of concern or for m. and the cameras on top of mt. tam captured some of the smoke, and it is going to be worse today. lisa? >> yes, the red and the orange is indicating the poor air and looking at that, you will see that some of the better air quality up to the sacramento valley and the north and the northeasterly winds is going to be pushing it up ahead, and notice the oranges there from the peninsula to the east bay, and overall, it is not a good day to be outside, and looking at a santa cruz and the poor a air quality and the northern bay

and what is the latest overnight compared to last night? >> compared to the last night, and starting with the camp fire, we are looking at 109,000 the ache ers, and plus the containment went up a nickel from 22% to 27%. and we are in red flag warnings again and the winds are not as strong as they repredicted, bhoufr, we are looking again at significant winds later tonight. anything can happen at any given time as we are speaking, and due to the extreme dryness of the vegetation, and the topography that the firefighters are dealing with as well as the weather which a predominant factor coming into the play here. previous day and a half or so, the winds were not calm, but low enough to where the firefighters were able to really make a difference on the ground and in the air. the woolsey fire, and we are

look looking at at 83,275 acres but now we are getting containment nu numbers and 10% containment as of this morning up from 70% yesterday. and a lot of the evacuations took place in the area as well as the the structures destroyed. hill fire, and good news here holding at 4500 a acres and noup to the 70% containment. a and the resources on that are more than likely have been and will be moved up to the other two. >> scott, you from chico, and i worked in chico for eight years and looking at the fire that the burned in paradise, and just devastation, and how close the chico? we saw the honey run bridge was destroyed by the flames. >> right. the canyon has had fire come all of the way down to the skyway. skyway fire followed that all of the way down to chico. the outskirts of chico, and if you remember where that is north and south, the fire reached that

road on the eastern part of chico, and if you can keep in mind that area is a all grass, and the firefighters were able to the soemt backfires or burn operations to take the fuel out ahead of the fire. there is no wind when it hits that area, and the first night, so it did not really promote fast or hard. >> and 23 people killed in the fire, and at least that is the number right now, and i know they are talking about more than 100 still missing, and what are some of the difficulties getting to the homes and trying to figure out and trying to find these people. i know that there must be six or seven evacuation scenters and most of them are full. >> correct. you are talking about tens of thousands of individuals. to the paint a picture, paradise is basically on the ground. devastated. some buildings are still standing, and we did a quick check for some folks that we know up there yesterday. but it is just so widespread and so massive and the trees re

recovering to 59, and 59 in concord. so the winds have allow in order the temperature ts to be much, much warmer at this hour. 20 to 25 degrees warmer here in the red, but, as we are getting a little bit of mixing from the north and the northeast, it is also blowing that the extra dry brush around, and that is not a good scenario with the winds over 49 miles per hour, and gusting on top of mt. st. helena and we are concerned a about that. and also in mt. tam and the oakland hills and the east foothills and we are going to the continue the watch these. by the afternoon, they will settle down, but looking at the visibility changing because of all of the mixing above 2,000 feet. while it is not so great in oakland and concord, it is getting better at times in the city up in napa where i have heard from some of you up in santa rosa is and mountain theview, but it is going to be poor air quality as more smoke from the camp fire continues to drift into the bay area, and there is mt. tam, and gusting offshore winds and smoky skies

state history, and nearly 6500 homes have been destroyed. i it has charred 109,000 acres. and now n chico, a honey run covered bridge was built in 1886 and believed to be the last three span pratt style bridge and the last of its kind in the u.s. it was added to the historical register in 1988. the fire destroyed the structure, and the bright red trusss that kept it above the butte creek are now charred. today a half marathon and 10k have been canceled today after consulting with agencies, and all registered run verse been e-mailed about the cancellation. disappointment for high school student, because one of the premier high school marching band location has been canceled. the band association was

4:00. we are seeing the winds gust at 2,000 and 3,000 feet and over 40 to 50 miles per hour. this is why the fires can spread rapidly. and with the dry air in place, and the ridge of high pressure over us, and capping the atmosphere with the smoke pushed down to the surface in some areas, this is doppler 7, and we will widen the perspective, and what is going on in the pacific norts west? it is dry, and the storm track is well into canada, and it looks like the next seven days, we won't see much change in the storm track. this is sutro, and you can see it in mountain view as well as the upper 60s. mild and 66 degrees, and from santa cruz, it is mild as well, but you can see the haze. low the mid-60s for most of you from concord to livermore, and while you are getting the mixing from the northeasterly winds throughout the day, the smoke is going to pile up from san francisco on southward.

some of you waking up to clearer conditions, and definitely warmer for all of the wind coming into play. as we are looking for the wind in the upper elevations, you can see it from 39 to 47 miles per hour in the north bay and not to be outdone, you can check out oakland hills, and looks like from 11:00, the winds will peak, and dial back in terms of the speed, but not directon. we will continue to see that overall northeasterly push of the wind, and that is going to bring more smoke into the bay area. the surface winds by the delta and gusting to the 28 miles per hour, and once again, the direction is all out of the north and northeast, and visibility right now is changing from four miles in hayward to ten miles in napa and seven at the san carlos airport, and from the other vantage point, you will get the idea of how the things remain unchanged and so with the lid on the atmosphere and twinhe winds gusting, and sy

skies and poor air quality and looking at the dry zseven days and with the wind blowing out at the northeast, at times that is a good thing, but not with the direction of the air and the dry bush, so we are getting the mixing and blowing that tinder dry brush and bringing the relative humidity down to very low levels. here we are at 4:00 in the afternoon and finally looking at the calmer winds, but in terms of atmosphere and how dry it gets, it is driest right in the afternoon, and then by the overnight hours hopefully things will pick up and bring more moisture, and not really only 23% in napa and 43% in oakland. we will take you into monday and very dry out there still, so let's check out the next seven days and getting the rain into the pacific northwest and that is going to take weekend, and nothing is busting through the ridge. it has been mild to start out, and we will continue to see the

san francisco will say thank you to veterans today at the 98th annual veterans day parade. it starts at 11:00 a.m. on the embarcadero, and no traffic will be allowed from jefferson and the embark dcadero. also in san francisco, servicemen and women will be honored at the presidio officers club, and they will highlight the buffalo soldier all black unit during the filipino/american war there. is going to be a flag raising ceremony this morning at a 10:00, and all of the eventings will be dealing with the smoke outside. >> yes, looking at the mercury, the temperatures are mild, and in 56 in oakland and morgan hill, and another view from the east bay hills camera. it is going to bum you out with 62 in santa rosa and livermore at 62, and the upper level winds continue the blow. in oakland hills, out of the northeast, how about mt. st.
