significantly even in the last few minutes from twheu used that sensor. we'll look at drive times coming up next. thanks, alexis. the death toll continues to rise still burning in butte county. >> six more bodies were recovered bringing the number of deaths to 29. that means the camp fire is tied for the deadliest fire in state history. unfortunately more than 200 people are still missing. we know it is the most destructive fire in state history destroying more than 6700 homes and businesses. at least check, it is only 25% contained. this is an updated map of the camp fire. the majority of the town of paradise is gone. cal fire says they expect strong northeast winds through the morning as crews try to control the perimeter. fire crews have been working around the clock to stop the

camp fire spread. >> will carr has been on the ground all weekend. he is live for us this morning. will? 6. good morning, matt and jessica. it continues to jump every single day. you have to understand the extent of all the damage. not just a block like this that buned to the ground. you're talking about this entire city of paradise has been wiped off the map. 29 people killed in this fire. that is tied with the fire from back in 1933. we're told by sthorts that it will likely become the most deadly fire ever in california history. the fire destroyed 5700 homes and businesses in this area. it looks like a bomb went off here in paradise. first responders are working around the clock. they're exhausted. 90 first responders, including

30 firefighters actually lost their homes. we have been out here and talking to them. we saw one highway control man was trying to help a dog. it was lost, scared. the pause were burned. the patrolman helped to get the dog to shelter. afterwards told us that he lost his home. he was simply out here trying to do whatever he could to help out. guys? >> the firefighters so brave. continuing to work in that devastation. will, have you seen people showing up to see if there's anything left? any small item to pick up or are they told to stay away? >> authorities are not letting residents back into this area. it is a disaster zone, quite literally. people will line up at the roadblock every single morning hoping today will be the day they can get back in.

there is a massive search for people swhor still missing. that is top priority. you are talking miles upon miles. not only properties like this but there's a skeleton row of cars going along pretty much every street in paradise. they have to go car by car looking for potential bodies in there. we spoke to one resident who pleaded for us to stop by his house and give us a call and let him know if it's still standing. his home, much like this, burned to the ground. in the middle was a green coffee cup. he said if you could bring that down, that would mean a lot. we took it to him. it was just that one thing, that one possession that he could take away from his home that he truly appreciated knowing that he had lost everything else.

we're following developing news in southern california where two wildfires are burning out of control. firefighters worry strong santa ana winds tonight into tomorrow will fan the flames. the larger fire, woolsey fire is burning near ventura los angeles county borders. authorities say two people were found dead in a malibu driveway. three firefighters were hurt in the fire. they are expected to be okay. 177 structures have been destroyed. 57,000 more, though, are threatened. according to cal fire's latest update, the fire has burned more than 85,000 achers and is only

15% caped. a live look at the woolsey fire. you can see a lot of smoke and flames down there. 3200 firefighters are battling the flames. this morning five cities are still evacuated. westlake village, agoura hills, calabasas, hidden hills, and malibu. a family from agoura hills returned to their mobile home park and found their home destroyed. yesterday they searched through the rubble and found a safe which held their most prized possessions. >> it's so great because some of these things is important to us. in cases like this, worst scenario, this is all we can save after seeing all the houses just burned to ashes. >> the father's citizenship papers and the son's graduation photos are among the items saved. smoke is still an issue today. it sounds like the 49ers game

you. so is it's very scary. you have fire on the left, fire on the right, ash falling on you. >> just sitting there, we thought we were going to die. if we would have waited five more minutes, we wouldn't be here today. >> according to cal fire, when the camp fire broke out, it tore across 5,000 acres of land in just three hours. that is one football field every three seconds. sadly, or some people had to leave pets behind as they evacuated. redwood city fire department posted these photos on twitter after one of their crews found seven dogs and a litter of cats at a home in the fire zone. they gathered them together and made sure they are fed. they are doing okay. governor brown is still waiting for word on whether president trump will honor his request for a major disaster declaration. >> we are requesting presidential declaration funding coming from the federal government. of course there will be efforts from the state government as well. it's a time to pull together and work through this tragedy. >> the governor's request yesterday came a day after president trump blamed gross

we saw the remoteness of some of these flames. it is obviously important to get the water because it's so hard to get firefighters anywhere where they are. >> aerial supports so crucial. scott wright from kabc has been flying above all the devastation. >> he spoke to cecilia vega about the situation. >> well, good morning to you. basically over the malibu area. we think that really is where most of the concern will be this morning and into the day for firefighters along malibu canyon road. as we look south, this is mountainous terrain into the top the portion of your screen. a lot of homes you can't see nestled in the hillside. the real concern the next couple of days are the high winds. sadly, they are forecast to be with us until as late as wednesday. >> 25% we're told. can you see it from the sky?

we have a couple issues to talk about on the roads right now. we have a head-on crash on state route 92 next to state route 35 at the skyline. directions both ways blocked for emergency crews. a backup either side of 92. stick to 280 or highway 1 getting to or from the half moon bay area. a sig-alert any minute now. southbound 101, marsh road. we have a crash that is blocking at least the two left lanes, possibly the three left lanes. keeping a close eye on that one as well. sit light getting out of tracy. 65 on 205. one small stretch of heavy traffic 14 miles per hour on 580. a lot of folks do have the veterans day holiday off today. so we are seeing lighter volumes in most areas. thanks, alexis. next, the 7 things you need to know before you go >> first, our instagram picture of the day. and you can see a firefighter there from paradise really taking a moment.
