i have breaking news on our declining air quality in the bay area. let me give you a wide view and you can see how hazy it is. this is from our camera over in emeryville. the smoke and haze continue to get heavier and heavier. air quality is very unhealthy right now in the blocks indicated by purple there. you can see the red blocks for the other region around the bay area, unhealthful air quality. this alert remains in effect until next tuesday and we see no improvement coming our way any time soon. this graph indicates the levels of fine particulate matters in

the atmosphere. the particles that create the haze we see and pose a health threat because they get into our respiratory systems. notice san francisco have the poorest qualities in the bay area and other areas are poor as well, blocks in red. we move to along to show you another graphic and indicates how far outside the bay area to find clean air right now. red and purple dots indicate the poorest, most unhealthful air quality. orange and yellow are better but outside the bay area. the result of the declining air quality and potential health there, there's a list of school closures that include san francisco, oakland and santa fe unified school districts. there are others as well and they're all listed on our website. visit our website and check out all of the school closures for tomorrow. there will be more information on abc7 at 4:00. but i should mention with air quality this poor, everyone should limit exposure outdoors,
