wayne freedman, abc 7 news. hundreds of people lined chico streets this afternoon hoping to catch a glimpse of the president's motorcade. many were excited to see him, others had a tepid response. abc 7 news reporter carlos saucedo is live with more reaction on this. carlos? >> reporter: once the president toured the disaster zone in paradise, he came here to the incident base in chico, spending about an hour meeting with first responders. his visit drew large crowds. president trump's motorcade quickly made its way inside the incident base. >> we love trump. >> well, we love trump and also to support our servicemen that are helping. >> the president waving to dozens of people who lined the streets to catch a flimglimpse. among the trump supporters were protesters not happy with the presidential visit. >> i don't see any reason for him to come here. the whole town is trying to

now your accuweather forecast with drew tuma. >> in accuweather we continue to monitor the unhealthy air quality overhead right now. we're going to see a couple more days of the stagnant air math before we see relief coming our way with our next storm approaching midweek next week. live doppler satellite, we have dry skies overhead. we will track rain across much of the seven-day forecast. right now, though, the big story is certainly that air quality. we've been monitoring it all week. and today, little in the way of change. most spots you can see as we zoom in a little bit closer to street level, from san francisco, oakland, fremont, indicating unhealthy air quality at the current hour. very unhealthy over concord right now. inland east bay is seeing the worst smoke at this hour, the north bay not immune to the air quality right now, unhealthy at this hour. a lot of folks wondering where to get relief from the air quality. the closest place right now, south lake tahoe right now where

fresh air is dominating the forecast. take a look at the next couple of days and little in the way of change to our air quality unfortunately. snday into monday, the spare the air days do continue. in most spots you'll see will have unhealthy air quality. prepare to have the smoke overhead at least through monday afternoon in the bay area. overnight tonight, hazy skies, temperatures in the low 30s, mid to low 40s around the bay shoreline. tomorrow afternoon, another day of unhealthy air quality. a lot of spots will go into the 60s. when will we see relief from the smoke? that will come wednesday with our next storm approaching the region. on the storm impact scale, we use it exclusively here at abc 7 to rank storms, the one approaching wednesday, ranks a one. light to moderate rain. but the bigger story, that rain is going to bring us cleaner air along with the winds that will help to mix up the atmosphere

. >> announcer: now abc 7 sports. the air quality in san jose isn't great, but it was okay enough for san jose state to play nevada. kickoff was moved up two hours to take advantage of more favorable conditions. in the first quarter you see that ty gangee is picked off by ethan aguayo. things moving in the right direction. it set up a spartan touchdown. san jose state trailed 14-6 in the third when michael carillo who threw for 168 yards in two scores, 22 yards there today onpacker. in the fourth quarter, ran for 121 yards, nine yards there for the score, nevada holds on to win 21-12. spartans drop to 1-10. the big game was pushed back until next week, but one of the biggest rivalries in the pac-12 has no name and it took place.
