♪ to let our great state shine. ♪ let it shine, ♪ the power's ours to let it shine! ♪ >> announcer: now from abc7, live breaking news. right away getting to that breaking news, 49er linebacker reuben foster has run into trouble again. he's been arrested at the team's hotel in florida just hours before the 49ers are supposed to take the field. good evening and thanks for joining us. i'm dion lim. now, if you follow the 49ers, you know foster's history. he has a slew of legal problems since joining the team. give us an idea of what happened here. >> really the details are quite limited. but what we know from his booking report rll ges a good trges heas ahe tonight, a an an an of misdemeanor charge of

battery. foster was arrested at 9:10 local time and booked into county jail two hours later. no bond was immediately posted so he'll be spending the evening in jail. this is the fourth legal incident since he joined the 49ers. he served a two-game suspension at the start of this season in connection with a misdemeanor charge of marijuana possession in his home state of alabama. foster was arrested in february on domestic violence and weapons violations while living in the south bay. a semiautomatic rifle was found in his home at the time of his arrest. foster's ex-girlriend testified in court that she made up the accusation of abuse and a santa clara county court judge dropped the felony domestic violence charges but foster remains on probation in california after mieaweapons chge the9eff has said thedsrance for domesticce incident, the team did its own investigation and waited for the legal process to play we have reached out to the team and are awaiting a response.

what we do know is that reuben cannot see a judge until 7:20 tomorrow morning, so he will be spending the evening in a county jail. >> in florida there. mindy, thanks for the update. in other sports news, we do have an update on the warriors' steph curry. he was involved in a car accident yesterday on highway 24. curry appeared to be fine, but if you've ever been in a cash, you know sometimes injuries can pop up the next day. warriors coach steve kerr says curry went through a workout today and appears to be just fine. >> he is doing fine today. he went and played a little scrimmage today in the facility, didn't report any ancillary stuff from yesterday, and felt pretty good after he got off the floor. it's all good stuff. >> now, the guard is also recovering from a groin injury, haeen danro and deadlent has i

kriblted to a number of accidents including one which sent a chp officer to the hospital in the north bay. abc7 news reporter cornell barnard with the advice for drivers coming from the chp. >> reporter: a chp patrol unit sits undrivable and heavily damaged. its back window smashed after officers responded to a spinout on southbound highway 101 involving ed atherton's suv. >> it was foggy, drizzly. the roads were wet. >> reporter: the chp says officers were laying cones and flares when the driver of a toyota corolla lost control of her car and headed right for one of the officers. >> we are very fortunate that that officer was able to see ci. he jumped into the back of the patrol vehicle less than cla d t surve the crash. bay, a 24- san jose man and three others

injured in a suspected drunk driving crash early saturday on interstate 280. the chp says the driver who survived missed a curve at the highway 17 connector, struck a tree, and rolled over. >> losing control, spinning out. >> reporter: we rode along with chp police officer vu williams. he says speed will be the biggest hazard this rainy season. >> drivers slow down and drive appropriately for the conditions, we would not see nearly the amount of crashes that we see. >> reporter: so drive carefully and of course wear your seat belt. the name of the victim who was killed saturday on highway 101 has not been released. the chp injur ha relsed tin arabc7sed a lot accidents and even though we got a break today, more rain is on the way. abc7 weather anchor spencer christian joining us now with a look at when that next storm arrives. spencer. >> dion, it's not far away. just over two days away.

looking at live doppler 7, you can see we have mostly clear skies with some thin high clouds above. no hint of rainfall right now. on tuesday we have our next rainstorm coming in. it ranks 1 on the storm impact scale, will bring light to moderate rainfall beginning in the early hours tuesday, by midday it will have expanded southward and eastward. let's look at our forecast animation. starting at 5:00 tuesday morning, just as the morning commute is getting under way, it will be raining up around ukiah and cloverdale. that rain will advance southward and eastward. by midday, most of the bay area will be receiving at least some light showers. it will be heavier up in the north bay. then later in the day we'll see the rain continuing into the evening commute. e've got several days of wet week. i'll give you the dplecomplete forecast in just a few minutes. work is under way to repair the damaged docks at the san francisco ferry building after yesterday's ferry boat crash. katie utehs joins us near gate

b. will those repairs be done in time for the weekday commute? >> reporter: well, dion, there is still a sign of -- let me show you here. it's a notice, and it's for saturday, that the departures will take place at gate e. there is a temporary fence in place. repairs have been made. it looks like this gate will be fine for monday, but the damage the ferry boat, that's another story. crews cut and cleared the mangled metal and concrete at gate b along the san francisco waterfront. the cause of the damage - m >> rsenhi ga ferry's ms san francisco slamming into the dock near the slanted door restaurant fri sat crash did not faze passengers. >> it definitely does not stop me from wanting to ride the ferry. >> reporter: port of san francisco workers inspected the structural integrity of the

dock. the agency expects repairs to be complete by sunday. in the meantime, ferries are docking at different berths. >> it's a bit of an extra walk, but not really. >> reporter: passengers taking it in stride. >> when i got off here, they said to make sure you get back down here. >> reporter: the damaged ferry was towed back to larkspur and the u.s. coast guard is investigating the cause of the crash. >> so you see the first entry right there. >> reporter: passengers tell abc7 news the ferry first hit the dock of the golden gate ferry terminal, then crashed near gate b, all without warning. of the 53 passengers onboard, d't have any problem with it. this incident that happened, it's just a rare occurrence. i don't know the full problems. >> reporter: golden gate ferry has seven vessels in its fleet. it's unclear how long it will take to fix the ms san francisco. so with one boat down, there could be delays come monday. we'll certainly stay on it. live in san francisco, katie

utehs, abc7 news. >> we appreciate the update, katie. thanks. over in butte county, the number of dead in the camp fire has gone up again and is now at 85 people. the fire is also the most destructive on record, burning nearly 14,000 homes. 475 people are still unaccounted for. firefighters are making progress, and containment has gone up to 98%. evacuation orders are being lifted, allowing people to return to their neighborhoods to see if their home survived the inferno. a man from colorado delivered on a thanksgiving promise today to provide a family with an rv to use as a temporary home. james woody fairclaw turned to gofundme.com looking to raise money to buy an rv. he also reached out to more than 100 rv owners hoping to buy one at a discounts. one man responded and sold a motor home to faircloth for $2,500. faircloth then drove 17 hours plus from denver to butte county. a family of six is now living inside that rv.

their youngest child is just 8 weeks old. in other news now, a swimmer still missing tonight after vanishing in the pacific off daly city. his brother emerged from that surf yesterday afternoon, but the missing man was last seen about 250 yards offshore. coast guard crews helped local firefighters look for him, but heavy fog made it very hard to see any signs of him in the ocean. the search is on to find longtime bay area talk show host ray taliaferro. he vanished from paducantucky, in southern illinois. the 79-year-old gained fame hosting shows on kgo radio from 1977 until 2011. police in kentucky say he was last seen at a pizzeria on november 10th. officers believe he may be disoriented and show signs of dementia. still ahead on abc7 news at 11:00, move over, black friday. it's time for small business saturday. see how some of the bay area's

the numbers are still coming in, but it looks like force thi black friday. sales are projected at $23 billion, up from $21 billion last year. there's also an uptick in online sales. on thanksgiving day, people spent over $6 billion, an increase of nearly 24% from last year. it was a big day for the little guys with people spending

you can support a local business any day. abc7 news. >> what a fun story. over in the east bay, a special event for small business saturday. abc7 news was in oakland at do it for the culture, a black women's holiday market. the market features almost 30 businesses and food trucks owned by black women. organizers say the event's been going on for seven years, but this was the biggest yet. >> these folks are not necessarily getting into some of the larger markets that are happening in other parts of california. so we decided to create our own and create a space that's intentionally centering black women and making sure that these products get featured to the community. >> an american express survey found 83% of consumers plan to do at least some of their holiday shopping at small independently owned retailers or restaurants. one of california's biggest ski resorts opened today thanks to lots of snow in the last few days. you're taking a look at skiers

>> announcer: abc7 sports sponsored by river rock casino. revisiting our top story, reuben foster is spending the night in a florida jail tonight after a second arrest on suspicion of domestic violence. tampa police arrested reuben foster tonight at the 49ers team hotel on suspicion of a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence battery. the team is in florida to play the buccaneers tomorrow. foster was arrested at 9:10 local time and booked into the county jail two hours later. no bond was immediately posted. this is the fourth legal incident since the talented linebacker joined the 49ers. abc7 has reached out to the 49ers for comment, and we are still awaiting their response. game 21 of the season for the warriors came tonight against the kings. it also happened to be the warriors' fifth back-to-back game already. stephen curry and demarcus cousins cheering from the bench. durant to jones. look at jones just hammer it down. he had 13 points in 21 minutes

>> announcer: live where you live, this is abc7 news. once again, good evening. i'm dion lim. in tonight's headlines now, 49ers linebacker reuben foster is in jail in tampa, florida, tonight. police arrested him following a domestic violence incident at the team's hotel. foster missed the first two games of this season following a pair of domestic violence arrests. prosecutors dropped those charges in those cases. a woman is dead after she lost control of her car and it plowed into a highway patrol officer's car in marin1. a man died and three other people went to the hospital after a car missed a curve on a ramp in san jose. the driver survived. chp officers believe he was

drunk. crews spent the day repairing a dock damaged when a ferry boat slammed into it in san francisco. officials hope to have the dock fixed by tomorrow. the coast guard plans to inspect the golden gate ferry boat that collided with the dock. two out of the ferry's 53 passengers were hurt in yesterday's mishap. the mayor of tijuana is asking the united nations for help. it comes as nearly 5,000 central american migrants are waiting in the city to apply for asylum in the u.s. they say they're fleeing violence and poverty in their home countries. crisiss mounting on the u.s.-mexico border according to the mayor of tijuana as nearly 5,000 central american migrants continue arriving in his city. officials and volunteers are helping the migrants, but the mayor of tijuana refuses to deplete his city's public resources and is asking the united nations for aid. a group calling themselves border angels has teamed up with other organizations across
