clouds we have the sutra cameras where we are seeing partly cloudy skies and the sunsets at 4:52 and more fog tonight and one more dry day before the rain returns. details in a few minutes. >> thank you, lisa. developing news, the san francisco 49ers will release reuben foster after he was arrested in tampa, florida, for domestic violenc. the 24-year-old former first-round draft pick was taken into custody at the grand hyatt hotel after a verbal al altercation that the police say turned physical. this is new video of the court appearance this morning, and the judge set bail for foster at $2,000. according to the affidavit, the victim is 22-year-old alyssa ennis who earlier accused him of domestic violence and then took back her statement. now he is accused of slapping

her with a phone on her face, and the officer saw a one-inch scratch on the collarbone, and this morning, a judge ordered fo foster not to have contact with ennis, and they say that they have had a on and off again relationship. the 49ers are to play tampa bay buccaneers today. and steph curry was involved in a highway accident on highway 24, and cur ru ri appeared to be fine, but if you have ever been a crash, injuries can pop up, but head coach steve kerr said that he went through the workout yesterday. >> he is doing fine. and he went and played a little scrimmage today in the facility. didn't report any ancillary stuff from yesterday, and he felt pretty good after he got off of the floor, so all good stuff. >> curry is also recovering from

a groin injury and the team expects him back in the lineup for a potential road trip. time is 9:03. the roads have been dangerous with rain-slicked pavement contributing to a n number of accidents including one that sent a chp officer to the hospital in the north bay. we have cornell bernard with advice. >> reporter: the chp cruiser is undri undrivable and back windshield is cracked after a spinout. >> it was foggy, drizzly and the roads were wet. >> reporter: chp says that the officers with were laying cones and a driver of the toyota corolla lost control of her car and headed right to the offic officers. >> we are fortunate that officer saw the car coming and reacted quickly enough to jump into the back of the patrol vehicle less than a second before the errant

vehicle collided with them. >> reporter: the officer suffered minor injuries, but the driver of the corolla did not survive the crash and died later at a hospital. also, a san jose man died and three others in a suspected drunk driving crash on interstate 280. the chp says that the driver who survived missed a curb at the highway 17 connector and struck a tree and rolled over. >> hit a tree and spun out. >> reporter: we talked to this officer who said that speed is the big hazard. >> drivers need to slow down and drill for the appropriate condition, and we would not see the nearly the amount of crashes that we would see. >> so drive carefully and wear your seat belt. the name of the victim killed saturday on highway 101 has not been released. the chp officer who hawes been injured has been released from the hospital. cornell bernard, abc 7 news.

and a ferry that was involved with a crash near golden state bridge will be repaired, but there could be some long term impacts on the service. katy has the story. >> reporter: crews cut and cleared the mangled metal ferry. the cause of the damage -- you could hear and see in this witness video the golden gate ferry's ms san francisco slamming into the dock near the slanted door restaurant friday afternoon. but on a sunny saturday, the crash did not faze >> it definitely does not stop me from wanting to ride the ferry. >> reporter: the port of san francisco workers inspected the integrity of the dock and the agency expects the dock to be repaired by sunday and in the mean dock at different berths.

passengers are take nit stride. >> when i got off they said make sure to get back on here. >> reporter: the damaged ferry was towed back to larkspur. they are investigating the cause of the crash. they say that the ferry first hit the dock near the terminal and then crashed into gate b and all without warning. of the 53 passengers on board, only two with minor injuries. >> i don't have any problem with it. this incident that happened is a rare occurrence and i don't know the full details, but with the many deaid ka -- decades that the service has been running this is the first of the pr problems. >> reporter: of the vessels in the fleet it is unclear how long it will take to repair the fs san francisco and with one boat down, it could impact service monday. abc 7 news. in butte county, cal fire says that the camp fire is now fully contained.

last night the death toll went up again with the number at 85 people. and the kampf fire is the most destructive on record burning ne nearly 14,000 homes, and 475 people are still unaccounted for. some of the kids impacted by the camp fire will return to the classroom. the diocese is offering the kids free tuition to more than the three dozen private schools including a school for notre dame chico. the tuition is normally $5,000 to $6,000. and the students will are receive uniforms, school materials and lunches. >> we heard that the butte county schools needed more time to open, and knowing that the families are scattered across the north and the sacramento area, we felt it was good to open up the desks to get the kids back into school. >> displaced families interested in the offer should contact the sacramento diocese.

>> a swimmer is missing this morning after a vanishing in the pacific. his brother emerged from the surf friday afternoon, but the missing man was last seen 250 yards from the shore. the crews from the coast guard helped the local firefighters look for him, but heavy fog made it very hoard to find any signs of him in the ocean. palo alto police have released a sketch of a man accused of exposing himself to a 14-year-old girl. the victim was walking her dog at lunchtime on east meadow drive when the man drove up alongside her, and he asked for directions, but the girls said that when she looked inside of the car the man's pants were down to the knees and the victim walked away and reported the incident to the mother, and it was either a light brown or gold sedan with peeling pant. the search is on to find long term bay area talk show host ray talliofera. he vanished from his home in

is okay, you can still shop any time. in the east bay, a special event for small business saturday, and there was a do it for the culture, a market that featured 30 businesses and food trucks owned by black women. the organizers say na te event has gone on for seven years, but this is the biggest one yet. >> and folks are not necessarily getting into some of the larger markets happening in other parts of california and so we decided to create our own and the space that is intentionally centering black women and making sure that the product s as are featured te community. >> a survey by american express found that 83% of the consumers plan to do at least some of the shopping at a small independently owned retailer and restaurant. don't be surprised if you see postal workers out making deliveries this morning, because they are already getting into the holiday rush. friday, carriers started to make deliveries as early as 5:30 a.m.

and the postal service is expecting a big increase of packages and possibly 50 million more than laster year. and in the south bay, law enforcement officers who paid the ultimate sacrifice will be honored a service at christmas in the park of cesar chavez. they are to be hon forred for their service, and this is put together by the silicon valley fraternal lodge of the police. >> and a tradition that is are relaunched that spans generations in the east bay. yesterday a local favorite called the tap dancing christmas trees helped to kick off year 50 for the boy scouts tree lot in piedmont. raises money for the boy scouts and connects the neighborhoods in the holidays. >> you are supporting the commu community and the scouting

west bay and so take your time if you are headed out. 53 downtown in oakland and in the upper 50s at the coast and we will take you to sunny santa cruz where the highs are in the upper 60s and beautiful day at the beach if you can get there. and if you hold on, you will get into some sunshine into livermore valley by 10:00 or 11:00, but right now, a quarter mile visibility, and just about a mile over in oakland and so we will take the next two hours or so to scour out the fog and go from the upper 50s to the low, and even mid-6 afternoon and then by the evening hours, the fog is creeping back into the bay,and tonight, once again, we will see the low clouds and fog and get set for the dry start to the work week, but then it all changes. chris? >> thank you, lisa. developing news, the san francisco 49ers will release reuben foster, linebacker, after he was arrested in florida for domestic violence. the 24-year-old first-round

stands to get $38.5 million from the federal government to build badly needed housing. according to the "press d democrat" it would come from disaster relief money to build apartments. the community lost housing in the wildfires. one site being considered for redevelopment is the former site of the journey's end mobile home park that was badly burned in the fire. some in woolsey are filing are filing lawsuits against the utility company saying they started the fire. the official cause is under fire, but the attorneys representing the victims held a town hall friday night and they say they have hired experts to help prove the case, and they have pointed to 911 calls and eyewitness testimonies, and one man suing lost his home and animal rescue. >> the power company f they did that, they owe a lot of people a

one of california's biggest ski resorts is open thanks to a lot of snow that fell within the last few days. and you are looking at skiers that were on opening day here in kirkwood. more than 30 inches of snow have fallen at kirkwood since wednesday. they plan to keep the ski slopes open until early april. looks like a fun time up in tahoe. >> yes, a nice high base, and the next couple of storm systems headed our way are going to start out warm and then get progressively colder. as we look outside, it is going to be a nice live shot for us, and if you can see the fog behind us, and this is the view to see the towers of the golden gate bridge, the temperatures are in the 50s and we are waiting for the clearing by 10:00 or 11:00, and it is a couple of sunny days before we see the rain and the snow, and we will be back with the seven-day outlook. and also next, the the warriors

then a series of the wet weather makers coming our way tuesday, wednesday and into thursday. the golden gate bridge with closer inspection, lower 50s, and san francisco with 54 in mountain view and morgan hill, and a sunny fview from mt. tam, and 49 in san rafael. and so, with the low clouds here, we are looking at the visibility, restricted, but it has been good from the south bay on to the peninsula, and in lake tahoe in the 30s right now, and we are also looking at a sunny afternoon. we will see rain as we begin the series of storm systems that are go ing the travel into the mountains, but then it is going to be colder and changeover to snow thursday. and suny and mild today and tomorrow and the next round of rain begins here on tuesday and wet and windy for the middle of next week, and some discrepancies of the forecast model as to where we will see the heaviest rain, but looking through the rest of the day

today, it is clearing out nicely and into the overnight hours low clouds and fog returning for the drive in monday. and we should see some rain in the north bay, and high s s tod in the sunshine and the low 60s and average this time of yee, and 63 in oakland, and palo alto 64 degrees. and picking up with the rain in the evening hours around 5:00, and then as we get into wednesday, this is when it is nebulous, looking at rain and heavy rain into thursday. it is looking to clear out by friday friday, but the all-important track of the jet stream is going to allow us to figure out where the heaviest rain is going to b and it is looking linet is a generous rainmaker as we get into the middle of the week, and hit over an inch of rain perhaps thursday, and it looks like if this is going to hold true, we will see more rain in the north bay and south bay than we no

normally do. te fog overnight and the seven-day forecast, you will ant to download to track the rain for tuesday and wednesday and thursday. >> thank you, lisa. and for the first time the valley transportation authority in cooperation with the santa clara sheriff's office will have two sniffing canines for public transit, and we got a rare look as one of the dogs underwent the training. >> reporter: these labs have a knack and a noez safe. meet two of the newest members of the santa clara sheriff's office. after months of training both of the canines will be working full time as part of the transit patrol with a singular focus of tracking explosive devices. they are trained by the handlers on this light rail train. >> and being around crowds or through crowds is not a problem for these dog, because the they have been tested for it. >> reporter: these dogs are on a mission to mae a difference. >> we don't have to worry about the dogs biting anybody, because they are friendly and the sole purpose is to sniff out
