coming in about those tensions between russia and ukraine. ukraine's president has just announced all russian men between the age of 16 and 60 are now banned from entering his country. he said the move is aimed at preventing russians from forming private armies on ukrainian soil. it follows that clash you saw right there in the black sea this week when russia captured three ships in a border dispute. during their summit in argentina today, president trump and leaders of canada and mexico are signing a revamped version of nafta. it includes higher pay for autoworkers and patent protections for some drug companies. lawmakers still have to ratify the agreement. some democrats in congress are calling it a tough sell on capitol hill. another day, another controversy at facebook. the company has confirmed reports that executive sheryl sandberg asked her staff to investigate billionaire george soros. facebook admits sandberg soros

criticized facebook calling it a menace to society. sandberg wanted to find out if soros had any financial incentive to see facebook's stock price drop. she has already apologized for the hiring of a pr firm that dug up dirt on facebook critics. we turn now to the developing story on the west coast. evacuations are under way after heavy rain triggered flash flooding and mudslides. hundreds of crashes have been reported on the roads. this morning, there are growing concerns in california towns already coping with disaster. >> packed our bags. we're ready to go. >> reporter: overnight evacuations got under way in areas of the state ravaged by historic wildfires. the big worry, heavy rain falling on hillsides left barren by fire leaving the potential for devastating mudslides. this video shows a mudflow quickly overwhelming a creek in orange county, and this road in san bernardino county closed after debris flowed across both

les station was there as one mudslide blocked a road in malibu. >> there is this mudslide that c works crews are trying to clear it, but what i'm told is that a 24-inch-wide pipe that was supposed to suck up a lot of this water and mud was clogged by debris which we know happens and what we've been so concerned about here in the burn areas. >> reporter: stan smith is among those filling sandbags helping neighbors after losing his home in the woolsey fire last month. >> our particular house doesn't exist anymore so we don't have to worry about it too much and goes down into a ravine, but our neighbor's house, if it comes down the hill and gets bad then it'll come down, their house. >> reporter: the heavy rain caf homes were destroyed in the so-called camp fire. several people in chico had to be rescued after getting stranded in floodwaters. meanwhile, we're getting a dramatic new look inside that historic wildfire in the town of paradise this month as flames march toward this

and that's when the truck hit a spike strip and crashed. three people are dead. at least eight are injured. the man accused in a brutal series of murders at a mansion in new jersey makes a court appearance this morning. paul caneiro will face four counts of murder for the deaths of his brother, sister-in-law and two children. he set the family's home on fire then set fire to his own home with his wife and daughters inside. >> it is our theory and belief that that fire was effectively a ruse designed to make it appear as if the overall caneiro family was somehow targeted. >> caneiro is expected to plead not guilty. prosecutors say the motive was a financial dispute. the two brothers were in business together but caneiro's lawyer says his client had no

reason to kill the family. do prison inmates have a right to view pornography? that's the subject of a new lawsuit in iowa. dozens of inmates say the state has denied them their constitutional right to adult materials. the lawsuit stems from a new so-called pornography reading rooms in prisons. the law also bans inmates from have having nude pictures in their cells. prisoners claim the law was created by, quote, religious tyrants. as the cost of housing goes up, one-third of millennials are now living with their parents. in new jersey that number has surged to the highest of any state with 47% of its residents between the age of 18 and 34 at home with their mom and dad or both. a possible new role for tom hanks. he's in talks to play the wood carver geppetto in disney's live action adaptation of "pinocchio" which could begin work next spring.
