8:00 this morning. unlike the 61 days prior, again, no one is picketing. marriott workers are sharing hugs instead of shouting demands. happier holidays impacted by a week's long strike. >> it took us 61 days and here we are. >> in the early morning hours monday a tentive agreement was reached. outside the marriott marquee in san francisco chanting against the hotel giant was replaced with cheers. a welcomed sight for michelle anderson. she walked by almost daily since they went on strike. >> every day they were on strike that was a day of lost income. strike pay isn't great. >> workers here have spent 61 days calling for higher wages, health benefits and much more. miguel says he wasn't out here

involving the -- they are on track to starting early next year. we are live at alameda county courthouse. >> reporter: we now know that retired judge will be returning to the alameda county bench next year to preside over the ghost ship trial. he was a mu nins pal court judge before being appointed to superior court. the judge will preside over the trial where defendants are charged with 36 counts of involuntary manslaughter. both were involved which burned during a party trapping 36 people inside. both men agreed to a plea deal. a judge rejected that claiming they did not show enough remorse. both say they are anxious for the trial to begin.

san francisco's mission district. police looking for the person that killed one man and left a woman in life threatening condition. they found them around 1:00 this morning. medics took both to the hospital and that's where the man died. it is not clear what lead up to the shooting. investigators think a string of fires in the marina district. two were on chestnut street. a third started near bay and octavia. no word on the extent of the damage. we enjoyed a couple of dry days. got the tennis lessonng. the rain will be making a come back. >> one storm will hit us pretty hard. i upgraded it from a one to a two. almost comma shaped gathering moisture as we speak. it will slip towards socal. light rain in the morning and downpours in the afternoon and evening hours. a chance of thunderstorms near

his body found in a wooded area not far from where he was last seen. it is in the clear how exactly he died. his family says he suffered from dementia. massive cleaup efforts underway after the deadliest wild fire in state history. the campfire burned nearly 240 square miles and destroyed or damaged close to 20,000 structures. it left behind toxic substances. the epa is leading the effort to remove those toxic substances. cal recycle teams will remove larger nonhazardousnonhazardouss thstudents were not sure ho much of thousands of students that lost their homes would show up. nearly all of the teachers planning to be on hand to welcome students and help them transition to their temporary classrooms. repair crews working to get

months in most of the midwest are april and june. here is alex perez. >> a rare december tornado outbreak swept across illinois. >> really close to this. >> neighborhoods like this one rip a ripped apart. >> this is one of my storage buildings here. i have three buildings on-site. all three have damage. as you can see this one is completely wiped out. >> there were 24 reported tornados, 15 of them confirmed. it's the most to hit the state in over 60 years. >> i have seen a to flrnado hit. it turned it all the way around and i was right behind it. i felt the wind force in my car. it felt like a train. >> it was part of a line of thunderstorms that tore lu the u.s. and then oklahoma mangled buildings, ripped apart trees. in missouri the storm was

deadly, killed when a struck this aurora motel. abc news, chicago. so sad to see that. that is one of the components of climate change. as long as we are getting warmer we'll see those kindover spring vents then there's a second severe season in the fall for those also. it is getting longer too. for us we have high clouds and sunshine. temperatures below average. maybe wear a sweater you haven't seen yet. light rain initially a then thunderstorms are possible and chances of wet weather linger through. still 40s out we are going to hit the mid-to upper 50s. it is 54 to 58 degrees. up here about 51 degrees.

all right. let's back off the next 12 hours starting at noon. what you'll see is sun glass weather. i think you'll need them. the high clouds will get thicker as we head throughout the day. low to mid-50s at 4:00. not quite as chilly with cloud cover. still, all the way down, 46 to 51 and mid-to upper 40s by midnight. on our way to 30s around lake port. it is 40s in the rest of our neighborhoods. all right. let's talk about rainfall. we start off the commute dry. look by 9:00. a lot of us on wet slick streets. by 4:00 everybody will be wet. this storm is coming at us from the south. it gets stronger through the afternoon and evening hours. look at the rain. we see a lot of areas in the green. it is more than an inch of rain. that's the first way. here is the second push. notice it's going to head a little bit farther to the south. for wednesday in the afternoon

hours the south bay has the best chance of getting wet with a lingering chance and tapering chance in the north bay. it will continue. you see how it rotates up across all of our neighborhood. another messy commute. by thursday afternoon and evening it takes a turn. by thursday afternoon we are pretty dry. we'll start at 9:00 wednesday morning to 7:00. wednesday into thursday not as heavy. rain for the thunderstorms that we are looking at having tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow evening. let me map out how this goes for you. it's a 2. it is moderate on our storm impact scale. it is a 1 for tuesday and 1 for wednesday. wednesday low to mid-50s our low mark. sunshine breaks out for saturday and sunday. we have chance of rain late sunday flight.
