issue. special counsel robert mueller said adviser michael flynn provided substantial assistance and therefore should not do jail time. he gave firsthand information about contact between president trump's transition team and russian officials. but exactly how he helped, we're not so sure because it is redacted from a court filing. you can see the tech blacked out. flynn pleaded guilty to lying to federal investigators. he is due to be sentence indeed two weeks. on the peninsula, a cracked and leaning pg&e power pole is still standing in pacifica. neighbors are worried it's one storm away from coming down. it was months ago marked for replacement. residents are frustrated. called the city. crews examined it yesterday but said it will get taken care of early next year. the reason they are giving is there are other power poles in worse conditions than this one

it's damp, cold this morning. walnut creek, where the 680 is starting to get drier. 101 and 880 down in san jose. you can see spray kicking up from the tires there. waves of showers today. they will taper this evening. dry weather tomorrow through saturday. a little bit warmer. our next chance of rain rolls in sunday and monday. high temperatures, mid to upper 50s. san jose, morgan hill, santa cruz about 60. and way up here in lake port, 49 degrees. we have mid to upper 30s. lake port, santa rosa, ukiah. low to mid-fourth in the east bay valleys. mid-40s in our other neighb a l of pressure starting to make its final jog to the south. showers will taper as the main energy source moves away from us. we have a chance of light to

there's a high likelihood of hydroplaning this morning. even standing water on the roadroad roads. you'll find a moderate chance of that. trees toppling, power lines down, the breezes apart there for that. and not enough rain for small stream floodg. for hydroplaning this morning. mike, thank you.

san francisco cracking down on garbag law will force hotels, restaurants and other big businesses to pass recycling inspections every three years to make sure they are sorting their trash for recycling. if the business fails, they will have to hire trash sorters for a year. they are trying to cut in half the 660,000 tons of garbage going to landfills right now. state senator scott wiener is allowing high density housing near public transit stops. they are changing zoning laws to make it easier for builders to build larger apartment complexes near bus stops and parking lot stop. it limits building heights to five stories and eliminates minimum parking assemblyman of san jose has introduced a bill to eliminate

standard time. two 30s of the state legislature and a governor have to sign off on it. then congress has to approve it. and that is not a sure thing. a similar effort by the state of florida is currently stalled on capitol hill. you are never more than 7 minutes away from my accuweather forecast. 8:00 sunday morning, waking up to partly cloudy conditions. now, as we head throughout the afternoon and evening hours, scattered showers becoming steady rain. then sunday night into monday morning, steady light rain moves over all of our neighborhoods, south bay, inland east bay. into monday morning, evening hours, that's when the rain and showers hit all of us. by tuesday morning, it's gone. so this is going to be a quick hit. let's see the potential for rain right now. it's pretty impressive across the north basement more than an inch. down to 0.2 in the south bay. we will tweak that as we get
