students here are either homeless or have dealt with homelessness while in school. that number is the highest of any csu campus. abc 7 spoke with the struggling students who say it is difficult to concentrate on academics when they are worried about where they will sleep, heat up their next meal, or even find food for that matter. >> it is already expensive to be a college student. but it is difficult to survive out here. >> this is one of those challenges that we have to partner with the city, the county, community-based organizations to figure out how to find a way to create a web. so we address this. >> administrators are looking to improve services. they want to provide more resources to students in need. that story at 5:30 this morning.

clouds. we will see rain enter well after the sun goes down. mainly in the north bay. the weekend looking dry.e for m. this morning, how are we doing on the roads? >> doing great so far today. dealing with road work at this point. that should be wrapping up soon. northbound 880 between 23rd and 29th. overpass demolition. they should wrap up by 5:00 this morning. typically when we see them working on this project, it is done a little bit before that. that is adding 20 minutes to your commute on northbound 880. of as long as you're not in a big rig, take 580 instead. use surface streets to get around. another slow spot, southbound 880 between tennyson and fremont, a couple lanes down. that should be done by 5:00 this morning. we'll keep an eye on both of those areas. so far so good for the south bay. 101 and 880, slowlyin

happy friday. 4:42. this is lake tahoe. all the snow on the ground. good news there. fantastic weekend. if you are going up tosaturday. up to 37. sunday, though. it is rather windy. windchills in the afternoon will be in the upper 20s. a look at the seven-day forecast in four minutes. jessica. thank you, drew. happening now, mudslides forced 2,800 people to evacuate their homes near lake elsinore in riverside county. a raging river of mud and debris flowing down the hillsides there. it is near 800 homes. and officials fear entire hill sides could give waive and bury homes sitting below. this is the same area ravaged by the holy fire in august. a storm yesterday dumped up to an inch of rain in some of the

areas of southern california. it caused street flood anything orange and los aeles 1,400 homes were lost to the camp fire. now problems in the future is being underinsured to rebuilding. >> abc 7 news reporter laura anthony has the story from nap that. >> reporter: bob and his family last their homes in the north bay fires. he is still battling with farmers insurance to rebuild. >> we are in the hole over 700,000. we were not even covered 50% with with the insurance. >> reporter: in late 2015, he used farmers own estimator tool to come up with a replacement value of $661,000.

after the fire, farmers sent an appraiser to the property, who determined the rebuild would really cost more than $1.3 million. according to those who add indicate for policyholders, bob albo and his family are not a loin when it comes to dealing with their insurance companies after a total loss. >> don't deceive us. don't let us think we are assured to value is and then find out in your darkest time that we're not. >> reporter: amy bock is the director of a san francisco organization called nighted policyholders. >> it sounds like this homeowner has very good evidence on his side that he did everything right and that farmers needs to make good on their promises to him. >> reporter: albo said farmers will kick in 25% above the t the actual rebuild cost. abc 7 news contacted a spokesman for farmers, who told us only that the company is working with mr. albo to resolve his claim.

in napa, laura anthony, abc 7 news. >> wildfire victims will be front and center at incoming governor newsom's inauguration celebration. january 6th, he will host a fund-raising at the golden one center in sacramento. the money raised will go to aid long-time recovery and rebuilding efforts. newsom will take the oath of office the following morning to become california's 40th governor. his wife is breaking convention in the name of gender equality. she will take the title of first partner instead of first lady. she runs a non-profit group whose mission is to fight gender stereotypes. she said first partner is gender neutral and more inclusive. happening today, the bells will be ringing a lot san francisco's union square. salvation army is kicking off its annual fund-raiser outside macy's department store.
