walnut police are trying to figure out if the driver mistook the gas pedal for the brakes. investigators are trying to figure out what spark the fire at sun marine's. you can see here nobody was hurt. fire crews worked to keep names from spreading to walgreens next door to the burning restaurant. the fire displaced people living inside the apartment above the restaurant. break out the umbrellas, we are expecting some over night rain, a live look from our exploratorium at the embarcad o embarcadero. . let's get with our meteorologist with drew tuma with more on that. >> hey, dion. live doppler 7, you can see a real thin ribbon of moisture

2015, organizers say clinicians will hold rallies across the state including san francisco and san jose. patients are not getting the healthcare they need. >> we are trying to advocate for a greater return access for our patients. kaiser has been making greater n door but once they're in the door, it takes them five to eight weeks. >> they would like to decrease the amount of time that the therapist spends with each patie patient. that's something we are not able to do. we are challenged by that. >> cazkaiser says its offices w remain open during the strike and making arrangements. dozens of oakland high school teachers are planning to walk out over pay and contract negotiations. the walk-out is not being h the.

the teachers had been without a contract for two years now. district officials are aware of the situation and other teachers could join the walk-out. police are offering $5,000 award for information leading to an arrest of a thief. take a look at this, lake port police released this surveillance video this morning. the thief entered at about 6:45 at renee's cafe. you can see that thief did not look around long before finding an employee's purse in the cabinet. investigators do say it is a grand theft. just ahead on abc 7 news at 6:00, hitching a ride where one man decides to take a train without ever boarding. a first of its kind study on electric scooters who's doing it and how it could change policies in the bay area. >> a surprise gift

allman hit a man hitched a ride on the back of the train this morning. it is unclear if the train entered the tunnel with the man still riding on the outside. we reached out to transit officials, they say they are looking into it. definitely not a safe choice to say the least. first of its kind study by the center for disease control but it is not focused on a new disease or the unsafe health trends. the study is on electric scooters. the public health institute is studying scooter related injuries and incidents. it wants to look at the health risk for riders and vehicles pedestrians. it began docking two years ago prompting safety concerns of sidewalk congestion. this study will be held in austin, texas. the cdc will collect data from 37 emergency calls and 68

we'll have a bit of a wet commute first thing tomorrow morning. live doppler 7 showing you the active sweep that you can see. just a little moisture off the coast right now and beginning to move on shore. this front is going to take its time moving through wechlt a. we are not expecting rain until after midnight tonight. what we have been dealing with for much of the day today and that continues this evening, quite a bit of haze for the atmosphere. once this cold front moves through here over night tonight, it is going to help us clean out our atmosphere and clear skies will prevail tomorrow afternoon. it was a chilly day today, a lot of spots had a hard time reaching the low 50s. a lot of us are stuck in the 40s. that's where we sit right now for napa and santa rosa. san francisco at 51 or 52. that current temperature in seaso seasons. we'll see clouds thicken ahead of the cold front.

keep temperatures over night on te mild side. temperatures holding in the mid-40s as we track showers moving through. the bigger picture, i want to show you. here is the cold front right here. it is a real thin ribbon of moistures. it will not be a lot of rain and some of us will not see any rain from the system. it is really weak and it is really fast moving. the storm impact scale on your monday morning. a level one slight system coming in tomorrow morning. light showers and weak winds. this system is out of midday. future weather, hour by hour, early tomorrow morning by 3:00 in the morning. light showers just begin to move in the north bay around santa rosa at the morning hour. 7:00 on monday, i think there is a good chance that a few of us will have to use your windshield wipers. the majority of the region having a lot of cloud cover and spotty light showers and parts of the north bay. it enters dryer air into the

morning. a lot of us and south bay and in land may not end up with any rainfall at all. rainfall potential, really light in nature, you can see the entire region where we do find those showers and best chance will be in the north bay tomorrow morning. less than a quarter of an inch. fremont and ending up with nothing. a lot of cloud cover first thing on your monday. highs on your monday. brighter skies will prevail all of us in the afternoon. it is a cool day in the city tomorrow. 58 in oakland and about the same in santa rosa and concord up to 60 degrees. here is your seven-day forecast, there is that morning shower again, tomorrow in the north bay. dry skies in the afternoon and that dry pattern continues. the weekend is 50/50 right now. saturday a lot of sunshine but sunday, another chance with some afternoon rain. now, sports from abc 7 news.
