his list, including conservative gop congressman mark meadows, treasury secretary steve mnuchin. in the north bay, a man accused of running a fake student loan relief scheme is expected to make his first court appearance. brandon frere. he scammed people out of $28 million since the year 2014. they say frere advertised the student loan forgiveness program. victims paid enrollmt and membership fees thinking it would lower monthly payments but american financial did not make any payments on their behalf. we are keeping an eye on the stock market this morning. asian markets closed broadly lower today. u.s. stocks plunged not week. u.s. stocks plunged not week. it comes after the arrest of an

electroni electronics. she faces extradition to the u.s. there is uncertainty about what this means for the trade talks between the u.s. and china. on the peninsula, this pg&e power pole has finally been released. the pole in pacifica was tagged for removal back in august. months later it was still there. abc 7 news reporter ansar hassan spoke to the relieved residents. >> reporter: it's what residents in pacifica have been complaining about for months. for pg&e to finally remove this tilting power pole. >> it is an early christmas present. it's great. >> reporter: pictures show just how have it was cracked and tilting. neighbors first contacted pg&e in may. in august, they marked it for removal, tagging it as dangerous. but taylor said only after our story aired last tuesday did pg&e finally take down the pole.

hitting the slopes in sierra. back-to-back storms doubled the snowpack. this is kirkwood resort. it opened to skiers and snowboarders on saturday. heavenly opened ahead of schedule. mammoth says it has the deepest snowpack in the country trite now. the official start to winter is still two weeks ago. boy, it looks beautiful, mike. it really does. i'm so happy for them to get off to an earlier start this year. when you compare to average, turn the numbers a different way. compared to average, we are barely above at 104%. a lot of that is because of the south and central, including tahoe. when you head to the north, tphorbl north of tahoe, not as much snow. only 78%. mid to upper 40s in the east bay. mid to upper 40s in the bay shore, and the south bay. los gatos, 50. san francisco the same. 47 in pacifica.

all right. let's take a look at what's going on across is the state. a whole lot of cloud cover, just not a lot of rain and snow. barely any of that. but it is going to be right on top of us the next couple hours. notice how it weakens down to the south. the clouds are stubborn. we will see breaks in them, but not a lot of sunshine until tomorrow. temperatures running in the mid to upper 50s.

fog thick in the central valley, especially farther south. let's take a look at the seven-day forecast for tahoe. a couple inches of snow today. and then we are pretty dry until friday. light were snow and another chance sunday. alexis? thank you, mike. investigators trying to figure out what sparked a fire in the sunset district. it broke out on irving street and 22nd avenue just after 2:00 yesterday afternoon. the san francisco fire department tweeted these from the scene. the fire temporarily displaced three people living inside the apartment above the restaurant. a driver went to the hospital after slamming a car into an apartment building in walnut creek. you're looking at a photo from the contra costa fire protection district. it is unclear how the car ended up in the building on tampico

abc 7 news reporter jobina fortson said it is not only inspiring their community but giving back to camp fire survivors. >> you may have noticed these men playing in the background of thanksgiving for camp fire victims in chico. they call themselves cold weather sons. nathaniel smith lost everything he opened during the camp fire. >> a friend of mine donated a guitar because mine was burned up in the fire. and he came over and we ended up writing a song. ♪ i can still remember the first time that i fell in love with this town ♪ >> the song is called "one of these days." and it's gone viral. cold weather sons was invited to nashville by a grammy-winning producer to record it. >> we want the media attention is turning away from the fire already. it needs to be a long-term help too. of that's the beauty of the song. people purchasing it, it is

once it tries to get to the south bay and east bay valleys, it will be hard to reach the ground. more fog in the area on 101 and 880 than rain right now. mostly cloudy this afternoon. clearing tonight. once we clear out, the fog forms and we cloud over for tomorrow's commute. we will have fog and weak storms. really looks like the storm door has closed. sure, we will get weak storms. no atmospheric rivers, no robust rain coming our way. temperatures mid to upper 50s today. 56 to 59. don't, a little bit cooler thanks to the clearing early. mid to upper 30s in the north bay valleys. upper 30s to low 40s in the east bay valleys is. and low to mid-40s around the bay and out towards the coast. here's a look the at our rainfall. there's the clock at 7:00. and you can see by about 1010t:30, 11:00, it's gone. it fades towards the evening hours. that is what allows the fog to form. still plenty of moisture from

if you're just joining us, as a lot of you do throughout the morning hours, we have a storm impact this morning. light showers and light breezes. it's a 1. it doesn't get much lighter than this. it is falling during the morning commute. our afternoon commute. in fact, lunch, it will be dry by then. be careful out there. in the east bay, san ramon police pulled out all the stops to honor a police canine who lost a battle with an aggressive form of cancer. you can see hector from his hammer's twitter page. he was honored with a procession as he was driven to a clinic where he was put to sleep. his handler said he was undergoing chemotherapy for several months. he was given the all clear and went back to work but it came back a month later. he was 7 years old. >> a first of its kind study by the centers of disease control. the study is on electric

scooters. the nation's public health institute is studying scooter-related injuries and incidents. it wants to look at the health risks to riders, vehicles, and pedestrians. they have been flooding the streets of major cities. they were enough to make san francisco impact a permit process, as you know. this study will be held in austin, texas. they will look at hospitals. gas prices may be falling nationwide, but don't get too excited. the highest prices are still here in the bay area. this morning the average price of a gallon of regular is $3.58. the average price in the u.s. is $2.51. gas prices have fallen steadily the past three weeks. an industry analyst said that is because of falling crude costs. you're never more than 7 minutes away from live doppler 7.

richmo richmond, across san francisco is wet. you can see richmond-san rafael bridge is wet. golden gate bridge is wet. this extends down to sfo. you can see a little bit of rain around burlingame. coming across the san mateo bridge, more than likely you will run into light rain what do i mean by light? less than a tenth of an inch. just enough to make it slick. let's turn it back to you guys. so far not seeing a major impact on the roads, mike. we don't have a lot of incidents to talk about. the bay bridge toll plaza, a little stack up on either side of the bay bridge toll plaza. no metering lights yet. that should happen 5:20, 5:25. ow to the central valley here as well is. leaving tracy, down to about 25 miles per hour on 205. 19 miles per hour on 580. no incidents in that area. that is starting to fill in.
