this involves mental health professionals. it involves 4,000 psychologists, therapists, social workers and nurses statewide. they have already made arrangements so paties won't be too impacted. >> we are moving resources and executing an operational plan to make this as min possible. we apologize to our patients. >> reporter: they are doing this because they want better care for their patients. they would like to spend more time with patients but kaiser would like them to cut the amount of time they spend with them. some of the appointments may need to be rescheduled this week. because of the strike, it is set for 6:00 this morning. live in san francisco, amy hollyfield, abc 7 news. thank you, amy. in the east bay, dozens of teachers at oakland high school plan to walk out overpay and

stalled contract negotiations. they will march to san francisco in hopes to speak with libby in hopes to speak with libby schaaf. abc 7 news was at saint ignatius as people gathered to remember victims of gun violence yesterday. one man wears wrist bands in memories of victims, including his son chris who was shot at uc santa barbara four years ago. nancy pelosi and jackie speier were also at the vigil. speier survived getting shot in jonestown. >> stun to go me that we can take romaine lettuce off the shelves because 55 get sick.

but 30,000 people can die each year and we can't do anything about it. >> this friday marks six years since sandy hook. a gunman killed six adults and 20 children. nancy pelosi hopes to pass common sense gun violence protection legislation in the coming year. the son of ray taliaferro has hired a private investigator to look into his father's death. he was found in a wooded area in kentucky last week. an autopsy found no signs of foul play, but his son thinks there is foul play. he got married a few months before he vanished. in the east bay, neighbors can have their say tonight on a proposed five-story marriott hotel. if all goes as planned, it is
