at 16 minutes. thank you, alexis. new this morning, we are getting our first glimpse into the abc news exclusive interview with michael cohen. >> the longtime former attorney of donald trump was just sentenced to three years in prison. amy hollyfield is look at the new interview coming up. >> he said he is done with the lying. in an exclusive interview, george stephanopoulos, he is angry at himself, that he knew what he was doing was wrong. he said he will not be the villain anymore. he was sentenced to three years in federal prison for finance violations in connection with paying two women to keep quiet about past affairs with president trump. he said of course the the president knew it was wrong to make hush money payments. >> he knows the truth. i know the truth. others know the truth. and here's the truth. people of the united states of

this handled at the castro station just after 8:00 last night. you will see the man's head popping up from the light rail train. the fire department was called in to make a rescue. >> we had some challenges. we had to make sure that the power was shut off and maintain safety for the rescuers. >> firefighters say the man has minor injuries. he was taken to a trauma center to be checked out. police had to close the station for almost an hour while the man was rescued. this is actually the second bizarre incident involving muni in less than a week. we told you about this man caught hitching a ride on the back of the train sunday morning. this photo was taken at church and dubose avenue. officials think they figured out what caused cracks in two beams at the salesforce transit center and they have a fix. they were first discovered in september force it will be closed ever since. holes cut into the beams with a

welding torch are likely to blame. but the company responsible for fab indicating the beam say that might not be the whole story. okay. we're having some sound issues there. but engineers are saying that to fix the problem they will have to sandwich the damaged parts of the beams between two steel plates and then bolt them together. a final report on the root cause of the cracks is expected by sometime next month, and that's also when we could get a better timeline of when the transit center will reopen. happening today, lime will try to get escooters back onto san francisco streets. lime applied for and was denied a permit to operate in the city under a one-year pilot program, so the company applied for an appeal. spin and uber's jump have also filed appeals. if the raiders leave oakland by the end of the year, they

is that what did it? >> very fashionable. >> i guess. >> yeah, i guess so. >> did jackie o wear something like that? >> it is kind of jackie with the glasses. looking at walnut creek, some of the haze and the fog is leaking into the east bay. we'll be mainly gray today with rain and evening. even a few showers in the overnight hours, especially in the north bay. heavy rain for sunday. here's a look at today's temperatures. very comfortable out there. 59 to 61 degrees. tonight is going to be pretty mild. right around the mid-40s to mid-50s. you can see the better chance of rain in the north bay tonight. here's a look at our storm. and a lot of cloud cover out there. a lot of radar returns this morning. there's a tremendous dry layer at about 5,000 to 10,000 feet. it will have to moisten before

the rain reaches the grouped. today through tomorrow, rain and showers. up to a half inch in the north bay. here's some of the radar returns i talked about here at 7:00. this is not going to reach the ground. so let's move forward and show you what will reach the grouped. light to moderate moving into the north behave at noon. and then starting to move into the heart of the behave by 4:00. compared to yesterday, the storm system is going to slide a little bit farther to the south during the evening commute. that's when it will be the heaviest and start to taper after the commute ends. you will see scattered showers. it moves into the north bay tomorrow morning. that's where it stays with light rain and random showers throughout the afternoon and into the early evening hours. look at your rainfall totals. you can see by 7:00, a lot of us pretty wet out there. except for, again, the south bay and parts of the east bay. tomorrow afternoon, pretty good other than the north bay where there will be lingering light rain. i'll take an hour-by-hour look

robbery at the same store two years ago. the new cpmc hospital will open in march. abc 7 news has an exclusive look inside the new medical center. it looks ready for move in but lots still needs to happen. staff is being trained on new tools, including this lift to get patients it of beds. they will have 274 patient beds. but there is one difference >> we have all private rooms for the patients. in addition, we encourage our family members to stay. and we have a family member from each of the rooms which allows loved ones to stay with them overnight. >> that is pretty great. there are family lounge areas to take advantage of the spectacular city views and roomtop gardens. each floor has a theme with original artwork. >> you are never more than 7

minutes away from my accuweather forecast. niners and seahawks. light rain possible, 60 degrees. we have a 2, moderate, coming our way. half an inch to an inch in the north bay. that rough and dangerous surf and gusty breezes. at 1:00, you can see the rain, light to moderate. just waves of it moving through the north bayment the rest of us have sprinkles to a scattered shower at come 8:00. look at this huge area of moderate to heavy rain that rolls through and ends by about 2:00 in the morning. so there will be plenty of leftover moisture on the roads monday morning. in fact, here's a look at how much we'll have by monday morning. you can see that half inch in the south bay to an inch around the bay to more than an inch in the north bay. here's alexis with this morning's commute. yeah. we are definitely enjoying quiet driving companies. everything is looking great now.

enjoy it while it laughs. that will be a different story for monday morning's commute. southbound 101, we are not seeing any visibility issues. no delays volume-wise. no incidents to report. so you are looking great if you're coming from marin county. a quick check of really our only issue we have so far this morning. westbound 24 at caldecott. a back up to orinda. they had to run a couple things to get that cleared. residual delays are gone. sfo adding more international flights. they will make five round trip flights from san francisco to lisbon. they will start at $800 round trip. new ferry service between san francisco ferry building and richmond launches january 10th. sky 7 flew over the richmond dock as it is being prepared for commuters. it will take a little over 30 minutes. it is 9 bucks. use your clipper card.
