see those light greens across your screen that's some light steady shower activity this hour. what will end the rain is a cold front slowly sinking south. it's right here pretty much positioned between santa rosa and san francisco at this hour. behind that front you have dryer skies. the rain has moved out, but ahead of that front still dealing with some light showers. overnight tonight that front will cross the entire region and we'll gradually dry out in the overnight period. but we certainly got a healthy amount of rain during the day today. san francisco coming close to 0.3 of an inch of rain. in the south bay not as much but still saw some showers. fremont, san jose a quarter of an inch. so a decent december rainstorm we had to finish off the weekend. where that front has already cleared temperature-wise we have already cooled off to the 40s.
11:18 pm
but ahead of that front we're still holding onto the 50s. so the storm impact scale earlier today this storm was a moderate level 2 storm. now it's weakening tonight. so it's downgraded to a level 1 light system over the next few hours. so light to moderate showers. that rain will be ending from a north to south fashion. by tomorrow morning that rain will be out of here and the winds are weakening as well. let's go hour by hour for you. 1:00 early monday morning the rain starting to exit. drying out along the north bay, along the peninsula. but still some light showers and then that front completely clears by 6:00, 7:00 monday morning. so monday morning for the commute we don't have rain falling from the sky but our roads will likely be slick under mostly cloudy conditions. another aspect of the storm we're watching is high surf. and those waves have been building throughout the night.
