9:00. you can see the walls. it continues up across southern california. most don't look like this at the brord walk. it is protected. know there is danger lurking at other beaches. if you're at the bay it's okay. >> thank you. if you ever been to ocean beach you know it is a wide stretch of sand. today the ocean is expanding ever closer to the road. abc 7 news reporter is there for us now, amy. >> hi. we are keeping a safe distance. we are up here on the sidewalk. you can see there are some people out walking around. the beach is open. the warning is to not be out there on the sand because these waves are big and dangerous. ocean beach had an audience this

morning as people made the special trip out here to watch the waves. >> i think it's awesome. nature is beautiful. some times we think of ocean beaches being this calm big board walk and everything but today it's a little bit wilder. >> a storm system moving across the pacific is creating dangerously large waves with swelling ranging from 18 to 24 feet. there was not only a good show to see here this morning but good weather too. >> these are the largest i have seen. a few weeks ago when we had the big storm we predilcted the big waves. now the sky is clear. you can still look at the waves. >> some may have set expectations a little too high. >> it is not as intense as we thought it would be. >> there has definitely been bigger. >> the birds almost took center

as we look out at the waves you can see they are very big. it is still enough to do a lot of damage. the big waves delivered and delivered and delivered. the high surf warning less of a deterrent and more of an attraction is this morning. >> it is big, man. it looks like it is building >> dozens of people walked along the beach boulevard. the water crashed down flooding the asphalt. some couldn't escape including my photographer. a waver damaged the building and broke a window creating a mess on the ground and inside.
