that's where we are live now with the story. >> usually this facility in danville is closed for christmas. not this year. they opened the doors to the victims. you can see families have gathered for dinner. all the food donated from local mexican restaurants. most of the people are volunteers. they understand how hard life has been for the families since losing their homes and so much more in the fire. they want to give them a week off from the challenges they have been facing on a daily base si. they get a place to stay, free clothes sp food. personal items. toys for the kids. everything donated. that set up activities for the families. cooking programs and sports. arts and crafts. and free haircuts and massages. she came with her husband and two kids saying the retreat is so important. it's a break from the trama of the past few months.

we were on napele street. one man died in the shooting just before midnight. a neighbor arrived saying the victim was a driver for a daily city tow truck company. >> he has a lot of friends. he's a young kid. he has his own business. 22. just bought the house a few months ago. and a wife and two kids. >> police haven't released details about a suspect. >> on the peninsula we have an update to a story we brought you friday. police say they arrested 28 year-old martinez accused offend attacking a woman thursday night. she was walking when the suspect came up from behind and shoved her into bushes. when she screamed he punched her in the face. neighbors came out and want suspect ran.

national park is staying open despite the federal government shut down. which has no signs of being over any time soon. visit tors can visit. but the service information booth and orientation center is closed. entrance stations and visitors centers will be unstaffed. national park service programs are cancelled. concessions and hotels and the bus shuttles will operate.

onto the over cast skies. there could be a little bit of coastal drizzle. the main rain event will hold off until tomorrow. over night the next 12 hours will drop into the midif not upper 40s. the storm impact scale we'll track the scattered showers and downpours with a light level one system. we see the downpours set up we'll likely have gusty wind. 30 to 40 miles per hour. tomorrow afternoon there's at chance of isolated thunder shower popping up as well. tomorrow morning 9:00 on our monday. we are tracking the light showers in the north bay. and then along the coastline. as that front moves on shore in the afternoon, we'll see the downpours start to develop. 3:00 in the afternoon the pops of yellow and orange and red beginning in the north bay. those are the heavier downpours and the possible thunder showers popping up. 5:00 in the evening on christmas eve.
