way. >> abc 7 news reporter matt keller is in san jose with the newest details. matt >> reporter: good morning, alexis and jessica. four officers on paid administrative leave. of course that's protocol whenever an officer-involved shooting take place. this all happened early christmas morning around 2:00 a.m. police got a report of shots fired around story road and clementa avenue e. arriving officers found two adults with gunshot wounds. they survived. they also tried to stop a vehicle matching the suspect description. it took rauf. a chase ended with the suspect vehicle crashing several miles away at lee avenue and fruitdale avenue in san jose. a feature driver rammed into a patrol car, and four officers opened fire. a witness captured it on video. the driver died at the scene. female passenger also had one gunshot wound. she was released from the hospital and booked into jail on an outstanding arrest warrant. the district attorney's office is conducting its own

today makes day five of the partial government shutdown. an estimated 800,000 federal employees are likely impacted. on christmas day, president trump claimed those federal workers support his position in the fight with democrats over billions of dollars in funding for the border wall. >> many of those workers have said to me and communicated stay out until you get the funding for the wall. >> reporter: congress is still away for the holiday, but many lawmakers are reacting to the death of on an 8-year-old guatamalan boy who died while in u.s. custody. this is the second immigrant child to die in detention just this month. jacqueline caal died after crossing the border with her father. jerry nadler, the next house judiciary chairman tweeting another tragic death in cbp custody reinforces the need for the ig to investigate condition in cbp's short-term holding facilities. u.s. customs and border protection say the boy died shortly after midnight tuesday and he showed signs of, quote, a potential illness.

bridge in acute crisis out of impulsive behavior. we were able to be there and show compassion and connect with them in a meaningful way. >> the bridge walk angels will continue to monitor the bridge until a suicide barrier is completed in two years. a bay area holiday tradition is marking its 25th anniversary. abc 7 news was in tenderloin for the annual christmas celebration and meal. it started yesterday with breakfast, followed by a prime rib luncheon. the house of prime rib donates 3,700 pounds of meat for the meal. >> this is a pretty big day. this is a day we have roughly 500 volunteers show up. we have people lining up at 9:00 to have christmas breakfast with us at 10:00. >> this year glide staff handed out 500 prime rib dinners to neighbors on the streets. volunteers baked 2,500 loaves of the jewish bread to enjoy with the christmas meal.
