the roads.lit. thank you, sue. developing news from central california where the man opportunity continues for the suspect in the killing of a police officer. officials say that suspect is in the country ilheely. will carr has the latest from newman. >> reporter: good morning, alexis and jessica. of authorities have been working around the clock to get this suspect off the streets. they served a search warrant overnight and released new pictures of the suspect. he is still on the run. the chief at the newman police department says he is leaving behind a wife and a 5-month-old son. >> he will never see his son walk. he doesn't get to hold that little boy, hug his wife, say good night anymore because a coward took his life.

expected of carjacking a woman at a shopping center one mile away. the woman is sharing her terrifying ordeal. amy hollyfield is live with the only interview you will see only on 7. amy >> reporter: the woman who was carjacked said she is certain incident was the man who escaped from san quentin prison wednesday night. we have surveillance video of that carjacking. it happened in the home depot parking lot. you can see a man walk up to her and he told her he had a gun under his shirt and he was going to kill her. he demanded her keys and that she not call police. she tells us she was scared to death. but she did manage to ask him if she could have one thing out of the car. >> i was scared to death. that was the first time ever in my life. he jumped to the car. i said i want to take my dog now, please. and then he just left. okay.

another manhunt happening right now. federal and local authorities are searching for a suspect who shot and killed an officer in the town of newman in stanislaus. >> authorities are desperately searching for this man. the sheriff's department tweeted new photos of the suspect last night. the sheriff says key findings helped to narrow down who he is. a man who uses multiple aliases. they won't confirm his name. >> we have identified a suspect. we know who our suspect is. we know who is responsible for this senseless act of violence. it's just a matter of time before we find him. corporal singh was shot on christmas morning. the suspect fled the scene. the sheriff has spoken to the singh family and they are working on funeral arrangements with the family. the sheriff's department says there is only one authorized fund set up for the family of corporal singh. it is through the stanislaus sworn deputies association. if you would like to donate we

morning commute. 3 is running 10 minutes behind. we'll take back another look in 10 minutes. all right. thank you, sue. this morning san jose's police chief is standing by his officers after they shot and killed a 24-year-old woman after a high-speed chase. they thought the woman was involved in a shooting. it turns out that the officers were chasing the wrong car. she said the suspects were in a white car. officer spotted a white camry and determined the car was stolen, but it was not the car involved in the shooting. but for some reason police say 24-year-old jenny vasquez and her female passenger led police on a high-speed five-mile-chase. the pursuit ended when the car crashed into.n rehowhenc s vehicle, they were individuals that took police on a high-speed pursuit. i stop short of the mistaken identity type of issue. no, they weren't the suspects in the shooting.
