diablo, 24 to 28 miles per hour. late tonight and into tomorrow morning, a wind advisory goes into effect. gusts up to 70 miles an hour. so through tuesday we'll be dealing with the breezy conditions. it's cold this morning. filtered sunshine, partly cloudy skies. mid to upper 50s by noontime. low 60s, the sun setting at 5:00. we'll talk about rain coming back into the forecast in a few minutes. chris. palo alto police are looking for a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman. this surveillance footage shows the man on el camino real. police say a woman was walking into an apartment complex says the man grabbed her, pushed her to the ground, touched her inappropriately. she screamed, her boyfriend ran out of the apartment and chased the suspect. also happening now, san francisco police want to find the man accused in this brutal

attack. it happened near the pal street b.a.r.t. station. police believe the suspect is a guy named melton kelly. nbc's 7's joe vino has more. >> reporter: the streets were bustling like this in the heart of san francisco's shopping district early friday evening. but on the other side near the palo alto bus station, a brawl was unfolding, so brutal that much of this video jenny recorded was too good for tv. >> it made me disgusted, by angered me. >> reporter: the man in the black hoodie is identified as melton kelly. investigators say he's on probation. parts of the video show him punching and stomping the man in the face. >> on one hand i was surprised, but i was really frustrated to hear this has been an escalating on going issue. >> reporter: last week a man a s

video was taken a few blocks from this latest fight. >> he was being wrestled, choked, gassing for hair. >> chao says she usually sees officers around the area. >> i didn't see one. >> reporter: this area draws thousands of tourists and many issues along with it. we had to stop our interview at one point because of harassment. >> can you get more of the guards to get these people out of here. she refuses to accept this as the new normal and says the video is her way of seeing something and saying something. >> sfpd is asking anyone with information about kelly to call the tip line. if you see kelly, do not approach him. just call police. know vino fort son, abc news.

fairfield police are looking for two men who rabid a man and then shot him. the victim was in a restaurant parking lot when the two men, one of them armed, approached and demanded his property. there was a struggle over the gun. it went off and hit the victim. the suspect took off in a black nissan sedan. the victim was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover. time is 5:04. this prisoner who escaped from san quentin state prison is back behind bars. shalom mendoza escaped wednesday evening. he was suspected of a carjacking at a home depot about a mile away. police also received a tip mendoza was in nearby san miguel. they finally caught up to him at a taco bell yesterday. abc 7's cornell barnard spoke to a woman who saw the arrest.

>> i went to sit at a table and i noticed a gentleman who had a tattoo just above his eye bra. >> reporter: she thought the man looked strangely familiar. she had no clue how close she was sitting to a nearby prison escape pee. she says minutes later police came in and arrested 21-year-old san quentin escape pee shalom men mendoza. the california department of corrections says its officers searched mendoza and found no weapons. he was wearing a black shirt and sweat pants which police say he bought at this dollar general store in nearby san miguel. shortly after ditching the silver toyota rav4 he was suspected of driving. >> we were able to confirm he is also our carjacking suspect in the incident that occurred at home depot in san rafael.

>> reporter: police say this was mendoza driving through the toll plaza just 15 minutes after carjacki carjacking this woman. >> i'm going to kill you now. >> reporter: san quentin officials say mendoza walked away from the soupsized work detail on december 26th. he was serving a five-year sentence for using a deadly weapon during a carjacking in l.a. county. crystal ber know is just glad he's in custody. >> i'm just glad he's no longer a danger to anybody. >> reporter: mendoza is custody at the salinas valley state prison. it's unknown if he'll be returned to san quentin prison. in san rafael, cornell barnard, abc 7 news. we've been sending out alerts about this story through the abc 7 news app.

oakland to see her dying son. investigators think a space heater started a fire in casper valley. two dogs died and one man suffered serious burns. the man was hurt trying to use a garden hose to put out the fire. this was on milmar boulevard off seven hills road. flames spread quickly from the first floor to the second floor. a woman and 18-month-old girl escaped unharmed. firefighters put out the fire in about 20 minutes. >> space heaters can be very dangerous if they're too close to any combustibles. in this case they were too close to combustibles. >> the first floor is a total loss. the second floor has significant damage. farmers and others who may need to burn stubble have until tuesday. that's intentionally it's the time in the south bay. the group of college football

a fire raced through a townhouse in san jose. you can see most of the damage is in the garage there. fire crews say no one was i the house when they ar r50i6d. it's still not clear what started the fire. in the north bay, police, fire and community groups came together to help families who lost everything in an apartment fire. it happened the day after christmas. abc 7 news was in san rafael where the salvation army and san

the storm track continues to stay in canada and the pacific northwest. by the end of the week we'll be looking at bringing rain back into the by area. in and around oakland and fremont, upper 40s. upper 30s in san jose. 52 in half moon bay. you will notice 1:00 this afternoon there's a few clouds around. we'll call it filtered sunshine. clouds moving through the peninsula, the south bay this afternoon. all in all, temperatures may be coming up a couple degrees due to morrellive humidity in the air and that december sun allowing for a little heating throughout the afternoon. so we will look for a pretty decent afternoon, 58 today in oakland, look for 59 in fremont. 60 in san jose. temperatures in the low 60s up towards santa rosa and richmond. right now winds in the upper

gillibrand and elizabeth warren. the riverside county home dubbed a house of horrors is up for auction. the four-bedroom home is where david and louise turpin are accused of abusing 12 of their 13 kids, even shackling them to furniture. bidding on the foreclosed home has reached over $196,000. in january when they were arrested, investigators said the house was filthy and smelly. it is expected, whoever buys the home will resell it on the open market. an investigation at baltimore's international airport after a jet bridge collapsed. seven people ended up in the hospital. medics were called to meet the southwest flight from the dominican republic because of a sick passenger. as they were tending to that person, the jet bridge suddenly collapsed. four medics, two southwest employees and the sick passenger all fell to the ground. however, they are expected to recover. panicked passengers say the scene was chaotic. >> it was traumatic.
