s. good morning, lynda. >> reporter: good morning, marcus. no real progress at least until new year's eve to end the shutdown, but the house democrats entered two bills which they say they will be ready to vote on on thursday. president trump continuing to feud with democrats over funding for a border wall. the two sides still at a stalemate on the sticking point that would end the shutdown. the president telling fox news -- >> i'm in washington. i'm ready, willing and able. i'm in the white house. i'm ready to go. they can come over right now. we are not giving up. we have to have border security, and the wall is a big part of border security, the biggest part. >> reporter: so house democrats released a plan on monday to fund and reopen the government, preparing two bills. the first bill would include year-long funding for all ndecurity.nt apart

her heartbreaking ordeal. marla carter from our houston affiliate has more. >> he was not there. he was not there. he intentionally killed my child for no reason. >> reporter: jazmine barnes' mother made a plea from her hospital bed, asking the public to help find the man who killed her 7-year-old girl. she said she and her four daughters were going to the store when a car out of nowhere pulled up next to them and started shooting unprovoked. >> i heard shots start firing and they came through my window, broke my glass, hit me in my arm. they sped off in front of us and they slowed -- and the truck slowed down and continued to fire as he was in front of us. >> reporter: she told everyone to get down. washington was shot in the arm trying to shield her daughters from gunfire. once the shooting stopped, one of her daughters looked at jazmine. >> she said, mama, jazmine's not moving. she is not talking.my 7-hoinhe
