ye ye we're following breaking news in the south bay. police shot and killed a suspect at the rotten robbie gas station on lafayette street and aldo avenue in santa clara. this happened just before 6:00 this morning. you can see shattered dplas and bullet holes in the windows. it's unclear what the suspect was wanted for. >> i think that -- i think that it's going to be several hours that we'll be out here investigating and collecting evidence. obviously even then it's early saturday morning. we have to roust everybody and get them here to start this investigation. so i think it's going to be numerous hours we'll be here. >> no one else was hurt. we'll bring you more on the

just ran for cover. >> as they were fighting and then the guys got into the fight and people were up and down, then probably not a good minute later we heard gunshots, pop, pop, pop, pop. >> i seen people running heard gunshots and tried to get down my daughter and niece is there. i told everybody get down. >> everyone just started running for in re lives for the cars and took off started running. >> all available units. all available units down at gablehouse for crowd control. >> and we're told the bowling alley has security guards but unarmed. three people killed, four injured. police are not saying whether the suspect is among them or whether that person is in custody. marcie gonlds, abc news, los angeles. here in the bay area oakland police are investigating a shooting that left three people dead. it happened just one day after oakland officials said the city had the lowest homicide rate in nearly 20 years. the shooting happened near center and 11th streets around 9:00 last night. police say all of the three

victims are men. officers could be seen searching inside a car at the scene. no word yet on what may have led up to the shooting. police have not announced any arrests. a final goodbye for newman police corporal ronil singh. a public funeral for the 33-year-old will be held in modesto this morning. corporal singh was shot and killed in knewman the day after christmas in a traffic stop. knewman is about 100 miles away from the bay area. yesterday people in the tight knit community had a chance to pay respects. leslie brinkley was story but a reminder, there is only one authorized fund set up for the family of corporal singh. it's through the stanislaus sworn deputies association. if you'd like to donate we have

a link on our website at abc7news.com irnlts a for pg&e. the utility is looking to sell its natural gas division to cover potential wildfire liability costs. the news sent shares of the utility plunging 20% in after hours trading. abc 7 news reporter carlos salcedo has more. >> reporter: pg&e is facing billions of dollars in liability if found responsibility for a series of deadly wildfires in california. so the utility is reportedly exploring the sale of its gas assets, using the money to fund massive payouts. >> by spinning off the based and electric systems they will become a size they can manage. what we have seen the last few years is they've been too big to succeed. we saw that after san bruno and t ieeer afires. >> sate senator jerry hill has been critical of the utility giant. he welcomes a split, though the question is who would buy it. >> they don't have much of a system to sell. no one wants a gas system. the electric system is more

to continue through 4:00. that's the wind advisory. as we go through the afternoon, 3:00 it's still gusty, 20 to 40 miles an hour. this is when the cold air moves through. then tonight the winds will abate and we see a break before the next system arrives midday tomorrow. taking us threw the evening hours. another windy day. likely another wind advisory. we'll get through this one first and this is going to bring heavier rain into sunday. so 9:30 you can see some light rain and then we'll get into heavier pockets as the cold air and the unstable air moves through. it won't be raining everywhere all the time. but when you get under one of the downpours it could be a thunderstorm, could see hail. and then we'll get the breaks more likely 3:00, 4:00 in the afternoon towards the evening hours. with the sunsetting. then dry, we have a lull through the overnight hours. in system is stronger moves in later. we are having rain in the morning. but by 2:00 in the dinner hour later into 7:30 and through the 9:00 hour, we're looking at rainy conditions.

snow levels coming down throughout the afternoon. and looking at a pretty wet sunday as well. so this system, a narrow band of rain but heavier downpours in the afternoon. winds up to 45 miles an hour. right now the mount st.hena feeling the gusts at the coast. milder out there in the 50s with the wind. but the wind takes us through the mid-afternoon, 3:00. still looking at downpours. but they're getting more widely scattered. as we go through the evening hours things really will dial back. if you have plans tonight it will be dry and then into tomorrow looks like the rain will move in in the morning and stay with us as well as the winds. here is a time line of the rain. and you'll notice that through the next few hours there is scattered showers then into the heavier downpours, perhaps a thunderstorm. this is 12:30 into about 3:00 in the afternoon. you can see the east bay runaway, the peninsula, perhaps south bay and breaks in the north bay. you may be in and out of the rain if you're out and about this afternoon.
