the way your boyfriend might normally touch you that this was a different person that maybe there was a way to know that this was not the normal person that you would be with? >> well, first of all, my boyfriend and i haven't been together that long. but even if we had, i think people over estimate how aware they are when they're just waking up. >> reporter: within hours, police picked up donald grant ward. the affidavit shows ward told police after abby's boyfriend left the room. he climbed up into the bunk with her. quote, he indicated he had sexual intercourse with victim number 1 knowing she believed him to be her boyfriend. >> that statement on record, many felt the case was open and shut. >> you clearly did not consent to having sex with that person. so in my mind non-consensual sex is rape. >> reporter: but the law in indiana isn't so simple. the hoosier state defines rape in three circumstances. one if the person is compelled by force or threat of force.

the campground here at malibu state park has been closed since that father's murder. it remains so, despite the fact they have the father in custody. he could face life in police were in cprison if convicted. a former uber driver admitted to killing six people in a rampage in michigan. jason dalton pleaded guilty to the attacks at kalamazoo in 2018. in addition to the murders, he wounded two other people. he continued picking up uber customers in between those shootings. he now faces life without parole for each murder. take a look at this eyewitnesses say strong waves were strong enough to wipe out a lighthouse. they say 20-foot waves hit the lighthouse in wisconsin until it collapsed. the concrete base is still there.
