cooler than that during a normal mid january morning. 56 still cloudy at 10:00, random showers possible. you can see our best chance of rain really starts to develop as we head towards noon. showers all the way through 4:00. make it a little bit of a break at 6:00 then steadier rain comes in at 8:00. let's take a look at the peninsula where we've got pretty much cloud cover from 8:00 all the way up to 2:00. a little bit of sunshine possible late this afternoon. that's why we're at 60. showers develop at 6:00. it gets heavier at 8:00. let's take a look at one more neighborhood. we'll go into the south bay where we are pretty much cloudy from 8:00 to noon. some showers from 1:00 through 5:00. a little break during the evening commute. let's keep our fingers crossed for that. the steadier heavy rain starts to move in at 8:00. i think that's when we'll have our best chance of any ponding on the roadways and possibility of thunderstorms. right now everything is dry so i'm going to bring alexis in to see what's going on.

cabdriver in louisville, kentucky. this is footage from a camera inside the taxi. the driver played a pit stop at the liquor store and the passenger returned with a bottle of whiskey. as the driver continued on their way the passengers held up the bottle several times eventually striking the driver in the head. wow. the driver passed out. the cab veered into on coming traffic and slammed into a house. both people survived. the driver says he had no recollection of what led to the crash. the passenger is now charged with assault. >> that is horrifying. a southern california congressman wants to require the postal service put air conditioning in all of its vehicles. this follows the heat related death of a mail carrier. the postal service owns more than 230,000 vehicles but only about 63,000 of them are air conditioned. democrat tony cardenas represents the district where a letter carrier died after the temperature inside her truck reached 117 degrees. he has written a letter urging the postal service to buy air
