wound yesterday afternoon. the 28-year-old fairfield resident died at the hospital. police say there was a confrontation between he and another man right before the shooting. also in antioch, new information about the crash that left two teenagers dead. they were in a honda suv friday night that slammed into a tree. it happened on lone tree well near hill crest avp. the chronicle reports there were five girls in the car. two 13-year-olds, three 17-year-olds and one 16-year-old boy. fire officials say the 4-5ing victims have moderate to critical injuries. it a peers that successive speeding on the wet roadway is the most likely cause of the cra crash. the community is rallying for justice in spotty of a great grandmother. on tuesday she was on her

one dead in an apparent mass drug over dose in chico. police believe it was caused by mix of a dangerous opioid fentanyl with another substance. four people are still in critical condition. two officer were also taken to the hospital as a precaution. in the north bay police say a man tried to burn down a convenient store with a lighter. it was all caught on tape. >> reporter: 40-year-old suspec police. gas.g whssistant manager money. he was so angry. he go outside.

>> 79-year-old taliaferro was found dead last month. police do not suspect foul play. dog owners taking things into their own hands to own a popular park that's been shut down. group sf dog agreed to fund trash clean up and port potty maintenance. dog walkers say getting the lot opened turned out to be a big priority. >> i wrote a letter asking if they can try to get funding release sod this parking lot could be opened again. especially because we could still use it but we just couldn't get into it safely. >> sf dog is helping to cover the cost. they are also holding a fundraiser to raise more funding should the government shut down continue. it is now day 23 of the stoppage. the longest shut down in

network of those abused by priests, is stunned by number. >> it is shocking we only knew of 16 games before today and now we know of somewhere between 40 and 50. >> reporter: the i team has investigated several of the priests who were named in a 1995 report which led to a prison sentence. also father austin peter keegan who dan followed to mexico and found working at an orphanage. the diocese says they abused 63 of the estimated 100 young victims. there are also several names left off the list, which troubles mcnevin. >> that is demoralizing. i think it doesn't serve justice or those unknown survivors that the list. s have been left off >> one famous name on thedisgra

radio host. bernie ward. part of the diocese from 78 to 1979. in 2008 a victim came forward with accusations of abuse. the victim say he's making the information available in pursuit of transparency. but mcnevin notes the list wasn't released until 23 of the 39 priests and deacons were dead. >> it is an intentional strategy to try to suppress reports and to a to avoid as much law enforcement involvement as possible. >> reporter: eric thomas, abc 7 news. >> the current bishop of the archdiocese says in the news release, they have no desire to hide or cover anything up. that is why a seven member review board that includes a retired pro retired probation officer and two retired judges advises em. a lack of state funding for

public education.on. yesterday abc 7 was at a plaza in oakland where sever teachers unions held a large rally to bring attention to the issue. teachers in los angeles locked in a bitter contract dispute. oakland teachers too find themselves in a similar situation. >> there has to be a change is and we're hoping by this rally will get us all together. for legislators. superintendents. school boards and talk about that. and as well as teach unions and other labor unions. >> teachers say they want commercial property owners to pay their fair tear of property taxes to fund schools. bay area teachers are facing tough choices just to make ends meet. starting tomorrow building a better bay area we'll take a closer look at the challenges and possible solutions.

and when it diseadoes it is goi move in the south. south bay will see the rain first and then rainy and windy systems following tuesday, wednesday and thursday. the storm impact scale is a one for tonight. and we're looking at light showers with the best chance along the shoreline and the south bay. less than an 1/4 inch. so this is a weak system and it is going take its time getting here. low pressure about 500 miles west of san francisco. by 11:00 not looking at much in the area. and overnight hours into early monday a few scattered showers. this takes us through monday afternoon and monday evening. 7:0 might have some sours on your ride home. and looking at amounts less than 1/10 of an inch. we have a beach hazard statement today through monday morning from the sneaker waves to the poed ga bay down monterey.

so something to be aware of. and on tuesday, this system allowing rain throughout the day on tuesday. with us through the afternoon. and right behind it overnight wednesday into thursday this is the system, both of them, that will bring some very gusty winds and some down pours. amounts are still looking impressive. anywhere from about two to three inches, maybe four inches in the higher elevation. so you can see the entire state impacted. and in terms of snow not doing too bad. about two to three feet over the next seven days. tahoe city about 30 inches by the time we get to next friday. 38 inches in kirkwood. this will certainly help the snow pack and really the percentage of average for the rainfall and the snow pack should be pushing well over 100% by the time the week is out. 61 in freemont. 60 in san francisco. 58 today in richmond. it will be a dry day. the showers holding off until the later evening hours. the coast the best chance also in the south bay. so that is a level one on our

good morning everyone. time right now is 5:38. a live look outside from our east bay hills camera. you can see some drivers getting an early start to their sunday morning as they make tear way over the bay bridge and into the city. where'll get a check of the full forecast in a little bit. missing doctors appointments can lead to an early death especially if you have chronic conditions. according to a study by the university of lancaster and glass gou in the uk. the team examined more than 500,000 patients appointments scotland from 2013 to 2016 and then compared them to medical patient histories and death records. the key is missing more that be two appointments a year. people with long-term physical
