nothing in livermore. the last dry day today for a while, we'll see the clouds increase. temperatures in the upper 50s to low 60s today under partly cloudy skies. towards the overnight hours bringing a chance of showers into the bay area. i'll time out the rain for you coming up. >> thank you. developing news out of the south bay police investigating a shooting that left a man dead in san jose. officers found him in the area of parkmore avenue. he was taken to the hospital where he died. police have not identified a suspect. this is the city's second homicide of the new year. hundreds of people gathered to remember fallen davis police officer hours before the candle light vigil. police released a letter from the suspect. they wrote the police department had been hitting him with ultrasonic waves. he ended saying he can't live

it happened around 8:40 last night on silver leaf road. san jose police say a man lost control of his motorcycle and collided with a parked box truck. the victim's name has not been released. this is san jose's third traffic related death of the new year. >> police in antioch are i investigating. a man found suffering from a gunshot wound just before 2:00 yesterday afternoon. the 28-year-old fairfield resident died at the hospital. police say there had been a confrontation between him and at man right before the shooting. no arrests have been made. about in antioch we are learning new information about a crash that left two dead and four hurt. a honda suv slammed into a tree on lone tree way. the chronical reports there were five girls in the car, two

13-year-olds and three 17-year-olds as well as one 16-year-old boy. officials say the four survivoring victims have moderate to critical injuries. investigators say it appears excess ifr speeding on the wed roadway is the most likely cause of the crash. the community is rallying for justice in support of an 88-year-old great grandmother. she is the victim of a heinous crime. on tuesday she was on her morning walk and she was beaten unconscious. the community and city leaders discussed how to prevent more violence in the future. >> music, prayers and dancing at a kplcommunity individual gymler dead. >> critical condition on life

city hall are all in favor of more policing here in visitation valley. it is just a question of what form it comes in. san francisco police officers is pushing for a mobile kpland unit. there is also discussion about a new substation in visitation valley. there is a $10,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of whoever assaulted her. abc 7 news. one man is dead and four are in critical condition after what appears to be a mass drug overdose. at least a dozen people taken to the hospital yesterday morning. they believe it was fentanyl. all were over 18 and most appear to be in their 20s. four people are still in critical condition. two others were taken to the hospital as a precaution. >> police say a man tried to burn down a convenience store

with gasoline and a lighter. we have this by saizarre story. >> reporter: he surrendered to police. police followed him from this convenience store where he argued with the assistant manager. >> reporter: police say it was all caught own cameras. watch as he doused the store with gasoline. he leaves and returns with a piece of paper and lighter. he lights it and tosses it onto the gas soaked floor. >> what did you do? i was so scared. i didn't want to go close to

him. i wanted to stay away. >> luckily the gas did not ignite. police followed him and he refused to surrender. >> they formed some trust and were able to talk about what's going on with him. >> police say roman was having family troubles. he agreed to surrender after asking police far cigarette instead they gave him a vap pen to smoke. police did not find anything in his truck. he is relieved there was no fire and nobody got hurt. >> thank god i survived today. >> he is charged are attempted arson and in the south bay a 20 foot deep sink hole will not be fixed until tomorrow evening until the earliest. road crews looking into whether
