this is "abc7 news." major woes for pg&e on the brink of preparing for bankruptcy after investigations into the utilities role in major fires, including the most deadly wildfire in california history. and now the ceo is out. good evening and thanks for joining us i'm dion lim. >> i'm eric thomas. pg&e may be heading towards bankruptcy faster than pektsed. after making announcement about ceo. >> more with this is kate. >> reporter: there has been talk about pg&e filing for bankruptcy but now there is a word that that process may begin tomorrow. now we have received no official word from pg&e about that except for the fact that tonight the

company announced that their ceo resigned. facing billions of dollars in potential liabilities for its role in the 2017 tubbs fire and 2018 camp fire, pg&e employees may learn as soon monday that utility giant is preparing to file for bankruptcy. >> it's a big problem. i worry about making sure that we keep the lights on. >> reporter: state senator biehl dodd was sb 901 new bill for some financial relief for pg&e and 15 days in advance of any control of the company, including bankruptcy. dodd says he heard directly from someone within pg&e that they will notify employees monday and not surprised after the utilities credit rating was downgraded to junk status on tuesday. >> bankruptcy are not good for victims of these wildfires and definitely not good for rate payers in the long run. over time this could mean $140 a year increase in pg&e's bill.

investigators believe speed and wet conditions played a role in the wreck. crews made good time completed work on a sink hole that formed friday night. westbound lanes will be open for tomorrow morning commute milpitas. originally repairs thought until monday night. no word what caused it but it may be due to damaged storm pipe underground. and an explosion rattled people living and working in san francisco. so by monday tracking the light showers. cob isolated downpour here and there in the afternoon. but for the evening commute you'll likely be dodging some drops by 6, 7:00 in the evening as well. so highs in monday grab the umbrella out the door first thing in the morning. you'll definitely need it in the afternoon and evening. temperatures mainly cloudy sky reaching into mid or upper 50s by the afternoon. as we head into tuesday, there may be more in the way of energy in our atmosphere, so the storm pro diction center has put much under thunder threat. if one pops up on thursday, we could see an isolated lightning strike. wednesday night into thursday we are watching, this is when we have the greatest risk of having hefry rain and strong winds over 40-mile-per-hour. so we'll be on the lookout of possibility of downed trees and flooding during ta time period. here's the accuweather 7 day forecast, active week ahead.
