expert care for every new beginning. another girl saying he stabbed my mom, he stabbed my mom. he hit the house on fire with the kids inside. >> breaking news with a manhunt for the man who stabbed two women in vacaville tonight. >> it started at a home near alamo drive, the same location as a house fire. they identified the suspect as 37-year-old nathaniel holland. >> he may have been spot add i few blocks away on mason street. we are there live. >> reporter: on mason street about 15 minutes ago, we were told that the suspect had been spotted over here and officers

were following droplets of blood. the officers were lining mason streets and several were behind that wall searching with the flashlights and a chopper overhead at about the last five minutes there were several fire trucks a trucks and ambulances that stopped at the corner towards the end of the road. to bring people up po speed, three victims were staken to the hospital. a 16-year-old and 43-year-old woman were both stabbed. they don't know what came first, the stabbing or the fire. the witness said she was outside when she heard the commotion earlier this evening. >> i heard a loud explosion. i see children just running out of the house screaming bloody murder. i get out of my car and walk up to the house. the front door is open and it's ungulfed in flame.

declaring bank rupsy. the value is $4.4 billion, but they may owe $30 billion in potential wildfire claims. they said the power and the gas are not in danger of being turned off. abc 7 news reporter is live in the newsroom with what it means for all of us. >> there are 16 million pg&e customers and our utility bills may increase when they file for bankruptcy 18 years ago, the bills did get bigger and it could affect how you get your electricity. i spoke to the mayor a few hours ago. >> were you surprised and or frustrated to see pg&e start bankruptcy proceedings again? >> no. >> san francisco mayor laughing not because she thinks it's funny that pg&e filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy, but it's not unexpected. >> it's unfortunate, but we are prepared to do what's necessary in san francisco to continue

service. >> the mayor asked the public utilities commission to side the impacts of a pg&e bankruptcy including buying equipment and infrastructure and power in san francisco. >> we are looking at every possibility. for example, san francisco has a clean power sf program. we provide the power and pg&e distributes the power to our customers. a distributor potentially. who knows. >> the san francisco public utilities commission said they will have a preliminary report ready with recommendations in three months. larry, back to you. >> kate, there 20,000 pg&e employees. are we hear being them? >> a big concern. pg&e said employees will still get paid during the bankruptcy proceedings, but as employees arrived in san francisco this morning, many said they were shock and didn't know what to

expect. if we are to take a lesson from history, bankruptcies have been okay for employees. the union said their workers did not lose any pay or benefits in the 2001 bankruptcy, but the union said they are concerned this time around. one employee who did receive a windfall is former ceo geisha williams after less than two years. she resigned yesterday. prior to that bankruptcy announcement, she received a severance of $2.5 million. back to you. >> thank you. governor gavin newsom said the state will do what it takes to make sure californians get and continuous electricity and gas service. >> this is a top priority for this administration. it is not being pushed back in the file. >> newsom said the task forces in place that includes officials from the public utilities commission and the department of finance. the state will consider all

schools in huge numbers. >> one district resorted to extreme measures to make sure that students are being taught. >> being a teacher used to mean a 30-year plus career. in california and especially in the bay area, it turned into a steppingsto steppingstone. >> anyone with a degree is valuable and most teachers have multiple degrees. >> this is the vice president of the board of trustees for the jefferson union high school district and she has seen 20% leave every year as the gap increases between the cost of living and salaries. some leave for districts to the south. others are leaving education all together. >> don't forget that this is your homework. >> the jefferson union started to teach one math class because the original teacher resigned. >> in the middle of october, he was offered a job that paid more than twice what he's getting and he left.
