with thunderstorms. our radar is tracking the storms. taking you to street level, black hawk road. it is slippery. into santa rosa and as we head into the south bay from ever green, coyote, morgan hill, we're looking at showers. a strong level 3 storm moves in. strong gusts up to 60 miles an hour. it will knock down trees and cause flooding. tomorrow morning, scattered light showers between 4:00 and 5:00 a.m. most of the showers to the north as we head into the 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. powers. and then 2:00 p.m., the rainfall does pick up in intensity.inten morning. we'll head into the high wind

in front of the ferry building. the truck's brakes were no match for the slick roads and heavy load of lumber. traffic was blocked up to highway 101 where rain fell all evening. a warm-up for wednesday's big storm. he is the coordinator. he says the teams have been working hard to make sure they're ready. >> the creeks and drainages, our urban search and rescue team is on stand by as is our swift water rescue in case this was to be a much bigger flood. >> reporter: she works in mill valley and says they've run out of sand bags. all that's celeste what's guarding the front door. >> every customer got three and four. the sand bags were really needed today. >> reporter: don't let the flooding take away from the good news. >> our reservoirs are just over

government shutdown and there's little sign the sides are close to an agreement. 42,000 coast guard missed their paychecks today. 46,000 irs employees and 1,700 faa safety inspectors have been called back to work without pay. and sick calls from 47,000 tsa workers without call have doubled. the city of san jose is looking for a way to provide some kind of financial relief for these folks. amanda is live at san jose international airport with more on the story. >> reporter: relief could come in the form of a no interest short term loan. a special meeting is scheduled for tomorrow. the city is coming together to discuss the issue impacting 500 workers right here. for 500 workers, it is all work, no pay. >> these are highly skilled
