gate bridge. >> reporter: good morning. we're getting rain and wind this morning. the storm watch continues. the big storm is yet to come. we're still getting issues and some weather this morning. the rain was disruptive yesterday. take a look at this accident we captured. this was at sir francis drake boulevard in front of a building. that truck had a big load. slick roads, that combination was too much for the brakes to handle. that caused quite a backup on highway 101. the chp hoping for minimal issues today on the highway asking people to do what they can to prevent slipping and sliding today, asking everyone to slow down. another department hoping not to have problems today. department of public works. they've done whatever they can to try and get ready for this weather. >> the department of public works clearing roads and creating drainages, urban search and rescue team on stand by in case this was to be a bigger

bridge. the drive times from hayward westbound to san mateo is 13 minutes. we'll show you the overall drive time traffic map. we've got mostly green out there. but there is an overturned crash in vallejo initially reported westbound tennessee. may be eastbound. one lane still blocked. so far traffic is green through the area. we'll keep you posted on this one as well. be careful guys. it's going to be slick this morning out there. >> thank you, frances. rough weather could impact ferry service today. the san francisco bay ferry is warning passengers that rain and wind could make the evening commute difficult and possibly dangerous. operators are ready to suspend service if they think it's not safe to be on the water. cal trans says -- this is video reported by traffic cameras in the mountains last night. both directions of interstate 80 were closed after snow fell off a hillside and on to the roadway. chains are required on 80 from

urge you to be a good witness. >> four women robbed the lululemon in berkeley previously. >> they fill the bags with 120 pairs of leggings. >> the leggings range from $98 to $148. the crime was caught on camera too. but berkeley police tell us they aren't releasing video yet. investigators won't see if the incidents are linked. reporting in berkeley, jobina fortson, abc 7 news. there's more trouble for pg&e this morning. butte county is suing the company over the camp fire. the county claims it's barred from a pg&e -- it started from a line that sparked the flames. the company was aware of the risks the line posed. flames destroyed more than 18,000 structures, most homes and 86 people died. pg&e says the cause of the camp fire hasn't been determined. the company filed for bankruptcy on monday due to wildfire lawsuits. let's talk about what to expect out of the storm. we'll jump right in to what's

going on outside. you can see, yeah, it is wet on the embarcadero. it's also wet as we look at the western span of the bay bridge. poor is the easiest way to say it. it will be dangerous in the evening hours when the ponding on the roadway develops. mass transit, caution, wet and windy. it will be choppy and breezy, gale force winds in fact. up to 52 miles per hour blowing southeast to northwest. you know what that does? puts the dumbarton, the san mateo, the bay bridge and the richmond an raphael ridge perpendicular to the winds. that means you'll get pushed around, sudden gusts on top of wet roads. 1:00, north of the bay bridge. 4:00, south of the bay bridge. let's take a look. excuse me. you can see, wow. can't escape it. there's a chance of rain every single hour in the peninsula.

in the east bay, we get a little bit of a break from about 8:00 to 10:00. but then from noon on, it just gets heavier and then here's what's going on in san francisco. every single hour from 8:00 to 8:00, we have a chance of rain culminating with thunderstorms during the evening hours. we'll take an hour by hour look at that next. here's frances. >> all right, mike. we have a couple new accidents just reported to the chp. both overturned northbound 280 one at larkspur and one at san bruno avenue. we'll keep you posted on that as well. we've been trackig another crash in vallejo. it's in the eastbound direction. so the reverse commute at tennessee, lanes are blocked because traffic is heavy approaching the scene. westbod also, better news on southbound 101. everything has been opened here as you make your way through palo alto. that's looking good. here's a live shot right now as we check out westbound 80 through emeryville.

you're never more than seven minutes away from your accuweather forecast. this is abc 7 mornings. whole lot to talk about if you're traveling around the state today as the showers and thunderstorms will be more numerous from monterey northward. even showers possible and an isolated thunderstorm around southern california. blizzard today, blizzard tomorrow. slippery friday. saturday is your best bet to head up to the high country. here we go. a blizzard warning that starts at 4:00 this afternoon. this is when the heaviest snow is going to fall and winds gusting up to 75 miles per hour thrugh noon tomorrow. that's why it's going to be so dangerous. then we'll have a winter storm warning that lasts until at least 4:00 friday morning. 2 to 4 feet, more than 6 at our peaks. we've also got an avalanche warning because of that. right now, looks pretty quiet. light snow. but we definitely have heavier snow on the way.

i bobt twouldn't try guys. details on the assault of an elderly woman. he's a black man in his 30s. about 5'6" with a thin build. investigators believe he attacked an 88-year-old last tuesday morning as she walked in a park near her home. witnesses reported seeing the suspect leave the home later. wong is still in the hospital. b.a.r.t. says it will equip all b.a.r.t. police officers with the opioid antidote narcan in the coming months. only elevator attendants hired through a b.a.r.t. can contractor carry it at the civic center and pal stations. they have helped in situations like this. a b.a.r.t. passenger saw a man who appeared to have overdosed last man. an elevator attendant supervisor grabbed narcan nasal spray to treat him. paramedics took the man to the

hospital. street flooding is a big concern because of the powerful storms. crews will be out in force today clearing away storm drains >> some neighbors are pitching in to help. katie utehs has the details. >> reporter: keeping san lan andro's 2500 drains clear can be a daunting task. public works employees did it throughout the day. there's an adopt a drain program. >> we have flooding events called pineapple express. the flooding is reduced with this program. it maintains storm drains. >> when you volunteer to adopt a drain, you get a safety shirt and medallion marks your adopted drain. sign up online, rake the leaves, clear the debris and put it in the proper yard waste or garbage bin at your home. city leaders hope the program grows. >> with climate change, we're going to be seeing much increased precipitation in our city. the combination of sea level

got a lot to talk about. flash flood threats starts at 3:00 this afternoon through 3:00 tomorrow. 12-hour window everywhere. let me say it again. everywhere. south bay has the potential for flooding. turn around, don't drown. now, the solano and lake county, weave got it from 4:00 to 7:00 tomorrow morning. we're worried about debris flows, especially in lake county. the lower elevations, we have a wind advisory. this is for gusts up to 50 miles per hour out of the south. 1:00 this afternoon to 3:00 tomorrow morning up in the higher elevations. we have a high wind warning. gusts faster than 60 miles per hour. more likely to have potential damage from downed trees, blowing debris and power outages. all right. >> pretty quiet out there. at least in some parts of our neighborhood. let's see what happens. steady rain in the north bay while the rest of us deal with periods of rain. let's jump through and show you

slow down because it's the accidents that end up causing a big mess later on this morning. here's a live shot at 280 in san jose. headlights moving northbound on 280 and that's 17 across the screen. a couple problems on 280, we'll head there on the peninsula. it looks like it's one crash. it's northbound 280 reported at larkspur and san bruno. but it is an injury accident. i could see slowing here later on. we'll keep you posted on this one. there's an overturned crash in vallejo eastbound 80 at tennessee. it's causing slowing as you approach the scene. guys. >> more about that earthquake that some of us felt here in our studio but we did not. >> no. >> apparently some of you have. you say that it woke you up. a few of you. it was a 3.7 apparently. it was based in piedmont this morning. we don't know anything else other than that at this point.
